Hi all, I am looking for the plastice frame that is fixed around our head unit. Anyone knows where do they sell this or anyone selling? My HU is pioneer 6850.

My friend has a old COE car, his ERP IU screen is spoilt. Understand the warranty for the IU is 5 years - should be over by now. He was quoted $150+ by Vicom for a new unit. Is there such thing as second hand IU units from deregistered cars ? Anyone know if its possible to find one from a scrapyard, fit and go to LTA to update the IU number on records ?

I'm driving a Civic ES5. Want to run a small lenght of cable to the top of the dash near the ERP unit. Can any1 give me pointers on how to do it. I suspect need to loosen the 3 bolts (14mm) located at the right side of the dash facing the driver's door. Cos they have scratch marks from been handled by a socket.

Hi, Currently my car has a Sony head unit. not too sure about the model. I was wondering that if i were to buy another Sony head unit, lets say something that can play MP3. Will i still be able to use the connecting cables at the back? Secondly, the cables at the back connected to the head unit. Is it just solely for Sony head units only? Cos i saw a Pioneer head unit that its rather good and im tempted to get it too. Thanks

Heard that are HU with built in USB port to play MP3 stored on your thumpdrive. Any one has been using one?

wanna ask ice sifoo here got tis problem with my head unit.... using pioneer dh2750 hu encounter this after for 5 minute sound suddenly gone....but display still lighted....on off back after 10 min problem still presist after 5 min of music sound mati liao....ask around kaki say it audio chip kaput liao.... it is true? how much to rectified the problem...thank you!!!

Hi there ... any1 know whether there are EQ settings set by ICE gurus for use in the later Pioneer HUs i.e. 6850 and upwardz. These can be the recmd or ideal EQ settings for say jazz, heavy metal music, rock, vocals etc. which we can use and save as "custom" EQ settings ... thanks in adv..

Hi all, just want to get some feedback from you guys. Am totally new to this ICE upgrading and will need lots of advice from guru (hell, i don't even know tune the sound is for what purposes) Anyway, am looking for an head unit to upgrade to. I am looking for the range of below S$450.00. Brand wise, i am not too particular so long can read mp3. If can aux to my iPOD, that will be lagi better. Saw some second hand ones selling of Yahoo! auction. Like a Pioneer (no warrenty) DEH-7550 going for S$S$400.00. Is it worth it? While i am at at, do i need to consider changing my front 2 speakers? I am driving a Matrix.. Thanks for all ya feedback!

In JDM Accord or most JDM cars, the built-in audio HU FM receiver is suited for the japanese radio spectrum. I think Japanese band is from 70MHz to 89MHz. While Singapore is 88MHz to 106MHz. When you get a JDM car from PI, they will provide a converter for the FM receiver to set down Singapore band to the Japanese band. The set down is about 17 MHz. This means when you want to hear Class 95, you tune the HU to 95-17 =78MHz. The problem is that the bloody display will shows 78MHz when you are listening to class95. Any solutions? Can't change the HU as it is a built-in.

Hi, My 20K is coming up soon and I am re-thinking about not changing my Aveo's dryer unit. GM has recommended changing the aircond dryer unit every 20km. My question is, why does GM recommend this replacement if it is not necessary? I don't think that SA printed this in our service manual, it has to be from GM. My son has a Hyundai, I must check his service manual to see if they recomend this replacement too. Any ideas please? I have to make an expensive decision soon.

this sony xplod head unit is with me for 4 years. works all the way but just starting from 2 weeks ago, the FM radio got problem. it works when i switch to a radio channel but only about 5 seconds. after that it turns into silence. the cd playing part works fine. anyone encouters this problem? not sure where i can get it fixed.

I just kenne my second summon to go LTA to check my IU unit. Apprently my car went thru the ERP gantry twice and data was not recorded fully. It all started after i done my tinting at Perfect Flims and now every month I have to go down LTA to drink coffee. The inspector mentioned that the tinting cause IU response to "lagg" and therefore the gantries fail to fully read, making it look like a faulty IU. He advised me to remove the tint if this happens again...... He has also asked me to drive thru the gantry slowly to give the gantry time to react to the lagging IU unit..... I dun think i drive beli fast watz....how slow they want me to go ?
