Hey guys, need some recommendations and advice. Just need a simple replacement for my sound system's head unit. It's a Blaupunkt MP-74. It's screwed. Screwed>> <<Screwed I'm a total newbie. So I don't know what size/specs of head units to replace my Blaupunkt MP74. Neither do I know how to install one. That's why i need the help of you experts here. :) Desperately need your help. I'm looking for a decent one with the following minimum features: - FM Radio - Mp3 playback capability - USB port / Aux-In - iPod/iPhone compatability a plus - Budget: less than $250 - Must be new. Of course - Place to purchase helps with installation? No need for remote. No need screen. Very chin chai. My car's Bose speakers and woofer are good enough for me. So questions are: 1) Any brand and model recommendations? 2) Where's the best place(s) - in terms of price, service and reliability - to find the respective brand/model head unit? Thank you so much for enduring my noob-ness. :)

I would need some recommendation from some of the ICE experts here. I am now driving a Skyline and it has already an inbuilt TV Screen. I have asked my regular shop to connect the Reverse Cam and TV Tuner and they seemed to have messed up a fair bit. They claimed they cant connect the reverse cam and it is now connected to a seperate LCD Screen. They connected the TV Tuner but.... the screen shuts off with the sound still on. Weirdly, when I stepped on my brakes, the screen comes on again. They claimed they dunno which wires to tap on. If any bros out there know of any good shop that knows how to connect teh two gadgets to a stock screen like mine, please let me know. Thanks. -
ai guys my IU Unit (the thing used to insert ur cashcard for ERPS and all) keeps dropping off from the glue... i think its because i went to tint my car and they removed it and sticked it back... now not as sticky liao so keep dropping... any solution guys ?

Considering to replace stock audio unit with iPad. Conditions is must be able to remove iPad when needed. Easily slot in and out for the iPad. No cables dangling. I am looking for sth like this >> But no need so advanced still need bluetooth connection for keyboard at rear seats all these. Juz a basic slot to plug iPad in. Once plugged in auto connected to speakers and also charged. Basic system anyone know anywhere is SG can do? Roughly how much is the cost?

Hi all, I have currently in my possession an RNS510 unit from Skoda. It is a 1Z0 unit and its basically the exact same unit as the Columbus system on the Superb IIs and new Octavia VRS except that it seems to be specifically for the Octavia A5. It has a harddisk (20gb? or 30gb?....cant rem) with an SD card slot, DVD playback capability, GPS (antenna inc.) etc etc. It cannot be used on a Superb II so was thinking if there are any bros out there driving an A5 who want to try installing this in their car, I can sell it to you cheaply. No strings attached. We can try the installation first and you can choose not to take the unit if it does not work. PM me if anyone is interested yeah? Cheers all!

Dear fellow mcfers, Just posting this thread to ask did anyone kena such issue before where got cashcard inserted with more than sufficient $$. When i drive through gantry, no beep sound to signal $$ deducted.. instead its the kuku IU scroo me... then i know there is going to be another erp i need to pass a few hundred m away.. immediately i take out and reinsert my card then its ok since the value of the balance shows up.. So now my qn is how do i go appeal to the authorities on this?.. Will i kena the fine coz of the IU unit?.. I did take a pic of the incident with my hp as 'backup' in case of appeal..

Hi, I am using clarion unit and was trying to tune the crossover, but there is a problem when I do the below setting For my mid HPF 2kHz LPF 80Hz or 63 Hz there will be cracking sound from the speaker when certain music is played. Is it because my speaker is spoilt? But when I set my mids to the below HPF 2kHz LPF Through there will be no cracking sound but then the mid is not so punchy. Anyone know whats wrong? I checked for my CDT ES, the range is from 60-6000Hz. So if I set to 63Hz should be ok .

Bros! Tp with hand hell unit at road shoulder just before the CCK overhead bridge at 1030am 27/10/2010 on kje!!! Anyway was travelling at 100+ ..he was hiding just afer the turn ..handheld unit is it nv chase u that means never kenna? Or is it same as those tripod unit send letter to ur hse?

Hi, Just claimed warranty on my cash card unit and was given the new unit (able to use both cashcard and EZ linkcard). Was wondering for those using the new unit, ok to leave the cash card insert inside 24/7 (note: I am not talking about thef but more concern whether will it drain the battery). My old unit as long cash card inserted, a small green LED will remain lighted even when engine off. The new unit side green indicator will light up once u insert the cashcard, showed the balance and light will goes off after 1-2 minutes.

hi, one of my room air con fan coil unit has finally up lorry. The blower can't blow anymore. is it possible to just change to a newer fan coil unit because i don't think they have my model which is abt 8 yr ago. any bro here got experience?

Dear All My ERP unit double sided tape was broken into 2 pieces and tried to replace with the normal double sided tape from the stationery store,but it could not hold the unit in place for more than 2 days. Could any bros recommend where to get the double side tape meant for ERP unit. Thanks

Hi guys/gals, This question might been asked plenty of times but I can't find any thread on it. Currently I using a factory pioneer single din unit with 2 amp, front back component speaker and a 12 inch woofer. Can I know is there any and nice 2 din Hu so can cover the empty space below. Must i need a good HU, i felt my amp already gave me nice sound liao. Thanks for the time reading this post and your recommendation will be greatly appreciated. I currently asking JK audio Jason for help, he really very neat in work and pro in tuning. But i duno how to answer him when he ask whats my expectation of 2 din unit. Regards Liang 97487222

Hi all, I am looking for a single din head unit with green or orange back lights to match the original dash lightings. Prefer GREEN. Also prefer something with a simple slot-in CD type, much like a Clarion D1, not the ones with doors that need to open and doing a lot of things before you can insert your CD to play. Brands ??? Nothing in particular and certainly not looking for top of the range models . . . . something mid range will do. Are there anything like this around ??? Any help in locating one will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. -

LTA launches dual-mode In-vehicle Unit for cars From 30 June 2009, new car owners will have their vehicles fitted with the new generation In-vehicle Unit (IU). 30 Jun 2009 | Local News Viewed : 1,269 times The new IU is designed to accept both the existing NETS CashCard and CEPAS-compliant cards such as the new CEPAS-compliant ez-link card. Motorists have a choice to use either the NETS CashCard or the CEPAS-compliant ez-link card once the cars are fitted with the dual-mode IU. On top of the existing NETS CashCard, motorists with dual-mode IUs also have the option of using CEPAS-compliant cards for parking charges at Electronic Parking System (EPS) car parks that support the CEPAS standard from October 2009 when these EPS car parks are progressively upgraded. Details will be announced at the end of September 2009. On top of accepting both CEPAS-complaint stored value cards and existing NETS CashCard's, the new IU also supports CEPAS-compliant cards that allow for automatic top-up if the remaining stored value is below a pre-determined amount. The top-up feature may be activated at the point the card is purchased. To easily differentiate new from old, the dual-mode unit is 34% to 50% smaller than the current IU, depending on the vehicle class. Car owners are not required to change their current IU to the dual-mode IU. Nevertheless, motorists who wish to change to the new IU may do so at LTA Authorised Inspection Centres at a cost of $150 (before GST and inclusive of installation). Motorists are advised to call the Centres beforehand to make an appointment. Since the introduction of the dual-mode IU last year, more than 17,300 vehicles have been fitted with the new IU. This comprises 14,900 motorcycles from September 2008 and 2,400 taxis/other vehicles from March 2009. For enquiries on the dual-mode IU, motorists may call LTA at 1800 CALL LTA (1800 225 5582).

Question for my brudders here if I cut off the wires to the erp in-car unit and I drive through a gantry. What will happen? Will I have free entry as the detector will not detec a signal from my car?

Hi all, After driving for so many years, then I realised something with the cash card holder...after inserting cash card, does the small green light indicator remains light up as long cash card is insert or it should goes off after couples of mins? The green light indicator on my unit remain lights up and didn't goes off...only realised till now bcos I all the while using the cover on the unit, only when I remove the cover yesterday then notice this green light thinggy....
