I suspected that my exhaust system is leaking...was proved correct when a friend suggested I do a simple test. Block the exhaust & see if the engine stalls or clasping for air. Well it didn't and was running when I did that. But I believe the leak is minimum if not it would have sounded like those malaysian "beng" car. Anyone knows if it will cause a drop in performance? the increased flow due to the leak might reduce the need to de-cat -
Just spoken to Borneo Motors SE about the faclifted Vios - Basic model - No sports rims (pre-facelifted model came with sports rims as standard) - No body kit (pre-facelifted model came with body kit as standard) - Only exterior cosmetic changes to the front and rear lights, front grill and bumpers. - Interior, engine and body is exactly the same as pre-facelifted model - Selling price for manual : $52,488 - a S$1,900 price increase over pre-facelifted model, yet comes WITHOUT bodykit and sports rims. - OMV is only a few hundred dollars more than the pre-facelifted model - about S$12,000. I was told that customers found the pre-facelifted model of better value, & the showroom and demo unit have all been snapped up. The new face-lifted model display units will arrive only in early Dec 2005. The SE said it is better to hold on as with more COEs released, prices will drop - which I find is reliable information, since Borneo Motors is one of the big players who determine whether COE prices hear North or South. Personally, for S$52,488, I find it expensive for a Thai assembled product. A pre bred Japan assembled Sunny is selling for just $49,000 and Lancer for only S$51,000.

Volkswagen's Czech-built Skoda brand will be introduced Down Under next June http://editorial.carsales.com.au/mellor/me...A25708400145181 This would have been good news for us if Skoda was introduced into Australia earlier as I would believe more aftermarket parts would be made available....for owners of the current Octys, Fabias and Superbs. Fabia and Superb owners still have a glimmer of hope for more aftermarket parts from down under soon though For Octy owners, well... tough luck

hey guys, i wondering if lets say u paste a sticker on ur car (ie like the bonnet and door). and after some time when u take it out, will it leave a stain or like will there be a difference in colour? i had to paste some sony stickers on my car during competition.. then too lazy to take out. (they also look nice and its easier for me to keep an eye on my car in sch, all i have to do is just look down can see my car liao).. but my gf kaopeh like siao.. tried to remove a bit, then like its really stuck to my car body.. any advice? was thinking og gettin gf to remove it.. cos she more gentle.. haha.. also.. good ting to remove.. just in case u see my car in geylang or at some dark empty car park with windows covered up.. haha cheers guys

Yesterday, at about midnite, got this #@#%$%$# yellow SUZUKI Swift trying to chio me for a race.... I was driving at about 60km/h along River Valley Road when this car tailgate me like he really want to kiss my butt... At traffic light, he look at my car (black lancer), then he look at me chio me for a race and keep on revving his engine!!! I was thinking petrol still not expensive for him to rev like that He was with his girlfren and I am wif my wife... I rejected the 'offer' and drive as per normal and let him be. .. his GF was laughing, as tho I lost ! Wat the ... Wat are your views ? Any similar encounter??

DepreciationBrowsed thru' some classified ads recently, think the dep is between 4~6k a year rite? This is lesser than the dep of my City, if I were to let go now....easily lost 7~8k a year InsuranceHow much do you think I have to pay for the 3rd party insurance? MaintenanceIs this going to be extremely high? Are spares easy to get? If spares are easy to get and cheap, I will prob DIY for most of the repairs that I am able to with tools available in my storeroom. Fuel ConsumptionHeard it's around 8km/l? Can take 95RON rite? Buying an old merc has always been something I wanted to do. After driving Japs for so many years, kinda a little bit sianz liao.

Me very new here,just want to get feedback on the following: If we have Unichip or Aftermarket ECU which are able to control the air/fuel ratio and etc.Does other mods such as E68,fuel regulator,capsule etc will useless since the unichip will ultimately act as the master controller of air and fuel.Hope the car gurus here are able to advise.Many thanks in advance for your view and feedback.

Hi to all MCF bros out there, I am a newbie here and need some advises. I am at oversea now, returning to Sg in july and I need a car ASAP for my work once i come back. I will be 1st time car owner here therefore inexperience about owning a car. My situation is: I need a car for my job ASAP. My budget is $65k for a new car or $50k for a 2 years old car. I need to travel from far east to far west for my work, therefore good FC is very important. Car looks wise, must be abit sporty for single young excutives and spacious enough for my family members. I have $10K in hand for the (down payment+ insurance+road tax+ any neccessary start up cost). The questions is: What model car should I buy? Should I get a new car or 2 years old car? Because seems like getting a used car i can get the ride faster of course with consideration of all the COns of getting used car. Any Other ways to get my ride faste with get a new car? Your any cents worth of recommendations are deeply appreciated!

For those new car owners or cars bought under the latest parf system, can we see how much will the car price drop once it is on the road? As we all know, dealers will only take in cars for parf + a few $k. So what will our cars be worth after, say only 1 yr? Or even just after it is on the road?
