  2. Now this is one heartening sight! Our local police force is working hard to catch bad-behaving vehicles on our roads! Seen on SG Road Vigilante is this video of an unmarked Traffic Police vehicle zooming up fast on the AYE towards Tuas to catch a motorbike on 13th of December 2020. We can't really see why the bike was being stopped but according to the source, it is a Malaysian-registered bike with a mini rear number plate. While having such a number plate is an offence in our sunny island, we thought the police might also be catching the biker for a speeding offence or having a loud exhaust. As for the rest of us, we now know when you see a white Mazda 3, it might not be a Private Hire Vehicle but an Unmarked Traffic Police car!
  3. Maybe the mare knew that the our country is going into a semi-lockdown state and wanted to do some last minute exploring first... Spotted by several road users along Eng Neo Avenue, the white horse was apparently lost and was in fact trying to find her way back to her stable on 5th April. As reported by The Straits Times, its owner Ronnie Lim, who also owns Paisano Polo Academy at Turf Club Road, the 11 year-old horse was found 20 minutes later after running off at 4pm. A horse handler had taken it to the paddock that afternoon and was just about to close the door when there was a loud screech from some vehicles on the road nearby, causing her to take fright and run. According to Mr Lim, it was the first time this happened and Cocorita, was a children's riding horse and was usually mild mannered. "Horses tend to find their way back and we're happy she's all right," said Mr Lim, 58, adding that they had found her grazing on a grass patch along Eng Neo Avenue. "She probably got distracted and had a bite." ea6e93fa-bbff-46bc-a4a5-4d669c18cbd6.MP4 f2c06154-220d-4b9c-b3f3-59a2540bed49.MP4 b6a36525-3c1d-4249-bc54-5fc24182ea30.MP4
  4. https://mothership.sg/2020/04/white-horse-petrol-station/ A white horse was seen in Bukit Timah galloping along Eng Neo Avenue across a road junction at 4pm on Sunday, April 5, 2020. The bewildering sight was captured in a 15-second video and put up on Facebook, which has enthralled the nation, given how surreal the scene was. It turns out the 11-year-old horse, named Cocorita, was sent bolting out of the paddock nearby after it heard a loud screech from some vehicles, which startled it. The horse is one of 15 located at the Paisano Polo Academy at Turf Club Road. The horse's owner said the runaway equine was found within 20 minutes of its escape. It had apparently stopped to graze on grass along Eng Neo Avenue and a collar was put on her and she was walked back to the stables. Naturally, the video of the majestic animal conjured up references to White Horse, the Taylor Swift song, as well as the fabled classification of certain individuals who enlist into National Service. However, other footage shot by another motorist showed the horse horsing around a little bit during its escape, as it entered a Shell petrol station along Dunearn Road. It was literally demonstrating what is the meaning of horsepower, as motorists looked on as if unsure about what they were witnessing. Before we get carried away, it is a common misconception that one horsepower is the same as the peak power output of an actual horse. The truth is that 1 horsepower is closer to 14.9 horses. The initial definition of horsepower was based on the continuous, sustained power output of a horse -- measured according to how much water a horse could raise in a minute, at a normal walking pace, which turned out to be 550 ft-lbs/s. The average person can produce up to 1.2 horsepower briefly at their peak, and 0.1 horsepower over time. The rear electric motor on a Tesla produces over 400 horsepower -- equivalent of being pulled by 600 horses. An amazing feat considering that the motor is no bigger than a watermelon.
  5. With everyone encouraged to stay home due to the ongoing coronavirus , life must be quiet dull for most. However, we are pretty sure the motorcyclist at the traffic light didn't find his last friday bland at all... 92a4c569-89c1-4c7c-81f8-f298494e1650.MP4 Shot in an unknown heavy vehicle, the footage clearly shows a wild white truck doing a quick lane change at a traffic junction that has just turned red along Jurong Town Hall Road. From the video, we thought the poor biker would be bulldozed by the truck but amazingly, the truck managed to avoid crashing into it! Seconds later, viewers can see a police car coming to a stop abruptly with its tyres screeching on the bottom of the video, suggesting to us that the white truck might have been running away from the cops. According to the comments on Complaint Singapore, the police were apparently trying to arrest the driver in the truck and this was a drug-related case. Maybe more should heed this netizen's comment whereby it is better to stop in front of a vehicle that has already come to a complete stop at the lights...
  6. A video showing a white car failing to check for oncoming traffic while doing a right turn has gone viral. Unfortunately, the consequences were unpleasant as a Foodpanda motorcyclist was killed in the process. The motorcyclist, a 41-year-old deliveryman from Malaysia, was unconscious when help arrived and eventually succumbed to his injuries at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. He was reported to have been thrown 30 metres due to the impact and suffered brain injuries as a result. According to Stomp, the accident took place at the junction of Toh Guan Road and Boon Lay Way at 7.58pm on the 10th of March. The 36-year old Mercedes-Benz driver has been arrested for dangerous driving causing death. There has been a debate that discretionary right-turn junctions should be abolished as there has been an increase in accidents related to it. Could this signal an end to such junctions?
  7. Hi all, Recently I spotted many white cars on the road. Seems that white is getting more popular. Just thinking of those owners who own a white car. What I saw is that my neighbour washes his white Nissan three times a week. He told me that he send for car grooming once every six months. How do you clean and/or maintain the white paintwork and any pointers to note or share please? White is not an easy colour to maintain. Hoping to learn more tips from white car owners. Cheers!
  8. Hi everyone, not sure if anyone encountered this before. Basically, I was trying to get some tissue from my car while holding onto the pump. Didn't press the lever but there was leftover petrol in the nozzle and it spill onto my car door. Wiped it down immediately. While the leather seems fine, there are ugly white trails on the plastic now. Anyone has solutions to that? Thanks!
  9. What is the maximum legal limit of white lights approved by LTA? Any brands to recommend?
  10. Tuesday, Sep 18, 2018 Under a bright California sun, Tinseltown's A-listers sparkled on the Emmys red carpet on Monday in sultry satin dresses, eye-catching beaded gowns -- and even a few pairs of sneakers -- as they gathered to honour the best in television. From white-hot frocks to sexy pantsuits to sartorial statements that are political too, the following is a look at the styles and trends making waves at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles Source:- http://www.asiaone.com/multimedia/gallery/emmys-fashion-white-hot-glamorous-and-political?xtor=EREC-16-4[Emarsys_Newsletter]-20180918&extid=6934d0cfb7b252f1ae9f0dbddf5ff88ca8637e77 Total of 42 photos. 11. Was traveling along the CTE towards Ang Mo Kio yesterday evening at around 645pm at the third lane, i.e extreme left lane. The second car in front of me, a greenish silver BMW E90 with SGJ plate suddenly emitted a lot of white smoke from his exhaust and the effect was almost like a smoke bomb, enough to decrease visibility to almost zero across 3 lanes. The car in front me braked suddenly and I almost crashed into him, the thick white smoke also almost cause a chain collision on my right. Not angry or anything, but I hope the BMW driver's vehicle is ok and not too expensive to fix. The amount of white smoke emitted is really scary!
  12. Previously, my anti-slip mat had melted on my dashboard which left bits and pieces of the mat on the surface, and cannot be removed by normal wiping. So after hearing some comments here that using lighter fluid might help, I tried with alcohol swabs which i thought might be a substitute for the lighter fluid. Yes, some of the mat stains were removed but it seems like a layer of my black dashboard surface was stripped as well. Now, I can see a big whitish and somehow sticky patch on the area where I had used alcohol to rub. I had used the Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care lotion but the whitish patch is still there. Are there any ways to get rid of the white patch and restore my dashboard back to to normal? Thanks in advance!
  13. It is one of the more popular local dish with stir fried cubes of radish cubes. It is normally fried with eggs, garlic, chai por, spring onions and sometimes prawns. Which one do you prefer?
  14. http://www.business-standard.com/article/e...21700123_1.html Nayanima Basu | New Delhi February 17, 2013 Last Updated at 12:17 IST Govt decries CECA violation by Singapore The country has imposed restrictions on inflow of foreign workers, which is going to affect Indians working there Those of you planning to make it big in Singapore might be in for a setback. Singapore recently made certain changes to its Employment Pass Framework law to reduce inflow of foreign workers significantly to create more job opportunities for local professionals. The move is expected to impact even those Indians working there at present across various sectors. The amendments, made on a proposal by its Ministry of Manpower, has armed the Singapore government to bring down the foreign share of the total workforce to around one-third while encouraging employers to invest in productivity in return for incentives in the form of tax breaks. The move came as a recent Singapore's policy paper predicted that its population would grow by 30 per cent to 6.9 million by 2030, with immigrants making up nearly half that figure. The paper led to demonstrations in Singapore yesterday, a rare happening in the country, in protest against rise in immigrants. The step has irked India as the new law does not give India a preferential treatment incorporated in the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CECA) between the two countries, operational since 2005. This stance by the Singapore Government is expected to affect Indians working as middle-level managers, executives and technicians. Speculations are rife that India might take up the issue with World Trade Organization

  21. Dear Lexus Driver, Was driving out from Clarke Quay 3e mscp and you are behind me. Seeing that you are driving quite close to me, in other words "Tailgating". I assume you are going to try your luck on free parking(because i have past exp on such cases where driver tailgated me in amk). Alas, i knew it! When i exited, the barrier have yet to lower down and you are soooo closed to me that you can "escape" without paying anything. These happened at 855pm -858pm on 2nd Jul. I just want to let you know there are cctv everywhere in the mscp. Also, you are driving Lexus and resort to much low means to get foc parking. Rich but selfish and pathetic way to achieve free parking. I hope you read this hor! Chao kuan!

  23. I notice there are quite a few drivers who like to cut across chevrons or double white lines when their lane is congested but the adjacent lane is free. Personally it irritates me as you don't expect people to be cutting into your lane at those places, not to mention it's a traffic offence. What do you think?
  24. Hi anyone knows whether 2007 BMW 523I can change from amber to white halo ring? Is it illegal? Anyone has any recommendation?
  25. Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you noticed from the various pictures posted online that seem to suggest that white cars does not shine as much as dark colors (especially black) cars when they have undergone some ceramic pps. I don't think this is brand/groomer specific as I have looked through all the pics from the various groomers offering pps but cannot find a white car that look as glossy as a black car. Any white car owner who has done a pps can comment on this?
