ive decided to change my windscreen wipers. But i dont know what or how to buy one. How to know how many inch is mine. Thinking of getting those silver plated ones. Brand's 'Rain First', hehe. But not sure if they work well.

My wiper stop have way when i turn on the first speed. I though its the wiper needs to be change (1.5yrs liao) so i went to autobac and get myself a twister wiper (knn so ex). then after installing it....the wiper still stop mid way when i on the first speed and even worst...got Grrroorrrr sound... but, when i turn on a faster speed....2 or 3 its okie..... How? is it the wiper problem or the wiper motor is faulty? Thanks for advice in advance.

My wiper jerks like on super panic every time the rain gets heavy. I see a film deposit after the wiper sweeps and have tried these cleaners so far: - mama lemon - autoglym glass polish - JIF - Vinegar - pure alcohol - thinner/spirit All did not help, wipers still jerking like siow I even changed three different sets of wiper blades, one wiper arm and now empty pocket with jerking wipers HELP!!!!!!

Hi Folks, I just got my 3 weeks old Lancer and has been parking in the open HDB car-parks since. Last 3 days, something quite weird happened. Every morning, I noticed my right wiper is always lifted up (stationary) but my left wiper is at rest. Anyone knows why? Did I not turn off my wiper correctly? Thx.

Hi fellas, I have this windscreen wiper juttering problem for a while. I've tried some stuffs like using rainx cleaner, change wiper, clean with dishwashing liquid, wipe with newspaper. It seem like the windscreen is abit to dry and it cause juttering. Anyone can advice me what I should do? I am comptemplating on changing the whole windscreen and maybe apply moisturiser on it. Thanks.

Many ppl say Rain X is a no-no for front windscreens but yet they have juz come up wif new wipers and has been hitting the shelves lately. Wonder if they r any good?

Wow liao, AVEO5 Wiper judder & noisy since Day ONE May 2005. 1st Complaint May 2005 @ 1K ....SA listen & serviced but problem remained. 2nd Complaint Aug 2005 @ 5K ....SA listen & serviced but problem remained. 3rd Complaint Nov 2005 @ 10K....SA listen & serviced but problem remained. SA really is hopeless & lousy service. Very poor quality Wiper & servicing. Just keep polishing the Windscreen, bend the wiper, adjust & more bending, more adjustment... except finding the right quality wiper to replace! SA just refused to improve on Customer service & improvement?

Some told me plain water , some put those domestic household liquid window cleaner ,some - diluted mama lemon... What's yours ?Just curious.

Hi, Thinking of getting a wiper motor from Mercedes Benz and customised it to fit my Swift. Is this possible? Anyone done it before? Find the wiper motor for Jap car's too weak, whereas the Merc one is really POWER.

anybody know how to remove the memory mark, stain or watsoever u call that on the windscreen? those marking of the path of the wiper that will appear whenever the the windscreen is wet. anyway to remove them for good?

Hi guys, My friend's rear windshield wiper for the Toyota Picnic just kena "stunned" by some moronic idiot. Does she have to buy the replacement from Borneo Motors, or can she just buy from the usual car accessories shop (do they carry such short ones)? P.S: This is the second time I've heard of such cases... my other friend had his rear wiper stolen from his Peugeot 307SW. What kind of idiot does this kind of thing?

Just realised Aveo wiper is One Big and One small. Why dont they just give ONE big wiper??

I see all accessory shop selling wipers got 2 types one... If I'm not wrong, it's to connect the blade to the wiper arm... So, for Octy, which should be the correct type of wiper blade?

OK its been raining for the past few days and now I got a chance to test out something. Wiper wash fluid. I've been sending my car to the washers in JB and just as I have expected, most car wash shampoos have something what I would call "cheater wax". Now this is not just in wash and wax shampoos. It is also in normal car wash shampoo. This component helps the car dry faster. So whether you like it or not, this cheater wax will be on your windshield. My windshield with its wettable surface thanks to CeO treatment has now become beading. The difference is that this can be restored if I wash it thoroughly with household detergent. Well, I didn't and now the wipers are juddering because of this cheater wax. The last time I used only water. Here is the problem with water only. Water does not have grease cutting power. The other problem is that it does not have lubricity that the wipers need. Water is not wetting when it comes to such a wax treated surface. So I went on to concoct this super strong version made of distilled water, ethanol, household ammonia and a wee bit of dishwashing detergent. Results are fantastic. Wipers moved like ice on ice but here lies the problem. There was plenty of foaming! Surface tension of the liquid was so low that the detergent became super effective. Each squirt brought about lots of foamy stuff. Caused streaking as well. BTW, I used only 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid detergent for 1USGAL of the formulation. So after this ran out, I used Armoall wiper wash additive. Not bad. At Autobaccs, can buy 1 bottle for $6.70 compared to the $7+ elsewhere like Homefix DIY. Lubricity was restored. Herein lies the other factor. Cost. It can be used for 5-6 2.5L wiper wash reservoirs. Now that the rains are here, I use lots of it. Anytime the wipers start to judder, I just squirt and the judder disappears for a while. I wanted cost reduction. OK so here is what I came up with and here are the reasons. Wiper wash fluid is basically a mixture of an alcohol and some window cleaner component like household ammonia with nonionic detergents. I decided to eliminate alcohol. Alcohol prevents freezing. Critical in other places with winter. If your wiper wash fluid freezes, that's the end of your wash pump. This leaves the cleaner component. Going by the way the Amorall wiper wash is diluted. I decided to make it with window cleaner. 2 cups of window cleaner with 1USGAL of water. That is around 5L. So for a 2.5L wash reservoir, 1cup of window cleaner should be sufficient. 1 metric cup is 250mL. So far, it is OK. Low streaking because of the low foaming. Will not harm window tints because the ammonia is very low after dilution. Still maintains lubricity for the wipers. I will try something more concentrated after this runs out. Maybe 1.5cups to a wash reservoir and see. Will keep you all posted.

Hello Folks, I just got my new car three weeks ago. How do i reduce the sound generated by the contacts between wiper and windscreen? I remembered it was not so bad before my first car wash, perhaps is due to the car shampoo? Is there any product for windscreen that help with this? How do you clean your wiper? Thanks for any advice.

Wat's good and wat's not? 3)My 50k servicing is coming up... Is it better to go back to CA or should I find outside sources? I've been to CA b4 and I'm quite reluctant to go back there...
