http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/officer-accused-of-molesting-woman-gave-different-account-of-what-happened-nea Officer accused of molesting woman gave different account of what happened: NEA SINGAPORE - A National Environment Agency (NEA) officer accused of hugging a woman from behind has given a different account of what happened, NEA said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 14). "The officer highlighted has given his account of what had happened, which is different from what was alleged, to the police," an NEA spokesman said. NEA said that they are aware of the case which happened at Suntec City Tower 2 on Jan 8. The enforcement officers had seen a woman smoking under the covered walkway near the staircase of Suntec City Tower 2, and asked for her particulars. "The incident occurred as our officers were requesting for her particulars in order to take enforcement action against her for smoking in a smoking prohibited place," NEA said. "Subsequently, the enforcement officers requested police assistance." The agency did not provide more details as the police are investigating the case. The 33-year-old woman, who has not been named, told Shin Min Daily News that an NEA enforcement officer hugged her from behind when he was trying to stop her from leaving. She told the Chinese daily that she lit up her cigarette as she was approaching a smoking area at Suntec City Tower 2 during her lunch break. She was then stopped by a man who said he was an NEA officer. "The man claimed that he is an NEA officer and asked me to show my identity card, but I did not bring it downstairs so I quickly stubbed out my cigarette and tried to leave," she told Shin Min. As she was heading back to her office, she said that she was stopped by a second man, who blocked her way. She told Shin Min that the man asked her for her identity card, but did not show his own identification. She ignored him, called her husband and continued to walk back to her office building. As she was using her staff pass to enter a gantry at the office building, she said she felt someone hug her from behind. When she managed to break free, she realised that it was the second man who had tried to stop her earlier. The man then grabbed her left arm, only letting go when she shouted: "What do you want? Why are you doing this?" She said that the officer had touched her chest and she felt humiliated. She then called the police, Shin Min reported. After the incident, she tried to board a taxi to leave the area but was stopped by the man, who opened the door and told the driver not to drive off. The woman then alighted. It is unclear what happened next. Later, the woman's husband arrived at the scene and they went to a police station to make a report. The police confirmed that a report was made and said that they are investigating. NEA said that their officers are trained to handle "challenging field situations", and the agency has "strict protocols" to guide them. "This includes engagement and disengagement of offenders, as well as handling of situations where offenders try to escape," NEA said. Offenders caught smoking in a prohibited area can be fined from $200 to $1,000, according to the agency's website.

Anyone read this? Come on, getting into a stranger's car just for a free ride?? She got more than a free ride, kenna robbed and raped. And a Proton Savvy?? At least a Toyota ma. SINGAPORE - A 34-year-old woman who had trouble getting a taxi at 5am got into the car of a stranger who offered to drive her further up the road. But she claimed the "good Samaritan" raped and robbed her before kicking her out of his car after he had his way with her. On Monday, 24-year-old storeman Haliffie Mamat stood trial in the High Court for raping the woman in his Proton Savvy along Kallang Bahru on May 4, 2013, and robbing her of her brand-name handbag and the items inside. He denies raping her and disputes the contents of her bag. The prosecution has lined up 40 witnesses to prove its case against Haliffie in a trial scheduled for eight days. Deputy Public Prosecutor Sellakumaran told the court that the victim, who cannot be named under a gag order, waited for about an hour along River Valley Road when Haliffie stopped his car and offered to drive her somewhere else where it was supposedly easier to get a taxi. After she got into the front passenger seat, Haliffie offered to send her home. She dozed off in the car and when she woke up, the car had stopped. The DPP said the evidence will show that Haliffie stopped the woman from alighting, threw her handbag to the backseat and raped her after a struggle. After the rape, Haliffie drove off for a short distance, stopped the car, opened the door on her side and kicked her out to the road. He then drove off with her bag. The stranded woman got into a taxi and told the cabby that she had been raped. The cabby and a friend he subsequently picked up nearby will testify about that the woman had asked to go to the police station, said the DPP. Police officers on duty at the Geylang Neighbourhood Police Centre will also testify that the woman could not walk properly and was visibly injured when she told them she had been raped. Haliffie was nabbed when he sold a mobile phone that was in her bag. The prosecution will also lead medical evidence on her injuries and that she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of her ordeal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AytvUYy4P_c The next time someone asks you for a cigarette and you don't have one or aren't willing to give one out, make sure you let them down gently. Otherwise they may just set your car on fire. That's what one woman reportedly did at a gas station in Jerusalem. NBC News reports that an Israeli woman asked a man for a cigarette, and when he refused she held a lighter to the fuel filler and ignited the fumes. The entire incident was captured by the gas station's security cameras. In the video, we see the man pulling the pump nozzle out of the car when he realizes it's on fire. The nozzle spews flaming gasoline onto the ground, and the blaze quickly engulfs the rear of the car. Police say the fire was extinguished shortly after by gas station workers, and that the woman was arrested, though she denied setting the car on fire intentionally. The most important lesson to be learned from this video is to never spark up while filling up your car, but if there's another takeaway, it's to be kind to everyone you meet. We're not implying that the man in this video was rude in any way, but you just never know if you're dealing with a rational person or a complete psychopath. Hi bros, I was involved in an accident last month at newton circus, at Bukit Timah Road exit. My car was in the 4th lane of the bend and just as I passed Bukit Timah exit, there was another car in the 3rd lane which had knocked into my right rear bumper. That car was actually attempting to take the exit and just swerved left despite seeing my car 3/4 ahead of her. Then came this PRC woman shouting and insisting that it was my fault. We exchanged verbal war, one China style and the other S'pore style. During the conversation, she claimed I should have stopped my car, since I am ahead, for her to take the exit. She told me since it is my fault, I should pass her $300 to compensate her and she will not pursue anything. Told her go back mainland and play stones first. Never mind, I took down the details of what happened in my accident form which stated what had happened. On my copy, we both signed on every page to certify it's accurate. She has a similar copy too. The next day before she reported to her workshop, she called again to ask me to compensate her. All those she said the night before. Not wanting to waste time talking, told her it's ok, just go claim insurance since no one wants to private settle. After a month of waiting to know the outcome, my workshop C&C called today to tell me the china woman is engaging a lawyer to claim my insurance. Therefore, her insurance company will not be part of this process anymore. Accordingly to C&C, I can only do the same since she initiated this. I was told that her report to her insurance company is the direct opposite of what had happened. But because I have a black and white on the whole story bearing her signature, I have a strong case in my favor. Now before I decide what to do, can anyone advise if they have been in a similar situation before? Any comments on my next step? Appreciate if anyone or a legal advisor can enlighten me with the questions below. 1. If I decide not to engage a lawyer, what would happen then? Does this give her the right to claim my insurance straightaway? 2. If I lose the court case, do I pay for the other party's legal fees and then her car damages will be claimed against my insurance? 3. How long would such a case drag for? 4. What would my chances be? 5. What are the procedures for this whole saga? Thanks everyone for the time reading my long post!

Seems like the North Koreans are the best as far as 2014 is concerned. In SG, hardly see any female soccer matches. http://www.japantoday.com/category/sports/view/n-korea-beats-japan-in-womens-soccer-to-win-gold-at-asian-games INCHEON — North Korea upset defending champions Japan 3-1 to win the Asian Games women’s soccer gold on Wednesday—and again it was all down to leader Kim Jong-Un for sharing his wisdom. Kim Yun-Mi, captain Ra Un-Sim and Ho Un-Byol were all on target as the North Koreans totally outplayed World and Asian Cup holders Japan to avenge their loss in the final four years ago. The North’s players squealed with joy, some bursting into tears, at the final whistle as around 60 of their flag-waving comrades in official tracksuits hopped with delight in the stands. After the match, their coach dedicated the gold to North Korean leader Kim, a big sports fan who is reportedly ailing. “This was an inevitable result as the North Korean players trained with dedication and never stopped fighting to return the warm love of our dear leader Kim Jong-Un, who watched over us” Kim Kwang-Min told reporters. “Our respected leader visited our training camp on July 11 and gave the team valuable instruction on how to win the gold medal at the Asian Games. This victory reflects the boundless feelings of the players for our dear leader.” South Korean fans chanted support for their neighbors from north of the border throughout, many waving unification flags showing the Korean peninsula in blue on a white background. The North’s players sprinted over to the main stand after a celebratory team hug and unfurled their country’s flag as thousands of local fans seated behind huge unification banners with the same design serenaded them with: “We are one At the medal ceremony, local fans and the delirious North Korean delegation continued to chant the same mantra to each other from opposite sides of the pitch. “When our team was being cheered on by South Korea I felt we are one nation,” said coach Kim. “We are all brothers and sisters. I could sense a feeling of Korean unification.” North Korea took the lead after 12 minutes when midfielder Kim stabbed home from close range following some dreadful Japanese defending. They produced a moment of true class to double their lead seven minutes after the interval, Ra latching on to a long diagonal from Jon Myong-Hwa to finish with a clinical right-foot shot.

I would love to start a similar business leh.............but for female customer only............. [laugh] https://sg.finance.yahoo.com/news/meet-woman-cuddles-strangers-60-192750139.html Professional cuddler Samantha Hess relaxes with Portland musician KaiKani Seven Vanity. "Let's hold hands and cuddle up on the couch, or listen to some soft music while we curl up in your bed — I am happy to be the big spoon or the little spoon." This is one of the first things you'll read when you visit Samantha Hess' website, Cuddle Up To Me . At the age of 30, Hess is a professional cuddler. For $60 an hour, she'll intimately snuggle with strangers of all types, and bring them one-on-one cuddle time without the complications of a relationship. The idea came to her in 2012, when she read an article about a guy with a "Free Hugs" sign at a local Saturday market. Another man stood next to him with a "Deluxe hugs, $2" sign, and ended up getting more hugs than the first guy. "That was my lightbulb moment," Hess says. "I was at a place in my life, out of a 13-year relationship, where I needed a service that didn't exist. I was struggling and not ready for another relationship, but still had an inherent need to be accepted and loved." Hess didn't know where to turn. She wanted physical comfort that was safe and socially acceptable to reach out to. So in May 2013, she started Cuddle Up To Me. A month later, a local newspaper featured her business in its annual "Best of Portland" issue, which helped the company gain traction. From there, the story spread to over 40 TV stations across the country, accumulating over 17 million views — and her business took off. Currently, professional cuddling is her only job, and Hess says she is making far more money from this business than she did in her previous jobs as a customer service representative or personal trainer. "It's definitely enough to make a living just doing this job, and I never need to take more than five sessions a day," she explains. By working six days a week, Hess can make up to $7,200 in a month. About 90% of her clientele are men between the ages of 20 and 75, and she says many suffer from severe traumatic diseases or disabilities that prevent them from having frequent human contact. "I call my service a 'massage for the mind,'" says Hess. "It's meant to rejuvenate you and make you feel that openness and happiness in your brain by resetting your system from top to bottom." Within 24 hours of her first session with a client, Hess usually gets a phone call or email about how much it meant to them. "I can't tell you how many times I've had to turn down tips, because people are so excited about it," Hess says. What makes her service so great? Hess loves each and every one of her clients with a "human grace." "It's about being able to genuinely look anyone in the eye and make them feel loved and accepted exactly as they are," she says. "My clients know that I don't judge them at all, I just accept people." She treats everyone like her family, no matter who they are. Plus, Hess will go almost anywhere for a cuddle session, whether it's a love seat in a movie theatre, local park, or their bedroom. What's most important to her is keeping her client comfortable. She has pre-arranged cuddle mixes and meditation music to set the mood. Hess will even wear make-up, a certain color of clothing, or specific hairstyle if her clients request i Carla Axtman Samantha Hess, 30, is a professional cuddler. For her clients who are less comfortable with physical contact, she also created her own cuddling positions. "The Tarantino," for example, is for those who want to keep their personal space. "We sit facing each other with a good three feet between us, but our knees go over each other's, and we're cuddling with our legs and arms," says Hess. Although rewarding, Hess' work doesn't come without challenges. "It can be a little tough, because my clients get extremely attached to me," she says. One gave her a physical key to their heart. "It was the sweetest thing, but I had to remind him what the service is, and that we weren't going to be anything romantic," she recalls. She is quick to prevent any inappropriate actions, through her in-person vetting process, a full-page waiver with preset rules and boundaries, and transparency with her clients. "In our culture, the only experience someone has with this kind of touching has been in a romantic sense," says Hess. "It's not always easy for people to switch their brains to simply being platonic about it." Hess emphasizes that it is only appropriate to touch her where it would be okay to touch a child. If she's uncomfortable with anything, she gives her client two taps to signal for them to stop. "If they're looking for a replacement for sex, they're not going to be happy with my service," she says. This work also comes with its share of emotional burdens. "It can be very draining," she says. " Some people have difficult emotional issues they want to talk to me about during our sessions." To cope with this, she meditates before every session. She also showers and changes into different clothes afterwards, because she wants to make sure she's completely fresh in both her mind and her body before taking on her next client. Hess has a boyfriend who is very accepting of her service. "He knows what I do is a form of therapy and that it really makes a difference to people," she says. Next month, Hess will open her first retail store and create a national cuddling certification through a 40-hour-long training program. "This is my life's work. I want to change the view of Western culture on platonic touch," she says. "Everybody should have a way to reach out and feel comfortable with that."
