  1. Tuesday, October 02, 2001 By Chips In a perfect world with perfect road conditions, you probably would not need to give much attention to your tyres and wheels. The rubber would wear out evenly and the balance would remain perfect. Of course, due to manufacturing variations, every tyre and wheel has a slight imbalance which is why a counterweight has to be added on the wheel to bring about proper balance. Balancing wheels is recommended every six month, more frequently if you drive on rough roads. If you don
  2. Hi, just like to find out what product can i use for the steering wheel and the other parts of the door? The material isn't quite like the dashboard nor is it like the seat leather. As i have seen the material on the steering wheel cracking up, i like to be able to condition it. Any recommendations? I drive the G9 by the way

    Steering Wheel

Hi, Looking around for Steering Wheel. Those that I like are only from Momo. Any other brands with nice designs to recommend? Secondly considering buying those cheaper nice steering wheel from Malaysia. My current on cost me RM90 with boss kit and Momo label in the centre. Where in JB got a huge selection of reasonable quality and nice designed steering wheel? Please advise.

  5. Hi everyone! Just found this wonderful forum! Really learn so much from all of you. Thanks! I have been hunting a steering wheel cover for my 13 inch (in diameter) steering wheel, but I cannot seem to find it anywhere. Anyone can give me a good lead to source for it? Thank you so much!
  6. Hi all, I just purchased a Momo Steering Wheel, and got my mechanic to install it in for me (nominal $10 fee) Everything works fine, except the steering wheel is a few degrees off-centre. I removed the horn button/plate, and removed the locking nut, but I can't seem to get the steeringwheel and boss kit off the hub. I read somewhere that there is a steering wheel removal kit...does anyone know where to get it? I was wondering if anyone has advice on removing a steering wheel by force, WITHOUT spoiling the alignment or the collapsible part of the steering wheel. Thanks in advance.
  7. Heya! I saw this Mazda 121 with wheel/rim covers (i dunno what you call those) that has teddy bear shapes on them! Very cute!! Since the R+ caps has fallen out of the plates of the rims, I think maybe can get those teddy bear covers. Then my car will really look like some dragonball car! I wonder if anyone of you know what im talking about... Please tell me where I can find them and also the cost of them for 13' rims. thanks!!

  12. Hi guys some info on wheel alignment and all the critical parameters that affect handling... Introduction%20to%20Suspension%20.pdf
  13. Hi people, I know this has been asked so many times but please indulge in me for a moment. I've a couple of questions to ask regarding wheels, alignment and handling. 1. How would spacers be seriously detrimental to a car especially if it's cornered hard, and moved up and down multi-storey parking daily? 2. Spacers added to a wheel of +40 offset for a G9 required? I think mine's got spacers but I'm not sure, cos the usual offset range seems to be +35 to +38. 3. If the camber cannot be adjusted, only the toe, and the right camber is off 1 degree, and left is off only about 0.7, what could be the likely long/short term impact to drive-sub, alignment handling etc. ? 4. And if its in anyone's pleasure, please do give some tips about picking the right wheel for a car apart from cosmetics. Thank you!
  14. Are there any damage done if the steering wheel is turned to the extreme with force? :( It happened to me quite a number of times and my heart aches. Keep reminding myself to be more gentle when turning the steering but sometimes it just happens :(
  15. I took out the unused spare tyre from my Daewoo Racer II b4 sending to scrap. I intend to use it as spare tyre for new G9 LX New G9 will have 195/55R15 tyres. The tyre is Kumho PowerMax II 768 185/60-14 The steel rim has these stamped on it - 15 1/2J x 14 - ET49 Can it fit the G9?
  16. My front wheels were not balanced after new tyres were installed so I went back to get them rebalanced. However, they are still slightly out of balance and vibrate at about 90-100km/h. Does this mean I have to do high speed balancing? Anybody got any recommendations on where to do it and estimated cost? Thanks!
  17. People, I am helping a friend to look for a Wheel Hub (dun know if this term is correct, it is those plastic cover for steel rims) for his VW Caddy. It does not need to be a VW for him, Audi, VW, SEAT or Skoda also can for him. His rims size is 14". If anyone of you is changing out of your 14" steel rims, can let me know. I will go and collect from you. Thanks in advance.
  18. Found this to be quite useful wheelweights.xls
  19. Ok guys.. here is my story Somewhere in Feb, when I lower my car using Tanabe springs, my wheel alignment was slightly out. THen, recently when I put on the new TRD kit, the alignment worsen. On Sunday, got wheel alignment done. THe reading was bad -2.75 right and -2.09 left. Happily got it resolved... then, here is the irony. I realised my wheels are rather "unbalance". So, on monday, did On wheel balancing and off wheel balancing for my rear. Here is the biggest joke.. my right front tyre was deteced with bad uneven wear. Therefore, by doing wheel alignment, it made the ride more uncomfortable. The worst was only the front right tyre and not both. Else, changing tyres made more sense. !!! Sigh !!! something I have to live with it until my tyres wears out...
  20. Anyone interest to go JB for wheels alignment.

  22. Noticed the steering wheel vibrates when i apply on the brakes to come to a stop. It normally happens at the point when the car is coming to stop. Can this be due to warped brake discs or the wobbling of the wheels? Or uneven wear of the brake pads? Thanks.

  24. I would have the same dedication if not for the fact that my fat ass carresses the leather more offen than the wheels. Besides, the wheels would be too hot for my butt to handle(carress) after a good run . BTW, R U getting the BMW's cleaner for some of us? CK
