  1. LONDON, Jan 22 - American International Group Inc <AIG.N> has kicked off the sale of its Asian life assurance unit in the hope of raising up to $20 billion to help repay a U.S. government loan, the Financial Times reported on Thursday. The U.S. insurer sent a sales memorandum for American International Assurance to a group of selected potential bidders, the newspaper quoted "people close to the situation" as saying. AIG declined comment on the report. The Financial Times said AIA is regarded as a jewel in AIG's crown. It has 20 million policyholders in 13 countries and last year made an aggregate operating profit of about $2 billion. Analysts estimate the sale of a minority stake could fetch up to $20 billion, it said. The newspaper said AIG had sought bids for 49 percent of AIA, but would be willing to look at offers for the entire unit. AIG could also opt for a full listing of the division if it does not achieve a high enough price, the report said. Prospective bidders include China Life <601628.SS>, HSBC <HSBA.L> <0005.HK>, British insurer Prudential Plc <PRU.L> and U.S. life insurer Prudential Financial Inc <PRU.N>, the report said. Canada's Manulife Financial <MFC.TO> and Germany's Allianz <ALVG.DE> have also requested information, it added. First-round bids are due towards the end of February, it said. AIG, once the world's biggest insurer by market value, averted bankruptcy in September with an $85 billion federal government bailout. The rescue later swelled to about $152 billion. AIG has said it plans to sell everything except its U.S. property and casualty business, foreign general insurance, and an ownership interest in some foreign life operations.

  4. Hi experts, I am thinking of either installing: 1)Pioneer DVD 6050 with Pioneer sound processor or 2) Alpine 502 plus 701 sound processor. May I know what is the current price for the above options? In you opinion, which option is better and why? Thanks
  5. Has anyone getting the new car with the new In Vehicle Unit (IU) recently? Read from the news few week back it has been introduced, the overall dimension of the unit is slimmer and it now support contact-less Cashcard.
  6. I am getting my new FIT in a couple of day time. Need to know where to install a head unit cheap cheap? And also I bought a single din unit but my car is double din slot. What to do with the empty lobang any suggestion?
  7. Room's blower unit just kapoot after 9 yrs. Compressor is running but blower unit is not, was told circuit board and motor has decided to call it quits, it was rattling badly prior to that. As its an EOL unit, replacement is not available and I will have to purchase a new set. Appreciate it if the bros & sis here could recommend some brands, is it true that new piping is required for models with a four tick energy efficient rating? Sleeping with mosquito coil and fan tonight, inner tights will definitely be wet and sticky. Thanks.
  8. SUSPECTING her husband of adultery, a Taiwanese woman from Taoyuan decided to install a Global Positioning System (GPS) unit and a tape recorder in his car. Both of them helped provide evidence of his acts. And she will be suing for adultery for the second time in five years, reported Apple Daily Taiwan. SECOND AFFAIR? The man had been allegedly having sex with a woman in his car.The two denied they were having an affair. But the woman, who sent a private eye to trail them using the GPS, found pieces of tissue paper he used to clean up after the act.He had apparently thrown them out of the car window. The tape also recorded sounds of their lovemaking, providing more ammunition for her suit. Five years ago, the man and his lover had an affair, and even had a daughter as a result. They were found guilty in court and fined after the woman sued them for adultery. But it seemed that the husband, 40, who works as a go-between for foreign workers and employers, had rekindled his love affair with the other woman, 28, two years ago. That was when the wife found out from another person that they had allegedly gone on holiday in Indonesia together. They were also allegedly seen touring a kindergarten together. So last year, the wife installed the GPS and tape recorder in his car. The man was apparently aware that the GPS unit had been installed in his car. Despite this, he apparently still stopped his car by a side road and had sex with the other woman for 20minutes. In fact, he even claimed later that the reason he flung out the tissue paper was to lure whoever was trailing him out into the open. On Tuesday, the wife sued the alleged lover for causing harm to family. But she did not sue the husband this time because she hoped he would return to her. The prosecuting lawyer asked her client why she didn't divorce her husband now he has cheated on her twice. The woman told him: "To retain the completeness of my family. I don't want my husband to leave me. I am willing to forgive him. I believe he will come back to my side." Be Careful when U want to Fcuk around [laugh]

If i have a budget of $400 (Inclusive installation), is that any good and value for money units that you could recommend? For new car, is it also advisable to change all the cabling? Saw in some magazines that one can get reasonable cabling works for $80. Hope to hear from everyone soon. Cheers

  13. I was completely blown away by this one. This is Sesame Street's parody of L&O: Special Victims Unit. Brilliant! Absolutely Brilliant! I heard Dick Wolf likes it a lot and encourages Sesame Street to go through with all the letters of the alphabet. The muppets look just like the actual series actors. They use the actors real names. Meloni and Mariska.
  14. This might be the next trend after recent cash card stolen cases : www.katu.com/r?19=950&32=3226&7=109991&40=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.katu.com%2Fhome%2Fvideo%2F15546217.html%3Fvideo%3DYHI%26t%3Da&41=Video+GPS+units+a+hot+item+-+for+thieves&18=0.19370652902813024

Yes this post is a modification to wat bro Passion posted. the gahmen always say "no double standards" so F1 cars, being cars, also should have ERP unit installed. and yes let the world laugh at us. btw, i know its impossible but i'm just saying it to vent my anger. its getting preposterous. imagine next time just outside ur hdb house carpark got erp. then the next day they happily announce that more COEs will be released =====> More jam equal increase ERP rates
