  3. Hello everyone, My current set of tyres (14 months old) have clocked 12000+ km and I just went for first round of rotation/balancing this morning. Was informed by mechanic that both front tyres are showing inner wear, thread outside still still looks very good. Mechanic told me its more of a tracking (toe) issue than alignment since the wear is happening on both tyres? Appreciate your inputs, thank you.

  8. Driving an old coe Honda currently. Always had these questions in mind so perhaps someone can clarify my doubts. I've tried searching through this forum but to no avail. Please pardon my inexperience or ignorance, if any. 1. Is it true that changing gears too quickly (i.e. at low rpms) will shorten the life of the gearbox? If that's the case, wont I have to rev to higher rpms, so as to preserve the gearbox? 2. If i constantly rev at higher rpms, wont i cause more wear and tear to the engine? 3. What is the definition of 'dragging gear'? to constantly drive at high rpms without changing gear or to drive at a high gear at low speeds and low rpm? Question 3 is due to me reading other forums on this wear and tear issue, and different ppl giving different definitions. Duno which to believe. I used to think that dragging gear means low gear high rpm.

  11. STOMPer Imaguy feels that guys in Singapore are being bossed around by their girlfriends so much so that even their outfits seem to be determined by their partners. One of the guys also seemed to be carrying his girlfriend's bag, the STOMPer pointed out. The STOMPer said: "I've seen so many guys wearing the same outfit as their GFs, and this one is even carrying her bag in the queue! "Come on, guys, there are better, more dignified ways to show your affection, than to be bossed around and have your outfits decided by your GF. "Does so much affection towards your girlfriend, turn you into her? Men are men for a reason and this is not it. "I'm shocked that more and more guys here seem to think that it's ok to do whatever they tell you to do. "Man up please, I think your girl would respect, and love, you more if you had a mind of your own!"
  12. Wow really have to be careful if you go to Malaysia stadiums to watch games there. Not a soccer fan so not sure if local fans behave like that to rival fans. Hope not.... From STOMP: Grow up lah: Childish Liverpool brutes humiliate guy for wearing Man U jersey A horde of Liverpool fans forced a young man to take off his Manchester United jersey when he went to Malaysia's National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur to watch Liverpool's training session during the team's Asian tour. A video of the incident, which happened on Jul 14, was posted on the Internet. It shows hundreds of Liverpool fans taunting the Manchester United fan, forcing him to remove his jersey and even tried to make him wear a Liverpool jersey. The young man refused and sat down topless. STOMPer Liver Fools, who saw the video, says he is disgusted by the behaviour of the Liverpool fans. He said: "To all Liverpool fans who think this is funny, let me just say that the behaviour of your so-called comrades is a disgrace to the beautiful game of football. "The Man U guy may be a moron for wearing the jersey to a Liverpool training session, but the Liverpool fans prove that they are nothing more than a bunch of barbaric, juvenile, low-class brutes. "Even with his stupidity, the Man U fan at least have the guts to confront hundreds of Liverpool fans wearing his Rooney jersey, which is more than I can say for the Liverpool ruffians who acted tough only because there are many of them. "Grow up, Liverpool fans! "I wonder if Liverpool fans in Singapore would behave the same way." Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has commended his fan for his courageous stunt. The football star's Twitter message read: "The lad who went to watch Liverpool train in mufc top with my name on the back is a legend." According to news report, the Manchester United fan had been showing off his jersey, kissing the Man U badges and shouting "champions" at the Liverpool fans.

  17. My current RIR seems to stop wearing ie the thread groove/depth seem to stay the same for the past 2 years!! ..... i bought them 2nd hand (previous owner changed car after using these RIR for 2-3 months before he sold them to me, tyres have never been tracked before and after I bought them) My 'theory' why they stop wearing: rubber hardened when tyres reached around 1 year old and therefore hardly wear out.... the tyres dont show any sign of minor cracks, so are they safe enough for dialy normal driving in the dry? ...... the grip seems ok for normal use. Thank you advance for any bro's advice (my yearly mileage is about 20k km)

  23. In case you are not in the loop, or never pass by the above petrol kiosk today, there is a free tyre wear check done by Michelin tyres. It takes only about 5 minutes and you do not need to leave your car. After the check, you will get a goodie bag that have 4 tyre caps and a digital tyre gauge among other freebies like keychain, stickers, etc. They will check all your tyres pressure, and their inner and outer wear depth. This is good as it will allow you to know whether your tyres are inflated at the correct pressure, thus ensuring proper wearing and longer lifespan. Those who live nearby east coast especially can try lah. The event total actually span a few weekends at different petrol kiosk over the island. Can see some petrol attendants not very happy as the michelin staff just ushered the cars to the petrol pumps and do the check, even for those who never pump petrol. But they sure ar enthusiatic. Confirm no need to buy Michelin tyres for the event. The staff never once talk about the brand. They only talk about your tyres, like they are doing a public service.
  24. Food handlers are reuired to wear paper mask. I am totally amazed and finally confused by the many ways that food handlers have managed to wear the simple paper mask. So what is the correct way to wear the mask? I have seen beinf used as: Under chin-- For guys I can understand, maybe to prevent beard from falling onto food. But some ladies also wear this way.. Mouth mask--to prevent saliver from dripping onto food. Forehead-- for what?? I cant figure out. Any more other ways that you have seen food handlers amusing ways to wear mask?
  25. Hi. During tyre rotation, I just realised that my left front tyre is almost worn out (tire wear indicator disappeared) and now it is at the rear wheel. I am goIng for a wheel alignment at Kenny. Should I change the tyre or change 2 tyres or change all four? I will be travelling to Kl in June. Any recommended tyre shops at AMK AutoPoint?
