  1. Want to check with you guys, will battery water corrode my paint work? I notice that my battery seems to be leaking, and i also realise the paint work inside the bonnet near the battery all different color, as if stained with something... Dun know isit that the battery water really so powerful to corrode it.. Pls advise!!!!
  2. I just realised my car got lots of water marks under certain lighting conditions. This is after i put on few coats of autoglym. How can I remvoe them? Thanks!
  3. What will happen when we use tap water into the battery box instead of battery water? My battery water was on the low side, then my dad pour in the bottle of mineral water he was holding into the battery box. Stop him!But he say its alright, then LL have to listen to him . WHY?( cos he paid for the ride). How? Will it damaged my battery or not? wahahha... Pls advise!!!!
  4. Hi, like to hear from the guys/gals on your take for 'cleaning' the exhaust. my mech sparyed water into exhaust and later revved real hard to get the water out.. at the same time soot and black carbon came out. After a few sprays, the gas coming out was clear and water coming out was white. Also the force that sprayed the water out from the exhaust was quite far... about 5 m. is this normal way of cleaning the exhaust ? won't it damage the cat converter ?
  5. http://straitstimes.asia1.com.sg/latest/st...,197348,00.html? KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia will bring a simmering water dispute with neighbouring Singapore to the boil again in a tit-for-tat publishing duel, a report said on Monday. Kuala Lumpur will produce a book revealing a 'true' account of the squabble and rejecting the version put forward by Singapore in a recently-released book entitled Water Talks? If Only It Could. Advertisement http://ads.asia1.com.sg/image.ng/Params.richmedia=yes&site=tsti&size=300X250 'We must give the true picture. The only one who is unfair and unreasonable is Singapore,' Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar was quoted as saying by the Malay-language Utusan Malaysia. Malaysia's version would reject all the arguments considered inaccurate in Singapore's book, he said. 'That book does not help strengthen bilateral ties and it is as if they are not interested in establishing a positive relationship,' Datuk Seri Syed Hamid said. At the heart of the row is the price paid by Singapore for raw water from its neighbour. Singapore's book says Malaysia is unreasonable, frequently changing its stance and causing talks over the issue to come to a standstill. The book, published by the republic's information ministry, contains a chronology of key events, a statement by Singapore's Foreign Minister S. Jayakumar, letters exchanged between Singapore and Malaysia leaders and other documents. Datuk Seri Syed Hamid said Malaysia remained uninterested in holding any talks over the water sold to Singapore until the city-state was capable of accepting a fair and just agreement. Malaysia decided to halt the talks last year after it failed to secure a price increase, and said it was considering taking legal action. It now sells raw water to Singapore at three sen (less than one US cent) per 1,000 gallons (4,550 litres). -- AFP
  6. I've the original battery from Honda and it is supposed to be maintenance free. However, on the battery, there is a window which says that IF I see BLUE, it's ok. If I see red, it needs to be topped up with battery water ! Recently, I vaguely sees a bit of red, so am wonder if I am supposed to "add battery water" to the maintenance free battery ? BTW, the battery top up holes are covered (as usual) and there's a tape that "loosely seal them up" .... Just wondering.
  7. Hi, I understand it can improve performance. But where to purchase in S'pore or do I have to order on-line ?? Where??? Thanks pg 92201625
  8. It's common understanding that if the engine is in optimum combustion state, one of the output is water... However, I realised that on my car, and many others, it's common to see water dripping out of exhaust tip in the morning when first started up. After driving for a while, you dun see water dripping out of the exhaust tip in ANY car ! BUT, in the morning, when the engine first power up, it's supposed to be running rich for warming up ... So, running rich -> leads to water as byproduct <> Optimum combustion ? Anyone can explain ? A simple explanation I can think of is that, the exhaust becomes so heated up that the water turns into vapour before it reaches the tip ?
  9. The main function of these systems is to suppress detonation caused by high temperature and pressure developed within the combustion chamber when the effective compression ratio has been taken beyond the auto-ignition point by either a turbo or a supercharger. Water, with its high latent heat content, is extremely effective for controlling not only the onset of detonation but also the production of oxides of nitrogen in the modern leanburn engines. ERL's latest products are designed with great care to ensure each system meets the highest standards of both electronic and mechanical reliability. THE CONCEPT of injecting water into the internal combustion engine has been around for over 50 years. But the desire to extract more power from the standard production engine has increased at a neck-breaking speed. ERL has just revived this old principle, applying the latest techniques in both electronic and mechanical engineering to take water injection into the next millennium. WATER? Water exists mainly in a liquid state because that is its most stable inter-molecular structure. When we apply heat energy to it, its molecules begin to expand: a great deal of heat is absorbed during this process owing to water's specific heat capacity - approximately 4.2kJ/(kg.K). When the water changes from the liquid to gas state, large amount of heat energy is consumed in sustaining the process. The latent heat of evaporation is 2256kJ/kg, approximately six times more than gasoline! SO WHAT? Because of its huge specific- and latent- heat capacity, water is the perfect liquid for regulating excess heat under certain engine-operating conditions, for example induction charge air cooling; but its biggest contribution is inside the combustion chamber where, under excessive loading, pre-ignition and detonation can otherwise occur. Such abnormal combustion is particularly common in force induction engines, where exhaust temperature can exceed 1100
  10. Just called up the mechanic at Auto Buddy who's repairing my Fabia now. He said the water pump is spoilt & needs to change the whole thing. But he said Singapore is out of water pump stock because the factory in Russia[shocked] can't keep up with the demand. Wah, that's bad. Anyone else got the same water pump problem with their Fabias? Hope not man. Dunno when the stock is going to come in.
  11. Hi, Can anyone tell me more about water dripping out of the tailpipe? Was told that it is good because the mixture is correct.
  12. Need help.. This morning.. whether I am on the move or stationary, I keep hearing the water dripping noise inside my car. Checked the air-con filter, it is not wet at all I realised that as long my engine is on, the sounds comes in Any advice ??
  13. Here's a pictorial of a water injection installation for the S40T4 http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/limbroz/lst?.di...jection&.view=t
