  3. http://motoring.asiaone.com/Motoring/Owner...105-112460.html "Experts estimate that it gets only slightly better mileage than the M1A1 battle tank, which gets 1km on 5 litres of fuel. (A 1.6l sedan averages about 10km per litre.)" Unlike the current president's version, which is based on a Cadillac sedan, MrObama's is said to be based on a commercial-grade GMC Topkick truck , motoring experts believe. http://www.gmc.com/mediumduty/topkick/8500Tandem/index.jsp http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1_Abrams http://www.vstank.com/vspro/product_M1A2_d...1A2_desert.html

  7. I love my wheels but having a hard time keeping brake dust and what not off it. I normally use cotton pad and Zaino Z5/Z2 to polish the surface of wheel but it is getting harder (and me getting lazier). Anyone here knows if there are any mini polisher that is battery (or car battery) operated that could be used to polish wheels? I've looked at a few. For example, the B&D scrubber, it is actually meant for washing dishes. As such, the fittings are all not friendly to painted surface like wheels. I've also thought about buying one of those battery operated hand tool but again finding the right attachment to polish the wheel would be hard. So, anyone has any suggestions?
  8. Many people suggest that in high crime areas to park head in and wheels facing to one side to make it difficult for car to be towed away. So will parking with wheels to one side put strain on the power steering mechanism after turning off the ignition, will it cause damage in the long run?

  12. Members, just got my car 3 weeks back. What is your advise or experiance, shd I go ahead to detial it, before any scratch or swirl marks come in ? what do I do ? or shd I wait till later ? Also, after washing the wheels with some ma ma lemon, while the wheels are nice and shine, it always cause the creeking sound when you apply the brakes. I believe this is becos some lubricant must have been washed off . Anyone tried applying some lubrication oil after washing ? It occurred to me that maybe when you're doing the detailing work, wearing a mask will be a good idea. I do think some of the product we use to detail our rides do contain chemicals, unlike before when products contain less chemicals. Cheers !

  15. Hi guys, I wonder whether there exist a general guideline on the weight of light rims/wheels. For example, if one is looking at a 17" x 7, would 7.5Kg be ideal and so on? Please comment. Thank you very much. Regards,
  16. When you guys upgrade your rims, do they accept trade-in for the old ones? I heard from a friend that they only do trade-in for rims on new cars just collected from the ADs/PIs. Is this true?
  17. Hi guys, 1. I've seen street cars fitted with smaller wheels for front and bigger wheels for rear? For example, 16" wheels for front and 17" wheels for rear. 2. What exactly are the purposes of doing so? Are there real benefits? Thanks. Regards,
  18. 1. Sometimes, someone will mention that they need a heavier set of wheels which provide better stability during cornering. Others might felt that a car with lighter set of wheels will degrade its road holding ability. 2. However, rims, tyres and the brakes are just unsprung weight, which are all not supported by the suspension and is more proned to road shock and cornering forces. By reducing the weight of your rims/tyres, you get more precise steering and cornering. Hence, the weight of your wheels will affect your car's road holding ability. 3. Hence, performance tyres and light weight rims do provide better control to the cars. Regards,
  19. Hi, Am considering getting chrome wheels, but have doubts about its maintenance. Anyone here who is currently using chrome wheels... especially those deep dish types care to share your experience? I'm worried about road tar getting stuck to the chrome dish. Please advise. Cheers Orac
