  1. Recently Zaobao reported that the actor will seriously consider any invitation to stand for GE. He said: "Based on my interest in politics, plus to my age, if you can stand for the community to make some contribution together with others, I think I will not refuse. If invited, I think it is an honor, I would not easily refusal would seriously consider. " But is Singapore society is able to accept entertainers as members of government? Tay Ping Hui believes that the maturity and acceptance of Singaporeans should not be underestimated. "I firmly believe that all things are possible. Whether actors, singers, or engaged in any work, as long as it was a sincere love of our country, with integrity, character, why not? Important thing, is whether the person can contribute, rather than his occupation. " Tay Ping Hui admitted that the benefit of being a celebrity can help the work of politicians, but ultimately you must rely on personal strengths to serve the people and win the trust of voters. Tay, who has always been concerned about the local political dynamics, hopes that one day he will see cabinet ministers and opposition representatives having hot topic debates on television. "I think this will enhance public awareness of these issues, but also make them more concerned with political development."

  3. Do you support the extension of the Mandatory Give Way to Buses Scheme to more locations to speed up bus travel? http://talk2lta.lta.gov.sg/HomePage?action....Home.QuickPoll Your vote is keep in strict confidential. Just take a look what had happen at our Legend. http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?showtopic=2657873&hl He had was being involved in a traffic accident causing unnecessary delays to others. If that there wasn't any mandatory give way to buses scheme, he would not had stopped and being hit from behind. I believe that the accident had happen in a non-peak period thus traffic delays are manageable. However if that this accident happen in a peak period in a 3 lane road. Closure of 1 lane = less 33.3% efficient + merger of lane 3 to lane 2 causes other % less efficient + safety distance, braking and acceralations delays % less efficient + people looking at Porchse of 4 digits = more delays. And also ambulance to arrive = vehicle had not planned to travel to that destination = more space for another vehicle = delay yet again. Recovery vehicles & cleaning crew = more and more delays. If that the bus have no mandatory give way to buses scheme, bus driver had graciously "give way" to others = improving overall efficent = better flow for the next bus to arrive as well. Solved the bottle neck congestions & overall logistics.
  4. Can't belive Toyothai Altis is Vote for the Best car..... Pay so much for a MIT car???
  5. Ok we know election coming. Say there is a Party whose manifesto is 1. Abolish COE. Say you have a car now, then you need to scrap it before you buy another car. So amount of cars of market is constant. No need further contribution to coffers. 2. HDB at cost price. For the 1st time you buy HDB, it will be at actual cost price, not pegged to resale price like now but applicable only to both spouses being Singaporean. PR etc pay full unsubsidised price. 3. Citizen's CPF will be invested in Temasek/GLC Companies investment automatically so every citizen will enjoy the fruits of growth and better retirement. If you wish to opt out then you will get the usual 2.5%. PR too bad lor :P 4. Every citizen will be give 1 free pass to IR of your choice plus $1,000 to spend on food & beverage :P 5. No need to pump petrol at JB cause petrol tax is abolished and no need to pay mechanic to tamper your fuel gauge & sweat when ICA officer ask you questions. 6. Ok so the question is how to fund the shortfall in taxes. NS; Cut to 6 months. Just have lotsa nukes, so anyone please dont try to be funny. Haha ok before anyone shoot me, this is a pretend manifesto and doesnt claim to solve all of SG woes and doesnt even claim to work. Still would you vote for this Party?

  8. With Singaporeans hyped up about the possible upcoming GE in 2011/12, I'm doing a study into the ground feel of Singaporeans here. It's merely an exercise to pre-determine the level of support.

  14. Hi Everyone! Music is a form of communication that transcends language. It is one of my favourite things and life without music would have NO MEANING ! Now, there are too many genres out there, and it would be impractical to list 'em all in this poll, but I have tried to make each category as broad as possible. Please vote on your fave and let us know, in your chosen genre, which is: 1) Your Fave Band/Singer of ALL TIME 2) Fave Song/s from that Band/Singer 3) Other favourites of yours (music, bands, songs etc...) Many Thanks & Regards!

  16. Hello, There are currently 14 chinese car models on the Singapore roads today! The question is this; which one is the best of them, having the best balance between looks, economy, performance and comfort? Which one would someone want to own and drive? May it be because the car is smooth and comfortable or may it be because it can impress the girls!!! Choose the BEST one with the overall package!!! Thank you!

  19. Take a look at this! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/...-to-babies.html Germany plans to give vote to babies By Harry de Quetteville in Berlin Last Updated: 7:17AM BST 10/07/2008 Dozens of German politicians have tabled a new law to extend voting rights to babies, toddlers, children and teenagers. The bill, which has won the cross-party backing of some heavyweight German politicians, would wipe away decades of "exclusion" and "discrimination" against minors, according to its supporters. Currently the voting threshold in Germany is 18, with an exception in some states, where 16-year-olds are allowed to cast a ballot. But that does not go far enough for the new law's backers, who want to ensure voting rights from cradle to grave. If the bill gets adopted, babies will have the same powers to voice their opinion on government handling of macro-economic performance in a global downturn enjoyed by their parents. Toddlers will be able to take a stand on issues such as whether German armed forces should be deployed abroad. According to the head of the liberal Free Democratic Party
  20. who will you vote in the next general election? why?
  21. WP candidate Opposition party leader Yaw Shin Leong draws online flak for revelation in his blog for voting PAP in 2006 GE. Do you think what he did is alright? I don't think he did anything wrong. he is just exercising his right as a citizen to vote as he chooses. This is a non-political poll. No PAP or WP bashing. Keep your comments to agree or disagree only pls.
