Anyone can recommend me to a reliable and cheap car rental for this coming National Day long weekend??? i am looking at a 1.5/1.6 cc sedan car with 5 seaters capacity... cheers.

Will be going up on the ND long weekend to Petaling Jaya AKA PJ. Will be staying again at the Saujana. Promotional rates from AWD. MYR437 for 2 nights with complimentary bed for the young ones. Very good for a 5* hotel. Was thinking of the Holiday Genmarie for a change but many Malaysians reviewed it as not worth having it's rating. Anyway, will be going to Kuala Selangor. Will be on the fireflies tour. The entry rates are good. MYR10 for adults, MYR6 for kids. Better than Desaru. Might try the seafood there too. Dunno if I got enough time for KL. Kuala Selangor itself has a lot of "missed" attractions. Fort Altingsburg, the wetlands and other historic sites. Stay tuned for pics and reports as usual. I doubt I can post firefly pics. Very few cameras can take pictures in near darkness.

Hi, Any kind soul can tell me where to park for the whole day (weekend) but wont burn a hole in the pocket? Now I pay about S$10 to S$12 every Saturday and Sunday...........very shiong! Dunnoe if can valet park at the hotels nearby for a lower fee? Thanks.

Gad can't afford $180 for polishing,in the end,DO IT YOURSELF... When I mean DIY, I really DIY the while polishing process. No help was given and I'm not those type that like to stand and watch others do my car. who Says White Dun shine??!!!! This is a 2 year old van.. can you tell which is the body which is the slope? Dear all, its been a while since I last posted a thread. I have a query here, if i want to convert my car (a Getz bought in May 2003) into a red plate weekend car, what do I have to do? what are the steps? I understand that, if I'm correct, on sat, a weekend car can only be driven after 3pm. What do one has to do if says he wants to drive freely on sat? Thanks for your prompt feedback, as usual. rgds.

Hi all, I am shopping for my first car. Need some advice here. I am choosing between Hyundai Matrix and Toyota Altis for an off-peak car. The reason for these two is because they are the only ones that appeal to me, offer comfort for my mother, wife and my two toddlers (and may be the maid) and are within my budget. My main use of the car would be monthly family trips to Malaysia e.g. Desaru, Malacca, KL, Trengganu, Penang. I am not a car enthusiast. I will be very annoyed if I have to repair the car regularly. I am a very gentle driver and only need decent pick up. But it must not roar and crawls up Genting or Cameron. I appreciate any feedback/advice on the choice considering my usage pattern and requirements. I have read the forums and know about Matrix's high fuel consumption. I am also concerned about some of the problems forumers had with the Matrix. Some people had timing belts snapping, speed sensor broken while driving. One seemed to have replaced every single part in the car and yet loves his Matrix. A few seem to be going to the service centre very regularly, like monthly. But despite all these, there does not seem to be any unhappy Matrix owner in this forum. Why? Is this level maintenance normal for a car? If so I may not want a car after all. :-) Thanks TA TA kahhean
