Now we bet the the driver of this truck will be regretting really hard about driving after having some drinks. Spotted on Beh Chia Lor's Facebook page and some of our Whatsapp group chats, is this video of a trailer truck crashing into an HDB block at Block 152 Yung Ho Road. It happened on 16 Nov 2020. Thankfully, the tree that the truck knocked down managed to stop it from crashing into one of the first level HDB unit. Rest In Peace, tree... Hi all Need some professional advice. Staying on ground floor unit condo. I wish to install a retractable canopy over my PES. I check with Mgt office. Well, i was advised to check with BCA on approved ones and also to wrote to MCST for permission. And i might be asked to present during AGM. The mgt office advised me to do it concurrently so that if the MCST ask for BCA advice or approved types of canopy. I'm thinking, instead of getting info from BCA, can i just ask some professional advice from canopy contractors on restrictions? If yes, any one can recommend any contractor for this? How can i deal with MCST ppl? LOL

Hey bros, Long story short, I bought an Android head unit that was supposed to be compatible with Renault Clio. But turns out it's only compatible with the wiring harness of the lower spec version of my car. The spec sold in Singapore comes with a TomTom unit which uses a different set of connectors. Hi Guru, My KIA K5 head unit went off suddenly. Hi, anyone using a head-up digital speedometer? MIne was installed 10yrs ago, not sure if any accessories shop still carrying it. Already used to check the HU for speed instead of the dash original speedometer, anyway, both reading doesn't match which I usually trust the add on one.

I used to use FSM but realised they were a bit pricey so I switched to Dollardex which I really liked until they changed a lot of their graphs and log ins. Dear all car lovers, Would like to seek some advise here on what am experiencing now. My car IU unit suddenly turn with Green Light "Hard On". Even with cash card removed and engine power off. Is there a way to perform a Hardware reset to the IU unit ? Or I have to send to the authorized workshop to get it repair / replace. Any advise to be shared will be much appreciated. Regards.

Hi all, I be collecting my new car soon and most likely it will be bare with all accessories fixed outside by myself. Can i check which sequence of the above mention accessories is better to install first and reasons? My friend was telling me solar film then followed by car camera as the car camera need to stick on the windscreen so better put the film first else the camera will need to be removed when installing the film.. sounds logical.. so anyone has any advice? the items i am planning to install is solar film, front and back camera and head unit with reverse camera.

It's my first time buying a property, encountered problems with the defects rectification process and the mgt. Appreciate advice from experienced property buyers. Condo developer is a big established one, didn't expect the unit to be handed over in a bad and uncompleted condition. Moreover TOP of this condo has been delayed for 4 months. Among many other defects, the kitchen cabinet has many misalignments, a drawer track wasn't installed and was lying in the drawer (see pics), discoloration of cabinet surfaces, deep scratches on solid table top and stainless steel backing. Skirting missing. Chips on bathroom basin top. Marble flooring in living room was not polished and looks used. Dents on doors. After joint inspection with construction supervisor and developer Rep, I handed a key to them to do defects. Few days later I checked, nth has been done as expected. But neighbour who already moved in alerted that the workers have been entering my unit at 9+pm, wearing t-shirts and shorts, since the day I handed a key to the construction supervisor. I called defects team the next day and was advised to email my complaint. As expected, no reply nor response. Though they did a few minor defects. The big items like flooring etc all left undone. Only 2 weeks left before the one month defect rectification deadline is up, have a feeling they may tell me that those are not defects or not able to rectify. Or they may request more time though I already told them I need vacate my current residence by June. Though I can rectify the defects on my own after the one month and claim from developer, I'm not sure what complications may arise. Like developer not honouring the claim? I'm gg to meet a Rep from construction team regarding the defects. What stance should I take? Anyone with experience to advise?

A Temasek Holdings Pte unit offered to buy Olam International Ltd. It is also making an offer for Olam’s outstanding bonds and warrants. Temasek, Singapore’s state-owned investment firm, became the largest investor in Olam, one of the world’s top three coffee and rice traders, after concerns raised by short-seller Block in November 2012 caused the stock to plummet. The offer has the support of Olam’s founding family and management, with some agreeing to sell a proportion of their shares to the bidding group. “Temasek is already a large holder of Olam so they probably know the business better than everybody else,” said Robert Aspin, the Singapore-based head of equity investment strategy at Standard Chartered Plc. “The fact that they are willing to pay a premium is indicative of the value that they see in the underlying business.” Olam has rallied 30 percent this year through March 12 in Singapore, compared with a 2.2 percent decline in the benchmark Straits Times Index. The stock, which closed as low as S$1.395 after Block’s attack, reached a near 17-month high of S$1.995 on March 12. Credit Suisse Group AG, DBS Group Holdings Ltd., and United Overseas Bank Ltd. advised Breedens. Breedens doesn’t plan to make any major changes to Olam’s businesses or terminate employees. It also intends to keep Olam as a listed company, unless the minimum float requirements aren’t met, it said. “We believe a successful offer will provide Olam with a stronger and more stable shareholder base to support Olam’s strategy and business model for the long term,” Breedens Director David Heng said in the statement. “We have invested in Olam over the years, and share a common investment philosophy to invest and build for the long term.” Block’s Bet Block said in November 2012 he was betting against Olam because he questioned the trader’s accounting methods and asset purchases, pushing the stock to a more than three-year low in December 2012. Olam rejected the assertions by Block and his research firm Muddy Waters LLC. Block today declined to comment. “Olam has been oversold following the issues raised by Muddy Waters and has bounced back strongly as the company addressed those concerns,” Alan Richardson, a Hong Kong-based money manager at Samsung Asset Management, said by phone before the announcement. As well as adding Olam shares after the Block allegations, Temasek also backed a $750 million bond sale by the commodity trader. Olam said in December 2012 it planned to sell bonds and warrants to address any “lingering doubts” about its finances. The investment firm agreed at the time to buy any rights not taken up by other investors. Olam is a supplier and processor of agricultural products and food ingredients across 16 platforms in 65 countries. Temasek holds 24.6 percent of Olam through its units Breedens and Aranda Investments Pte, and the founding family has a 20.2 percent stake, according to today’s statement. -
