Looking for cheap mid-size car with 2-3 years left. Realized that Cefiro, Mz6 and Legacy got lower depreciation. My requirement will be: 1) Reliability to drive till scrap 2) Handling 3) Space for rear passengers 4) 5 seaters Brand, Power or FC not so important for me. Budget around $9k/year depreciation. Or should i get Civic 1.8 for its reliability? Looking to drive till scrap so re-sale value not important

Was more conscious of expiry dates after marrying my wife.. So one day, i checked the expiry dates of some Value$ shop items which had such low prices compared to anywhere else.. guess what? All were expired! Few weeks later, which was yesterday, i passed by another Value$ shop, checked their expiry date for just 1 item, expired since 3 months ago!!!

Im helping a fren of mine to find out certain info: 1) Which are the Hot favourites COE Cars (Civic ESI, Colt etc.)? 2) Is Insurance Expensive for 1st time owner w/o NCD 25 to 30 yrs old male? 3) What are the things to look out for when Viewing or Test Driving the Car? 4) Is there any scrap value for COE when the Car is fully utilise until COE Expired on 20th yr? 5) If there isn't any scrap value, must owner fork out $$$ to get it scrap if he decided not to renew the COE after the no. 20th yr? -

Hi All, noticed in used cars market, 2009 Avante and Altis resale value is very high around 60k to 70k+ :angry: , even higher than 2009 honda civic, if i'm not wrong in 2009 brand new Avante and Altis only were 40k+ and 50k+ respectively, after 3 years using, still can earn 20k, it's extreme value of money onyone know Y?

How to pay very little, better still nothing, but feel song? Air is free, there must be other things even though not free but still cheap and make people song. (pls don't count pcc) For food, some places sell $2 wanton mee which is yummy and eating it is song till jurong

Went to Sakae Sushi in Parkway Parade recently with wifey for lunch. Ordered the premium set for 2 at about $35, comprises of 2 bowls of rice with grilled fish, chicken, beef, vegetable, fois-gras, etc, with most of the items prepared from the teppanyaki counter there. Very very satisfying meal, as concurred by my wife, and definitely worth the money for the quality. The grilled beef is very tender and all the meats are full of flavour. Should be able to substitute beef with other meat for those who does not take beef. Chanced upon my wife's acquaintance who worked there, that the promotion is ending in 2 months time due to mis-calculation in costs, such that the restaurant is not earning much from it at all. So, enjoy there while still available. Will not regret. Disclaimer: I do not work there. And Sakae Sushi definitely does not need me to do any promotion, judging by the crowd there.

Got fined for passing erp w/o inserting cash card on saturday. i ve cash card inserted most of the time but becos went JB on friday so remove card prevent break-in. but forgot to reinsert cash card when return to sg. my qns is when ur card value is below $5, UI will alarm every time u pass under an erp. why no warning when no cash card when u pass under an erp when the erp is not in operation? there will be a long beep if no cash card when the erp is in operation but then too late already. is this feature too difficult to implement?

Four- to five-room flats will pay $5 to $29 more for the year. This comes after the Annual Values (AV) of HDB flats are revised upwards with effect from 1 January 2012, reflecting the rise in market values. To mitigate the increase in the property tax payable by lower and middle income households as a result of the AV revision, the Government will give a one-off rebate of $55 to Owner-Occupied HDB flats. This will enable three room flat owners to see little change in property tax payable despite higher flat values. It will also reduce the increase in tax payable for four- and five- room flat owners. AV increase for HDB flats The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) reviews the AVs of all properties including HDB flats annually. The AV is used as a basis to compute the property tax payable. Property tax is calculated at 10% of the AV for non Owner-Occupied homes. For Owner-Occupied homes, property tax payable is calculated at the concessionary tax rates as follows: The AVs of all HDB flats were last revised on 1 January 2010, taking into account the changes in market rents in 2009. They were not revised in 2011 as the increase in HDB market rents in the preceding year was small. Taking 2010 and 2011 together, market rents have risen by around 20 - 28%. Accordingly, the AVs of all HDB flats will be revised from 1 January 2012. One-time Owner-Occupied HDB Flat Rebate for 2012 6 A rebate will be given to all Owner-Occupied HDB Flats to help them offset some of the increase in property tax. The rebate is a fixed amount of $55 or the property tax based on the 2012 AV, whichever is the lower. The rebate will automatically be given to all Owner-Occupied HDB flats. 7 The rebate will not apply to HDB flats that are not owner-occupied, which are currently being taxed at 10%. 8 94% of all HDB flats owners would receive the rebate. Property Tax Changes for Owner-Occupied HDB Homes 9 All one- and two-room owner-occupiers will continue to pay zero property tax in 2012. Owner-occupiers of three-room flats will see no increase on average, while those in four and five room flats and above will see increases in property tax of between $5 and $29 after taking into account the property tax rebate, as shown below: Combined Valuation Notice and Property Tax Bill 10 Most HDB flat owners should receive their property tax notices and bills by the end of this year, enclosed with an explanatory guide on “Property Tax on HDB Flats for 2012” – the guide explains how the property tax payable is calculated and how payment can be made. Property Tax for 2012 is payable by 31 January 2012 11 Property tax has to be paid by 31 January 2012. IRAS encourages property owners to join the GIRO payment scheme to enjoy up to 12 interest-free monthly instalments. Customers of DBS/POSB and OCBC can apply for GIRO via Internet Banking and receive instant approval. 12 Owners can e-file an objection to IRAS if they do not agree with the revised AVs of their properties. To all the experienced Bro's out here - I was told that the resale value for cars go down if you change the color from the original color. How far is this true? When I mean change of color I don't mean those "look at me bright colors" but general color change. Can you please share your thoughts?

Do you think market value of a car is equals to its paper value plus body? It is only true for a car approaching 10yrs. For a new car, it is furthest away. When one sells his car for eg when car is 5year old, dealer may use paper value to bring down price of car. And when taking loans, banks may use market value to disperse more money and hence earn more interests. Does anyone have any different views?

i went to the West coast outlet and selected 1 packet salmon, 1 packet mejajiki, 1 sanma for the chef to cut when it come to table wow , like cut nicely inot quite a few slices, defineitely more than at restaurants like ichiban or sushi tei. then eat with rice, and order some more fried dishes , in end for 2 come up 60+ are there better value outlest than this?
