  1. I tend to wipe my car regularly with spray detailer and spray wax every other days. However i do not wash my cloth every time after using the cloth. Somehow i read in other threads that the wax on the cloth will cake. Can i check with you guys, how often you wash the MF cloth? Every single time u use it with a speed detailer? or Spray wax?? Paste wax, liquid wax, polish or sealant, i will wash after use. But how about spray wax and detailer?
  2. have you seen drivers like this behave in public car park stealing water from locked water tap and fire hyrant to wash their car? anyway to stop them? or should just allow them to use it since its the govt lost and not ours?
  3. As above. Usually goto pup Thomson caltex for car wash. However interior of my car getting very dirty. Need to find someone who vacuum (wiping would be bonus) as well. Any reasonably priced ones out there?
  4. Hi all, I am looking for good car shampoo that do wash and wax at the same time, any good recommendation? Is Autoglym good? I found this online: http://www.fasteronline.co.uk/Autoglym-aut...00ml-p-428.html Autoglym - Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo 500ml Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner contains special additional ingrediants which form a glossy water-repellant barrier to protect and extend the effect of Autoglym polishes. It also contains rust inhibitors and cleaning agents that will not leave your car unprotected but actually Is it a type of wash and wax?
  5. Hey guys, as above topic. I find it very hard to shampoo, rinse etc the very top of the car. Recently, I started bringing down a knee-height wooden stool but it's hard work getting up and down. Just want to find out how do you guys do it? I notice the kiosks' car washes usually have a mop-like thingy but wana find out how DIY washers do it
  6. Saw it today on Inventions, shown on Channelnews Asia. They did a 15 min feature from how the owner was thinking of improving his car wash without hassle and wastage of water. Visit http://www.carwash.com.sg/. Looks pretty interesting. I may get it. $70 only. Any thoughts?

  9. I rarely have time to wash my car so 3 years ago when my friends adviced me of this car wash company near my home, Caltex by Yew Tee that opens from 7pm - 7am - its was fantastic! I must admit I still didnt go frequently. Yesterday I went and realised a new team was there and when I presented my ticket, they told me that that company was no longer operating there. The company is LKW Automotive Services - does anyone know if they are operating elsewhere or if they are operating at all??? Any advice? Cheers!
  10. I seldom send my car to a car wash but at recent times I really got no choice due to long working hours and other activities. All along... My impression of local car wash is not very good... Cannot fight Malaysia standard... Until today. I want to commend the car wash call "wash and run" at bukit Merah esso/mobil station. First time I see such delication of the washers that put their heart to wash the car, covering all spots including my exhaust tip. The dryer even open my doors to wipe the interior. The price is $7 for cars and there's a queue at the time. I waited for around 10 mins but the result is worth the wait and price! Also realise these washer are locals, perhaps that's the reason for their delication? I regularly when to the car wash at Thompson. Although $4 but the wash is quick and hasty. The washers are FTs and can see some bickering among themselves. I ever, by no choice, tried a even cheaper one. Thompson caltex. The washer is hopeless and really Kengster. They spray the foam all on the windsceen but none on the body. End up one side wash and another side never even spray water. I quarrel with the FT dryer on the standard. End up go home diy again. Should have spend that $3 on a pack of chicken rice instead.
  11. Posting this on behalf of my friend. 2 Sat ago he went into JB for his weekly petrol fix. Went to one of the more popular car wash along the road where New York Hotel is. After parking the car at the washing bay there, he went to the makan place next to it for drinks & food. Next thing he knew, he heard a loud BANG sound. He saw his car being hit from behind by another Spore car. The driver is one of the car wash worker. He must be trying to move the car forward a little but somehow must have lost control & hit my friend's car. My friend was too shock to react. Then he went over to ask how could such thing happen? Then they started to talk to him in malay. He couldn't understand what they were saying to him. He then called me. This was around 1.30am just when I was going to bed. He told me what had happen but couldnt understand what the car wash ppl was telling him & he passed the call to them. I spoke to them in malay for a few minutes. They told him to come down again the next day. Later I spoke to my friend again, he said that his back bumper got hit. His car plate although not broken but quite badly dented. I told him that they willing to sent the car for repair the next day. He asked me to foloow him to JB again on Sunday morning. Till now I have no idea how badly the damage is. The next morning he came over to my block to pick me up. The 1st thing i noticed was that his front bumper & number plate was also dented. I walk to the back to see his back bumper. The number plate was dented, the bumper he said they somehow pull the dented part back out. I told him that although not as bad as he 1st made it out to be, the damage can still be seen. The most obvious damaged part was the number plate. Oh, my friend drives a OPC. So the seal was hit & bend. I went back to the front of the car, his front bumper was actually worst damage then the back. He said that there was a Merc that was park infront of his car at that time of the crash. That might have accounted for the damage to the front. He said no one actually notice the front at that time cos the hit was from the back. His front seal was also bend & the bumper was also pushed in. I told him lets go to JB to see what they say. Reach there around noon on Sunday. Went they look look at my friends car then i pointed out to the damage of the front that no one noticed the nite before. They now say they can't repair it on the same day & asked my friend to leave the car there overnite so they could do the repair for him the next day. After having 2nd thought about leaving there overnite, my friend decided not to leave it there & we came back to Spore. One of his many worry is that they will somehow break the seal in their attempt to repair the bumper. My friend would then be in big trouble with LTA. My friend asked me to call the guy from car wash again that nite.Called him & he tried to explained that he has his own workshop & he can do everything for less that RM50 & that he can repair till my friend is satisfied. I told him that my friend is still very worried that the seal will come off. He mention no problem & he is fully aware about the seal. He got a little agitated when i told him my friend very reluctant to have it repaired there in JB. He say repair in Spore sure expensive & he can do everything for abt RM50. Told what he mention to my friend, my friend still reluctant to repaired it over there. He say his bad luck to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. I told him even he doesn't wanna claim full for his repair, he should at least claim the cost to replace both his number plate & replace of the seal. Told him to go find out how much it cost to replace the number plate before going back to tell them to just pay a fix amount & anything on top of that my friend will top up. He agreed said it sounded reasonable. Today I got a call from him, he mention that he called the car wash again & again they spoken to him in bits of English & malay. My friend said he told the person that they pay him RM800 & forget about the whole thing. Again they told him to bring it to JB for repair. Saying that the most they would pay is RM100. That not even enough to cover the cost of the number plate both front & back. My friend ask to to call them & try to reason with them. Again they told me the same crap about how the whole repair can be done with less than RM100. Told him my friend say he is not going to repair there & we just wanted a nominal sum for the cost of replacement & repair. Still he say he is not paying a cent above RM100. Take it or leave it. The reason for posting this? Frankly buay song on how they handling this. Yes they offer to repair, but my friend is not taking any chance on the seal part. Just wondering what the rest of you will do if in my friends shoe? The other Spore car we heard also is not repairing with them & repairing in Spore (also another OPC). Saw pic of the other car, think the bonnet is damaged from the impact. .
  12. Normally I dont have time or energy to wash car myself, so i go to those petrol station ones. Tried all liao, SPC, caltex, shell... they all have the same problem. When after wash drying up the car, they opened the boot by using their hand to lift by the spoiler. All the car wash people i know seem to do it and i fear my expensive spoiler getting cracked or bent. They dont understand the value and i sympathize with that as it is very cheap labour. Finally found one caltex that didnt lift my boot like that. Just now went to queue 30 mins and wait for my turn to wash. End up after wash instead of closing the boot he just tap the boot + spoiler and it drop down hard breaking the lock. He didnt even notice anything wrong with doing that and they dry up using foam instead of cloth. Where do you go to wash your car and does this kind of thing happen alot to you ? Thanks In Advance.
  13. Hi guys, I have quite a busy schedule lately, I was wondering on this: If I have no time to do shampoo wash etc, is it okay to just use normal water with MF cloth to do light washing and using chamois to dry it? Will it do any harm if lets say I do it once weekly or twice weekly? Also, should I use the cloth in a circular wipe motion when washing or go from side to side as in a straight line? Other items such as MF cloth which could be more suitable? I read about mitt or something.
  14. Hi All. Just wanna share a car wash service which I happen to come across. I was with a friend at IDAC and STAR repair at Portsdown Rd on Friday, 24th Sept. I happen to know that a car wash service was started recently on their premises and it was going at a price of $3 for car wash, rims wash and tyre shine! And, an additional $1 for interior vacuum! So after I was done with my friend, I let them wash my car for me. Overall job well done and satisfactory! Highly recommended to all Bros and Sis here! If you guys are in the area, do pop by Portsdown Rd to try out this car wash service. On top of that, they are also offering car grooming services as well. The point of contact is Miss Ovidia Ong, hp 9005 6970. Do call her to find out about the car grooming services

  19. Guys, Just to check with those who have gone for the PPS or CS-II Treatment, do you really wash your car every time or you do go to the Petrol Kiosk for the manual wash some times? I was told to wash the car myself to prevent minor hairline scratches but just too lazy at times. Just wanna hear your feedback.

  24. I realised that in HDB Carpark, there are people going around washing cars for some fees. Was quoted $40 monthly, one car wash a day, Monday to Friday. Is this the market rate? Wonder if wash everyday then cannot wax/polish the car anymore. I thought car washing can only be done at designated car washing bay in HDB estates? What are the other pros and cons? Thank you for your advice and comments. Regards,
  25. It's not easy to find good manual car wash nowadays.. I have been to several ones trying to see if any I can really feel satisfied after the wash.. still havent found any. Yeah some will tell me want it clean wash myself la.. Just 2 examples for reference.. maybe u wanna avoid these: 1. Bedok North Road SPC.. Said to be snow wash.. sprayed from rear.. and the foam didnt even reached the bonnet.. And prior to that, no spraying away the surface dirt n dust. They splashed a bucket of water. Purpose is to spray away the dust or sand particles so that wont end up scratching the car. And so they started to rubba my car aft spraying foam. No foam on the bonnet, so they pushed all the foam from rubba the roof to the windscreen and bonnet. Before I know it, the guy asked my to move forward.. huh??? my front bumper havent rubba rubba. So started spraying.. Within a min asked me to drive out for wiping dry. I drove to drying area, came out.. WOW! foam on the front bumper. The china man wiped.. like swinging the cloth on the surface. Very fast.. told me ok. I looked at him, directed his sights to the rear bumer.. knn rear bumper never wipe dry said ok.. He swung his cloth across.. and said ok.. knn.. I paid and left. 2. Tampines SPC opposite The Tropica.. Paid before they started.. This one sprayed alot of water to wash away.. Sprayed foam also till windscreen.. Probably the hose too short for all manual car wash huh.. They started rubba.. Then signalled ok.. to drive forward to spray the away the foam. Knn.. front bumper and grill also never clean.. They bascially rely on spraying away the foam in attempts to spray away the dirt. After spraying, drove out to wipe dry area. Went into the minimart to get some stuff, came back they're gone.. I saw water flowing down on windscreen. They did wipe, but probably never wringe the cloth. I got it on the wiper.. Wow.. the water swept aside by the wipers is more than what i would encounter on a drizzling day.. The search for a better manual car wash continues.. Any recommendations from anyone? Pls.. dun tell me wash myself.. I am talking abt standard of manual car wash..
