  3. All of us have heard of people who "chope" seats in hawker centres/coffee shops/libraries etc using tissue paper packs, plastic shopping bags, pack of cigs, newspapers etc. This is the first time I have ever heard of anyone who "chope" a parking lot by just using his eyes........ http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/viewPost6541.aspx Very uniquely Singapore!!!!!!!
  4. Hello all. I've been seriously considering venturing into using a RO to achieve better results than by hand. 1) Which is a good RO? Is the Porter Cable 7424 good? Where to get it locally? 2) What kind of pads do I need? Edge/Lake Country? 3) Where can I learn how to use a RO properly? 4) Is the Menzerna system of polishes recommended? The only thing that's preventing me from going ahead is the fact that using a RO wrongly can burn the paint. Would appreciate any advice from those who have experience in RO. Like Gen2?
  5. Hi guys, Which car mat are you using for your Aveo? I am thinking of purchasing a second set of car mat, but not sure if I should buy back the original "Chevrolet" brand. Any recommendations that is around the same price range?

  7. Hi guys, to use our electrical appliance items in USA (San francisco, las vegas), is it sufficient to just use an adapter? or do i need to use some kind of converter since USA power outlet is 110V? And is it using the 2 blade adapter or the 2 blades and 1 pin above? Thanks =)
  8. Brothers, Need to check with those fitted with illuminated scuff plate for your car? Currently the scuff plate installed in my car seems that water can enter into the scuff plate resulting the illuminated portion got problem with the connection and even certain portion without light. Is this normal for all the illuminated scuff plate? I thought the scuff plate should be water proof?

  10. Moderators, pardon me if I have posted in wrong folder. Was wondering whether this should go Aftermarket or Rubber/Wheels folder. I've searched for spacers, and its a taboo topic in the past. But with well-known manufacturers like Eibach having a wide pro-spacer product series, I would think that the technology has improved. Anyone who have been using spacers for a while, those bolt-on type, any comments or feedback? My application is for aestetics purpose, though it can improve handling marginally.

  15. Hi, I just bought a installed a new cordless phone in my home and it seems to be interferring with my internet connection. The moment the cordless phone is picked up to make or receive a call, my singnet connection is disconnected. I have 3 phone sockets at home: socket 1 : normal analog phone with an ADSL filter socket 2 : normal analog phone, ADSL modem and ADSL filter socket 3 : cordless DECT phone w/o ADSL filter I was previously using another cordless phone at socket 3 but it didnt give any problems at all. Both the old and new cordless phone don't work if an ADSL fllter is installed on socket 3. My current cordless phone is a Siemens DECT phone. I will appreciate if anyone can advise me here. Do I need to install some kind of special ADSL filter to be used with a DECT phone? thanks very much!
  16. Hi, I am exploring using a pressure washer from karcher to wash cars. I understand that one can attach a foam lance to it so that it can dispense detergent. Would washing a car this way, without the use of any mitts be clean? Essentially, i use the high pressure spray nozzle to wash off dirt, then attach the foam / soap lance followed by another final spray down bia the pressure washer. Appreciate any thots from enthusiast who may have tried this technique. thanks!
  17. Hi Saw this technique to undo dents in autoblog. Looks interesting. Anyone tried? http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/29/video-c...compressed-air/ The idea is to heat up the dent to soften the metal and use compress hair to force the metal to contract and hopefully the dent pop out like in the video. Worst case is the super cooled part cracked and falls off... haha..
  18. Hi guys, I have a colleague driving a Subaru TS. It comes with a factory 2 din HU. Any suggestions on what to do to be able to use an Ipod in the car? I know there are some HUs out there that have Ipod inputs and also there are adapters as a cheap alternative. I dont know much abt ICE. Budget is about $500 - $700? I was looking at the Alpine Website...their solution looks fantastic, it even charges the Ipod on the go. I had the impression that most actually uses the Ipod battery to drive the music into the HU right? All solutions are welcomed and will be pondered upon!
  19. Just to check with anyone whether you know anyone doing customised illuminated scuff plates using LED? Do share with me if you know of any, thanks.

  23. Just happen to see some new Honda City belonging to SSDC - SGR plates while passing by AMK today. 'K poh' & went to check out the SSDC website & realised that they have just bought new Honda Citys for training. extract from SSDC website:- "With effect from 15 March 07, the new Honda City Manual Transmission Vehicle will be used for Traffic Police Practical Test. All students are reminded to attend practical revision lessons using the new Honda City vehicle before their test." Me used to be a SSDC students trained using the Honda Civic. If i not wrong , only SSDC is using Honda cars for all their students! Maybe Honda cars are good to take all the hard 'whacking' & 'abuses' by newbie students.
  24. Is it a good idea to use a blower to dry the car? I was told that limiting contact with the paintwork will help prevent scratches.
