  3. Hi I am driving a 5 year old Suzuki. Recently changed quite a fair bit of parts below as due to wear and tear. 1) shocks 2) lower control arm 3) stabilizer link 4) steering rack and tie rods 5) rotors and brake pads My car is stock. No mods done. After installing the above parts I started having cracking noises below at very low speeds like 10km/h. If I can recall correctly the noises started having noises after steering rack and brake components were replaced. The sound is worse than before I changed anything. Any advice?
  4. After 33Kkm, I think that my brake rotor disc is warpped (New set of tyres with balancing and allignment). Steering vibrant during high speed. Has anyone claim it under warranty from PI workshop? I claimed before from Honda AD during warranty period. From AD, normally they just change a new set of disc. I am not sure how easy to claim from PI's workshop. My PI workshop is Spark Care Centre. Maybe PI's workshop just do the skimming? Thx in adv for sharing.

I therefore need a buyer who is willing to pay me the SGD 180,000 directly, and I will keep the car under my name and continue paying the financing. Of course, all details will be governed by a contract. - the car is dark-blue with beige interior - I paid for the car: SGD 298,000 - I never had an accident with the car - the current market price of my car is SGD 235,000 - at Performance Motors, the car now costs SGD 318,000 - the COE more than doubled since I bought the car - the COE will most likely continue to increase I am a Singapore Permanent Resident, and ready to discuss this deal anytime. 6. Good news for all! The CaseTrust-SVTA scheme is going to be officially launched from 1st July onwards - I just attended the press conference this morning. Anyway, Christopher Tan from ST has already posted the write-up online here, and I've put it in this post for all of you to reference from. ----- June 24, 2009 CASETRUST SCHEME 39 motor traders join By Christopher Tan SENIOR CORRESPONDENT Case president Yeo Guat Kwang said the scheme is not bent on dispute settlement, but is one that is 'dispute-avoidance'. -- PHOTO: BT THE motor industry, which accounts for the second highest number of consumer complaints here, has launched a scheme to lead car buyers to trustworthy dealers and away from the 'black sheep'. From July, buyers can zoom in on 39 firms in the so-called CaseTrust scheme started by the Consumers Association of Singapore (Case) and the Singapore Vehicle Traders Association (SVTA). The cohort represents about 5 per cent of all authorised distributors, parallel importers and used car traders here. The 39 were among 66 which applied to be accredited but did not meet the requirements. These include having in place a transparent and fair buyer's agreement and an insurance bond of $50,000 which will be used to settle any customer disputes that might arise. But Case president Yeo Guat Kwang said the scheme is not bent on dispute settlement, but is one that is 'dispute-avoidance'. But should disputes arise, the CaseTrust programme has a mediation process in place. It will be chaired by five members, including Mr Dennis Lim, a former magistrate. SVTA president Neo Nam Heng hopes all motor traders will strive to join the CaseTrust scheme. The first 39 firms, largely parallel importers, are: # Acfas Auto; # Alfa Credit; # Apricar; # Autopoint Motoring; # Autorich; # BKW Automobiles; # Car Times Automobile; # Cars & Stars; # Chai Giap Auto Trading; # Chicago Associates; # Convince Auto; # Good Year Automobile; # Hoe Beng Auto Trading; # Lake View Credit; # Lay Auto; # M9 Automobile; # Mayfair Motoring; # Motor-East; # Motor-way; # Omnicars Automobile; # Pang's Motor Trading; # Prime Cars Credit; # Prime Motor & Leasing; # RTMT Motor; # Shuang Hup Credit; # Starbright Auto; # Swee Seng Motors; # Tan Motor Car Enterprises; # Tan Wei Auto Trading; # Tay Motor & Credit; # Teck Wei Credit; # Thiam Heng Motor; # Think One Automobile & Trading; # Village Credit; # Vincar; # World of Wheels; # Yong Chuan Motor Trading; # Yong Lee Seng Motor; # Yuni-Ku ---- Just a curious question, how do you all feel about this CaseTrust-SVTA scheme? Do you all feel more assured? Any issues with any of the traders listed here (please do not name names, just comment only)?
  7. I would like to propose the above as since some months ago, the political animals or powerhouse forumers have been running all over and affecting the mood of this wonderful forum. To have their dedicated folder will serve many purposes: 1 it will placate those who are not into political bashing and getting damn sick of the antics of those who like to blame everything on government without logic. It is getting very nauseous. 2 those political animals will have a dedicated channel to voice to vent their angle and frustration and find solace and sympathy there. 3 it will be good for housekeeping. By limiting those of same kind into a folder, it will be easy to handle any fallout from trouble with authority. 4 by limiting viewership, as those not into politics will steer clear of the new folder, the 'movement' will not be encouraged due to limited readership. There are young punks who might be misleaded due to the troubling language and attitude used. This is primarily a car forum after all. Those with ulterior motives or agenda should carry their war elsewhere, and not throw their s--t here. Sincerely hope the mod team will accept this proposal to reduce the adversity level here, and enhance the forum ambience.
  8. Mr Ang Chee Peng, 26, was doing what he loved most on Thursday night. He was riding along Upper East Coast Road when he was involved in an accident with a car. The driver of the car was making a U-turn towards East Coast Road to pick up his wife and daughter at a bus stop at the time, reported Shin Min Daily News. Mr Ang was flung from his sports motorbike and ended up pinned under the car. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call at 8.38pm and dispatched two fire engines, two fire bikes, an ambulance and two support vehicles to the scene. When the SCDF officers arrived, Mr Ang, who had serious injuries, no longer had a pulse, the report said. He was still trapped under the car when paramedics pronounced him dead around 9.30pm. Some 20 officers took about an hour to extract the body from under the car. They used two airbags and a hydraulic spreader to lift the car to gain access to the body. The driver of the car, who is in his early 50s, has been arrested for causing death by a rash act and is out on bail. Mr Ang's motorbike skidded 50m from the accident site. His sports shoes were found 100m away, reported Shin Min Daily News. One of the headlights of the car fell off and part of the car's body was damaged, the report said. If the driver is making the U-turn along East Coast Road and the biker coming straight from upper east coast road...... he should be charged for manslaughter... it is illegal to U-turn! RIP.... ride safe bros.
  9. Since the PM & his cabinet colleagues have been emphasing that they will listen more to the ground just before & after the recent GE, I will like to seek my fellow MCFers' opinion on this. For me, I think it will be mandatory that the ED be completely independent from the executive, legislative or judiciary branches. Ideally the people there should be appointed from both public & private sectors maybe 1 year before the next GE. This is remove some concerns from people of the nagging feeling of the conflict of interest element which may influence how electoral boundaries are drawn before each GE so far. Even though I am not from Aljunied GRC, I certainly do not want it to be broken up in different wards come GE 2016. Your views?
  10. http://theowlcritic.blogspot.com/2011/04/t...dos-attack.html WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20, 2011 Temasek Review Downed By DDOS Attacks If you can't access the Temasek Review, it is because it has been downed by DDOS (denial of service) attacks. Similar attacks during the Sarawak Election brought down Malaysia's Alternative News Sites like Malaysiakini, Malaysia Chronicle and the UK-based Sarawak Report. The Sarawak Report was forced to go 'on the run' moving from server to server as each new server came under attack. In the case of Malaysia, there was little doubt that the attack was ordered by the BN. The PAP seems to have taken a leaf out of the BN's dirty tricks playbook and may be intent on doing the same to the Temasek Review. These attacks, we note, are illegal. The Singapore voter is expected to swallow the propagandic gibberish spewed by the Straits Times and other such 'news' sources to make his or her decision. The fact that the PAP is engaging in such tactics should be reason enough to vote against them. They wish to deny the Singapore voter, access to their most implacable, and no-holds barred, critic, the Temasek Review. It is an insult to the Singapore voter's intelligence that tactics seen as being succesful against natives in Sarawak's remote interiors are being used to deny them information. It is a clear sign that the PAP is afraid, and the PAP is desperate. And they now seem willing to use methods favoured by Malaysia's disreputable BN. No matter how despicable, or how illegal, such methods are. Posted by The Owl at 6:48 PM

  12. a construction yard somehow sprayed construction foam onto my car that hardened after a while. however, it could be removed after spraying with water for a long period of time. however, i'm not sure what it'll do to the paintwork. so they agreed that i could send my car for polishing and cleaning on their expense. I've never done any detailing before. so i'm here seeking for the "best deal under $200". =) btw, my car is a small honda city. thanks!
  13. Hi Guys I'm planning to buy an opc jazz from my friends colleague. Will be checking out the car this weekend. It was registered around Jan/Feb 08. The mileage is rather low <40,000km. I assume its still under warranty from KM? Besides checking the service log, should i bring the car back to KM for a check before buying just to be sure? If i do plan to go ahead with the deal, i plan to make a 30% down for the car with 6-7 years loan. Will the down payment be paid to the seller or the loan company? Asking price is about $38k, OMV around $14k. What would be a reasonable price to bargain for? First time buying a car so still trying to figure out the procedure. Thanks!
  14. Hi all, As of topic, this morning I notice a small puddle of water forming up below my car. The location is the puddle is around the middle of the 2 front wheel for 09 Jazz. Is it normal? Or is something leaking?

  16. Yesterday while I was on the expressway, I caught up with this Altis on Lane 1 where I can see the right rear was under inflated and it looks like the sidewall is going to burst anytime. I horn at the driver to get his attention but either he didn't hear or just ignore me as he didn't even look at the rear view mirror. As I had to exit, so I didn't bother to get his attention anymore and quickly get as far as I could away from him. This is the kind of driver I'm most afraid to meet on the road as they are posing danger on the road and have totally no clue what's going on.

  18. CNA reports : Maid gets 3 years' jail for sex with employer's 12-year-old son An Indonesian maid who had sex with her employer's 12-year-old son was jailed three years by a district court on Wednesday. In doing so, the Courts has sent out a deterrent message to those convicted of sexually exploiting children. The 27-year-old woman, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, had engaged in consensual sex and performed oral sex on him on four occasions last year. They only came to light on Christmas day after the boy's grandmother saw the maid performing oral sex on him. District Judge John Ng said the maid had abused her position of trust. He said the person entrusted to look after the children had, in fact, turned out to be a sexual predator. She should have done it with the Master and at least only sent back to Indon .......
  19. If a report from Japan's Best Car is to be believed, Toyota will delay the release of the FT-86 from 2011 to 2013. The reasons behind the delay are varied, and include a different design direction, the economic slowdown and possibly a revised powertrain strategy that could include some kind of hybrid motivation. As reported previously, the original FT-86 concept was just that
  20. Last time remember got the "Date joined" under the user name, how come it disappears? It's good to see a user's date of joining so as can see whether his/her post holds some weight(although not much, haha). I know can see the "Date joined" by clicking that user's profile page, but it is quite troublesome.. Can bring it back?
  21. My under carriage cover (big piece of plastic covering the bottom of my engine compartment) got yanked off yesterday by some low curb at the car park. It was hanging by a few of the remaining screws & was dragging on the road as I drove. Could not secure it back as the secure points were cracked, so I cut off most of it so that it will not get in the way when the car is moving. With this removal, a large part (75%) of the engine comparment is expose the the elements as I drive along. Probably be driving this way until my next servicing ( 2 months away). So the question is: will there be any adverse effect to my engine should I continue driving without cover?
  22. Hi, recently my dad has retired and has pass the usage of the family car to me. What should I do to "take over" the car? Including the bank loan and stuff.. Do I look for LTA or the bank that is financing the car? What is the procedure? Thanks in advance! =)
  23. Anyone there driving Honda Stream experience the above. What your advise ?
  24. Not much of an audiophile nor much into ICE... Just looking for a slim sub woofer to put under my seat to improve the bass (which I find lacking and to save space). I don't intend to get any amp so I believe what I need is an active sub right? I don't need high end, as long it does its job good enough for the average user will do. Any recommendations on the brand, where to get and rough price range? Thanks!
  25. Was at IMM noon today and waited at ground floor parking lots for almost 10 mins before a family got back to their car with their shopping. Lined up 2 car width ahead of their car, on hazard lights and waited with a red Mazda 3 further behind me. Family drove off and I was about to reverse into parking lot when a lorry zoomed up from behind the red Mazda and took the empty lot! Wind down my window and gestulated angrily at the lorry driver who looked at me and laughed with his passenger The red Mazda driver also joined in and gestulated at him (or that's what I thought I saw him doing). Thanks bro! Gave up and went all the way up to 5th floor. Hmmmmmmmmm!!! Felt at that point of time, to come down to the lorry and rip off his side mirrors But good sense took hold of me and stopped me from doing that as it would be dangerous for the lorry and also other drivers on the road. What a day! Sorry for my evil thoughts
