  1. Spot A Rogue PMD Rider? MyTransport.SG App Will Soon Let You Submit Photo, Video Complaints As the period for e-scooter registration is coming to a close, the Land Transport Authority (LTA)’s new rules will be in effect starting 1 July. From then onwards, it will be an offence if you’re found riding an unregistered e-scooter on public paths. Commuters and retailers should note that enabling someone else to ride an unregistered e-scooter, and selling or leasing non-UL2272 certified personal mobility devices (PMDs) for use on public paths, are also prohibited. To make it easier to enforce these rules, the LTA hopes to give the public a more accessible channel to report cases of misconduct. The authority has said it is “working on an enhancement” to its MyTransport.SG app so that users can soon upload photos and videos if they come across errant PMD riders. You can download MyTransport.SG for iOS here and Android here. Before the update is rolled out into the app, people can lodge complaints and feedback on LTA’s website in the meantime. Things To Know If You’re An E-Scooter RiderSince registration opened on 2 January 2019, there have already been more than 75,000 e-scooters registered across Singapore. If you own an e-scooter and haven’t registered it yet, it’s still not too late—you have until 30 June to get it done at LTA’s OneMotoring website. Registrants must be at least 16 years old, and will have to declare that their device is compliant to criteria, which includes having a maximum weight of 20kg and a top speed of 25km/h. False declarations can result in fines of up to $5,000 and a year’s imprisonment. Once you’ve completed the process, you will be issued a unique registration number, and you’re required to affix both the Identification Mark bearing this number and an LTA Registration Mark on your e-scooter. After 1 July, those found riding unregistered e-scooters on public paths can face fines of up to $2,000 and up to three months’ jail for a first-time offence. Additionally, all e-scooters used on public paths must be certified to the UL2272 standard by 1 January 2021. Existing owners of non-UL2272 certified PMDs purchased before 1 July 2019 can still register and use them until December 2020, after which they will be automatically deregistered. Not sure if your e-scooter falls within the accepted standard? You can find LTA’s list of UL2272 certified PMDs available in Singapore here.
  2. Hi guys, Marbella seems to be a up and coming dashcam brand in Singapore. Was looking for reviews on brand but found them in different threads on model specifics. So thought I start a brand thread so all can share their thoughts in one thread for easy ref. My ITB100SPW which have served me 5years (with battery changed in between) seems to be dying. I'm looking at Marbella KR8S / 6S but realised there are very limited reviews on Marbella dashcams. Read in forum they used to have video downloading issues but seems to have been resolved with new app in 2018. Read another user had recording time gap between video files. Wonder if other users experience this as well. Would love to hear your reviews for Marbella. Thanks for your contribution.
  3. Dear all, Anyone using Thinkware F800 Pro here? I am using it now and I find that the camera is not sharp compared to my previous iTronics car camera so I like to check with fellow users here whether yours also having same issue as mine. Thanks.
  4. How many of you actively use this? https://www.police.gov.sg/e-services/report/feedback-on-road-users According to article in 2016, TP says they get 500 submissions a month. Probably more now. https://www.tnp.sg/news/singapore/traffic-police-keep-sending-photos-videos-errant-road-users I just submitted a case where someone blatantly beat a red light. But I don't know what will come out of it since I don't think there is a way to check the status (short of contacting TP to follow up on the feedback I filed). As with all things, I understand there will be two camps...and I am sure some will tell me "Aiyah maybe he has an emergency, etc etc." However, I can't buy that every time, and have chosen to be on the other side of the fence. Naturally, I expect to be accorded the same treatment as a result. Also, many people complain about others not signaling; you can even report those if you wish. Like that I think TP one day can receive thousands of cases already. Lol. (Failure to signal attracts a $70 but no points iirc.) Sadly, deterrence seems to be the most efficient and effective tool. Thoughts?
  5. I've BlackVue on the front windscreen. Isit necessary to install another set at the rear just incase someone kiss your bumper and you've solid proof to show your insurance for damages claim. Anyone done before?
  6. Hi there, Being surfing and ponder to get Sony XAV-64BT earlier. But i was wavered when i saw Alpine ICS-X8. The features seems cool and very driver friendly in terms of shortcuts like Blue Tooth with phone book mapping, auto answer feature, steering wheel remote, mirror link, etc. Does anyone out there own this unit? I am using an Android phone and this seems to work well in this unit. I am concerned about the GPS navigation as this unit does not support in-house and navigation works with a phone with GPS feature via mirror link. How stable is this feature and any bugs identified? Thank you.
  7. THINKWARE / INAVI users, any feedback from you. Installed mine THINKWARE INAVI FXD700 some 3 weeks ago and was very happy with the unit. Have upgraded to the 'English' version and ha..ha..., missed the sweet Korean voices everytime switch on the unit. Think same voice used in 'English' version but wondering if it is the same girl. As it comes with a rear cam, I had also just installed a small screen to view what had been recording and using the rear cam to assist in reversing. Just curious to find out if there are any other problems users face.

  11. Good morning all, Calling all the bros who are using these tyres to give your user reviews with many thanks. I am planning to purchase these over the GYF1A2 as I would have savings of about $80 per corner. I'm looking at 225/40/18 size. I'm also told the tyre thread is almost similar to the GYF1A2 too!? Cheers,

  13. Isn't it frustrating that there is no bluetooth app or shortcut to toggle the on/off switch. And you have to do the settings>general>bluetooth. I know Android have plenty of apps to do this. Now there's a way, follow the instructions in this link http://supersmartme.posterous.com/bluetoot...hone-homescreen. On your iphone type this on the homepage of safari http://brdrck.me/settings/ dan select the icons you want. It's free to install. If you have to pay means something is wrong somewhere. Maybe some savy IT ppl here already knew about this but nevermind, I'm sharing it for all those who is clueless like me who frequently use bluetooth to connect to the car's HU. Actually mine is not HU it's a Belkin hands free which can listen to mp3, mtv, gps navigation on the iphone http://www.belkin.com/sg/IWCatProductPage....oduct_Id=542721. I created a shortcut for bluetooth, wifi & hotspot which I use quite often. Credit goes to the guy who created this, Jeff Broderick.

  16. SINGAPORE - The SMRT will triple its travel discount scheme to 30 cents from Oct 8 in an effort to entice commuters to travel earlier and ease congestion on the trains during morning peak hours. The discount will also be extended by another 15 minutes to 7.45am. The SMRT now offers a 10-cent discount to adults and senior citizens entering from stations along the North-South and East-West lines outside the city area and exiting at nine selected stations within the city area before 7.30am from Monday to Saturday. The nine stations are Bugis, City Hall, Dhoby Ghaut, Lavender, Orchard, Outram Park, Raffles Place, Somerset and Tanjong Pagar. The SMRT will also conduct joint trials with the Land Transport Authority on demand management measures to incentivise commuters to shift their travel times away from peak periods. More details on this initiative will be announced when ready. The SMRT has set aside S$5 million for the two demand management schemes. When asked why SBS Transit is not introducing similar demand management measures, Public Transport Council chairman Gerard Ee said that SBS Transit - which predominantly runs buses - is "having a tough time". Last year, the company's Return on Total Assets (ROTA), an indicator of profitability, fell 1.5 per cent to stand at 7.8 per cent. The SMRT, meanwhile, had a higher ROTA of 11.2 per cent last year, even though it also saw a 0.8 per cent decrease from a year before. With the authorities planning to ramp up bus services and tighten the quality of service standards, Mr Ee said: "I would worry taking S$5 million from the buses. I can only see the costs going up." Commuters that Today spoke to appeared mixed in their responses to SMRT's discount scheme. Accounts executive Jeremy Wu, who travels from his Tampines home to the city for work, said: "The discount is not a lot. I would rather take my time to get ready for work." But clerk Chin Pei Pei welcomed the extension in the timing as she starts work at 8am: "(It) could go some way to offsetting my transport costs." Mr Ee acknowledged that the 15-minute extension "may not sound a lot", but is confident "a lot of people will take advantage" of the discount scheme. By saving 30 cents a day, commuters could give themselves a nice breakfast treat once a week, Mr Ee quipped. LEONG WEE KEAT ---I just felt that the public transport service should be catering to the needs of people travelling During Peak hours? Usually people who travel on trains during the peak hours do so for necessity, like reporting to work... If cannot travel using public transport during peak hours, considering the fact that you will also be heavily charged for driving during peak hours, I guess the only other option is to walk or cycle to work!
  17. Using Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) to browse the web? Your IQ score is likely to be lower than someone using Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera. A new study published by online psychometric testing company AptiQuant Psychometric Consulting Co. has found that a user's choice of web browser is related to their cognitive ability. "There was a clear indication...that the subjects using any version of Internet Explorer ranked significantly lower on an average than others," said Aptiquant. Out of all the IE versions, "subjects using IE 8 [fared] a little better." People using Opera, Camino and IE with Chrome Frame scored slightly higher than their not-so-bright Internet Explorer-using friends, suggesting that people with a lower IQ "tend to resist a change/upgrade of their browsers." "There was no significant difference in the IQ scores between individuals using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Apple's Safari; however, it was on an average higher than IE users," said Apitiquant. More than 100,000 people in USA, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand took the online Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (IV) test in the space of four weeks and their IQ scores were correlated with their browser choice for the study.

I cut off the wire connecting to the siren but the blinking of light remains. I lost the instruction manual and I remember there is an instruction on how to deactivate the alarm by pressing the red button on the dash of the car. Could anyone help me on this?

So my question is, what are the recommended gauges you guys normally see? In terms of engine's health, what is the gauges best for monitoring? MAP? CWT/FWT? FIA/CIA? LOD? TPS? VLT? I already have water/fuel temp gauges and vacumn gauges.
