    Bad Car Wash

I am sure we had experienced bad car wash before. But i could not find a topic which blacklist them. So maybe we can share experiences and create a list? Well to start I will blacklist Esso at Stevens Road. Reason: Washers were wearing watches to wash the car. Car is not dried fully, doors and trunk not opened to wipe as well. Damage $7

  7. Some rims have deep/complex patterns, some have deep 'outer ring' (which holds the tyre) that extends almost 1.5 finger-length inside of the spokes. Do you guys wash every single part/spot of the rims? Do you use tools like milk bottle brush to clean these hard-to-reach spots or just use finger/cloth/sponge to 'dig' as far as possible and leave the un-reacheable spots untouched? When you choose your rims, do you also consider ease of maintainance/washing?
  8. Just curious and wanna find out where you guys normally wash your car? Where is a good car wash that you always go to or wash yourself? I see alot of nice nice Exotic car especially, their paintworks is very nice, just wanna know usually where those car got wash. I don't think these are petrol kiosk handwash standards. For me, i will go to JB near NY Hotel there, thought their wash is quite thorough but it's abit troublesome to go in. I found another one at Sin Ming Autopoint which is quite ok too.

  10. dear detailers, Have you tried this car shampoo? It's rather popular in the states. Cannot find it in local stores. If you have purchased this, could you share where you bought it from. Thanks.
  11. Bros, anyone here knows if our men in blue wash their own cars? I have seen police cars at car wash a few times. When I asked the staff there, I was told that the driver of the police car paid by voucher. Am just thinking, if the army washes it's own fleet of vehicles, why can't the men in blue?
  12. Dear detailers, Someone asked if wiping removes wax/sealant earlier. But how about using squeegee after washing your car to remove excess water? Does it remove the wax or sealant? Thanks for sharing.
  13. My first time washing my car at the cck esso next to ite on last sun. While in the Q I had already made payment as the washing bay is big enough for 2 cars to be washed at the sametime, so I am able to see the car in front how they wash. I'm Astonished to see that they uses the same sponge on the car body and the rim/tyre!!! I have been to spc n shell car wash and they uses a separate sponge n is inside a pail. As there is no way I could stop them I just let them proceed and after the washing, I politely asked the guy why he uses the same sponge as if there are sands on the sponge, you might scratch the body. I love his reply and that makes my day. "YOU WASH AT YOUR OWN RISK" Well ok I accepted that and that will b my first and my last visit to this car wash. So drivers take note.
  14. When i was in perth few months ago, rented a car and on the day back to airport, i need to return with the car cleaned, if not they can charge a high fee for the service. On the way to the airport, we saw a car wash station and i drove in. There were 4 washing bay, 3 manual and 1 auto, i forgot the charges think was about $7 for manual and $12 for auto (all using coin operated and the lots are separate by side wall and they are big). The auto was the same as what we had in the petrol station in the past, the manual was fun, it comes with the jetspray, soap, anything you need to wash a car. After that you can proceed to the vacuum, charge $3 and the vacuum is quite powerful and time is long enough to complete the whole car. The station is usually OMO mainly to change coin. I wonder why there is no such thing in Singapore. (i know FT is cheaper to do the job and it is HAND WASH)
  15. This guy hoses down his car for good twenty minutes at a MSCP using a Fire Hydrant. Any body who knows him please inform him, got marney to buy car no marney to wash car. Article from STOMP Link Here http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...#commentSection

  17. Saw my uncle lift the bonnet & spray water directly into his car's engine bay during car wash to wash away dust, the car can still start after. Is this a proper practice?
  18. Recently, my car interior was stained w black oil marks after sending it to a w/s repair. 2 days ago, i drove to JB and hopped into a car wash shop there. this shop has a few outlets w big sign boards. Tot they must be quite good so sent in for interior cleaning. the manager suggested i sign as member to get 8 car wash for $100 reggit plus 1 interior cleaning for $200. Started cleanng at abt 530pm and by 7pm the place got dark and the cleaners used a 4ft florescent tube to illuminate the car interior while cleaning. they finished at abt 9pm. it was dim and the manager told me to go back and come back again if need to touch up. when i drove home, i noticed a deep scratch mark abt 20cm long right infront of my line of vision inside of the windscreen. its irritating cos its distracting esp driving at night when the scratch mark seems obvious w the street lights. Today, i went back to ask the shop manager to clean the interior of the car roof which i think they missed it the last time and also informed him abt the scratch mark which likely cos by the florescent tube when they move around. After they cleaned the roof, the manager said notting he can do abt the scratch mark and kept saying sorry. i told him its ok and accepted that. Do you think i shd replace the tint film? im worry the scratch may be deep and also scratch the glass surface. Or shd i just live w it but its right infront of my sight.....?

  20. She refused to wash off make-up for two years 20-year-old Bae Dal-mi wanted to "look perfect all the time", and even slept with thick make-up on. -AsiaOne Tue, May 03, 2011 AsiaOne For two years, this South Korean lady did not wash her face, reported The Daily Chilli. 20-year-old Bae Dal-mi wanted to "look perfect all the time", and even slept with thick make-up on. She said that she first started applying make-up as a 14-year-old and eventually progressed to thicker, mask-like makeup. She added that the most important object in her life was her mirror, which she keeps by her side at all times. Despite being considered rather pretty, Bae revealed to a South Korean variety show that she was dissatisfied with her appearance and wanted cosmetic surgery on 10 areas of her face. Bae's mother, appalled at her daughter's lack of hygiene, had contacted the variety show in an attempt to force her to change her behavior. A visit to the doctor revealed that Bae's skin was twice her actual age due to the make-up, reported online media. According to experts, leaving make up on for too long not only clogs pores, but can also cause early aging. Clogging up your skin Sleeping in foundation, pressed or loose powder, blusher or any other product that covers your face prevents dead skin cells from sloughing off. This clogs pores and triggers breakouts, according to Paula Begoun, author of 18 best-selling books, including "Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me". In addition, as "cosmetics can hold on to pollution", leaving them on your skin means that one can "end up sleeping with a load of free radicals on your skin" which can cause early aging, said dermatologist Dr Howard Sobel in an article by Allure Magazine. To prevent these, former-beauty editor Snezna Kerekovic advises women to cleanse their skin at least twice a day, in the morning and at night. Proper facial cleansing involves massaging a cleanser on the face for 30 seconds to "loosen up" makeup oils and dirt, according to Dr Sobel. Bae finally removed her make-up in front of the camera. The unusual 'reveal' showed a young woman who looks far more attractive than her made-up self.
  21. 1. Caltex Braddell: half-assed quickie semi-wash and dry
  22. Hello all, As above, where can I buy them? Thanks
  23. I need some advice from expert here. After washing the car immediately drive to park (MSCP). The next day, start the car and want to drive. Release hand brake. Put to "D". Car would not move. Press on the accelerator still would not move. Can feel that the break is biting on the disc. Need to press accelerator harder. A loud "Dong" sounds like now the "glue" is broken. Car suddenly jerk forward abit (now I have to step on brake). After that car can drive as normal. Its like the brake pad stick to the disc when it is wet after washing. And remain stick to the dick after one day and glued to it. This only happen after washing car and park for one day. Anybody experience this ?
