  1. Hi All, I have just changed to Amaron batt at $110. I was given Globatt or omolite and finally chosen amaron. any advice? thks!
  2. My 06 wish suddenly had the temp warning light lit up yest. went workshop and was told radiator leak and the fan is weak… suggested to replace these 2, plus 2 pipes connected to the radiator... How much should this cost on average? Was told after labour should maybe $1100...
  3. Where's the cheapest place to get the engine sensor for my Wish read? Warning light on - I think is a minor problem - where can I go to get it read so I know what to repair??
  4. I am doing 80k major servicing for Toyota Wish (bought from PI). Not going back to the PI workshop as there is no more warranty. My understanding is that major servicing will change the following : 1) Engine Oil and oil filter 2) Spark plug 3) Brake oil 4) ATF oil 5) Coolant As the workshop usually use a different brand from my preference and also the charge more if use their own. Thus, I intend to buy the above and only pay labour for the mechanic to change. But I have the following queries for 1 and 2 are quite standard and i have no question on that for 3, i heard there is different grade of oil. Dot 3, Dot 4, etc. Which one should i use for Toyota Wish? For 4 n 5, is there any thing i should look out for. eg. brand and grade of material? Is there anything i missed out on the major servicing? Thanks for your kind advise!

  6. How many times have you realised that we always end up veering a little off course after we have decided on doing something? It's pretty often for me. Just the other day, I was at one of the hawker centres getting dinner. I was pretty certain I wanted to have chicken rice as it's pretty famous. Even my relatives travel all the way from the other side of Singapore just to patronise this stall. However, for some reasons unknown, I ended up with a bowl of prawn noodles. Was I happy with the prawn noodle? I was, actually. And it was pretty tasty. But then halfway through I started feeling a little crossed with myself. As a matter of fact, whenever I am at this hawker center, I always end up having the prawn noodles no matter how many times I tell myself to eat the chicken rice. Same goes for my career. How the hell I ended up as a photographer and not what I wanted to work as baffles me. I was supposed to be in a bank or something - along that line of trade that I studied and graduated from! So do I regret what I am doing now? No, I don't. But I do wonder how it would be like if I had stayed on course. I certainly hope when it comes to my first car, I will not be in this situation. I have always told myself when I grow up, my first car will be a Honda. A 1998 Integra Type R to be exact. Now that I'm getting older, I honestly don't think that dream will come true. Reasons being that everything regarding a car - from maintenance to modification - requires a fair amount of money that's more than my monthly pay. So really, how many of you readers out there actually managed to turn out what you imagined yourself to be?
  7. hi all, i am challenging myself whether to drive up to hat yai with my 3yr old kia picanto did that during last yr up camroon highland without a problem. total hrs spent 9hrs from sin 7 am onwards, did a few rest stop to whack redbull as the tiredness is constraint, nearly doze off during the trip towards ipoh and even during heavy rain a kelisa stop in the middle of the lane while i was going at 130km/h during heavy rainy conditions, lucky i siam. i am not sure should i take risk to cheong up hat yai, stressing my picanto. max speed i went up with picanto is 140km-150km/h even how i stress so hard, it wont go pass 150km/h which i understand a lot of stress on the engine of a 1.1l cap. need advise from mcfers whether should i take the risk. thanks for all sincere advise !
  8. Hi guys, Am driving a 2008 Wish NFL. It's a second hand. 5 years old this year. Mileage abt 90,000K if it has not been tampered before (haha.. we all know abt dealers lowering the numbers.. anyway...). Since I got the car 2 years back, havent change anything on the brakes till now. The car is stock stock condition. Here's my problem : - Screeching sounds coming from rear of vehicle whenever i tap the brakes. (definitely not the front brakes cos I poke my head out of the car to listen when driving. Slow speed though) - Applying light brake.... screeching comes on continuously. - Applying harder brakes.....beginning there's a slight screech, then it's gone till the car comes to a complete stop. - Applying brake when reversing... no sound (probably because it's too slow to create any noise) Anyone driving same ride and encounter this problem before? What needs to be change, the damage, any workshop to recommend, contacts? SG or JB workshop also can so long as it's economical and trust worthy. If not convenient to post here, can PM me. Any recommendations welcome! Along the way, also though of doing a general servicing plus checking of aircon... not sure it's the weather or car, it just feels not as cold when you need it. Haha.. Thanks a million in advance!
  9. Hi guys, Sometime back I read that PI has intention to bring in JDM Stream, Wish and Honda Airwave as taxi. They will first convert it to CNG to enjoy the tax rebate. Here is what I found today: Wish and Stream, with CNG sticker on them. The Wish has finished the conversion while the Stream is still under going some conversion.
  10. I believe that many are in this same case. Man share car with wife and can only drive auto even at 99% of the car is driven by man. So, man can only choose a car which is auto and had got a YRV Turbo as it is hip hop car and pull away from traffic lights faster then any Japanese 1.6 car. Now, man wish to upgrade to a cheap Jap car. Choices are as per poll. Depreciation: Lancer 1.8T @ S$ 5000 Forester 2.0XT @ S$ 5400 Airtrek 2.0T @ S$ 5800 Colt Plus Turbo @ S$ 6000. Ralliart Colt Turbo @ S$ 6000. Others? At a bugdet less then S$6500. Cannot be more then 10 years old car too due to the insurance he prefer first party. He is a very big size chap weight at about 100kgs so he had outgrown YRV as his first car. He is a outdoor sales so mileage is about 32K per year and FSC comments are require.

  14. To The CB Driver of Toyota Wish SGA 4212R I dunno how you obtain your P-Plate license or either you drive illegally. If you doesn't know lane discipline or overtake other car on the left without first checking blindspot and signal please go back and screw spider. You don't own the road. If you are seeing this, own up and apologise to my PM. I will forgive you this time and make sure you drive with consideration in future if not I'll submit the videoclip to TP.

  20. Hi forumers here who has done some research. Wana have some quick responses. I have been ard looking for a 07 or 08 WISH but seems like there's not much in the market except for 05 and 06 models? And most of the salesperson are pushing which is more widely available in the market. - Is there a common problem for Wish which surfaces after some time? - Is there a common provblem for Stream after some time? - Stream is a bit on the higher side as compared to Wish but they generally have higher OMV value. True? - Base on paper, which ride provides better power? - What's your personal feel on each ride? - Wish seems to provide better rear boot space and Stream seems to lack of that but compensate with better road control (just my personal feel after test driving both). Any comments? Pros and Cons? - Which gives a better FC? (although i know its base on road usage and loading. )
  21. Ever since I was taking bus / MRT, I have fantasized about the Ferrari. I like the beautiful head turning looks, the powerful performance and the sexy red colour. I could imagine myself looking so good riding one. Unfortunately I had only loose change so I can't even make it past the showroom doors. I tried my best and worked very hard hoping to make enough moolah but still failed by a long shot. In fact I probably cheesed off the Ferrari saleslady with my unwanted stooging around the showroom. So I downgraded my expectations to a Porsche. Still a very nice car and won't lose face in front of my friends. Although I could just about afford it if I ate only bread and water, the showroom staff don't even bother to serve me. Feeling very tulan, I flirted with the idea of just importing my car directly from overseas. Although some have gotten nice rides cheaper this way, there are many horror stories about about lack of aftersales support and the car not adapted for local conditions so I gave it a miss. So now I am just driving a bread and butter car, no different than those annonymous thousands packing the roads. Thinking logically, I should be very grateful to be driving a relatively fuss free and affordable car. A reliable machine that don't give much trouble even though it will never win any car awards. In fact, there are people older than me who still haven't gotten their first car yet. But in my heart I still yearn for Ferrari, especially when one zips by with a fat, balding creep inside. What makes him so special? It should have been me.
  22. Hi all, I would like to seek opinions on this 2 choices of colours for SSW Spider for my white Cs3. [Left: Gloss black with chrome outline, Right: Full hyper silver] My reason for choosing SSW is because it's affordable, acceptable quality with warranty, established brand, and I can choose to purchase individual rim in future if necessary. Anyone with opinions on which colour to choose? Also, ideas on other established brands with affordable pricing are welcomed. Thanks in advance!
