  2. Dear SGCM readers, We have created a thread on a list of Tyre-size and models with prices for your quick reference. Although this is based on our stock, we hope that it can be a useful one page price guide on-Tyres to have an estimate to do some budgeting. Best Regards Click here to go to the mycarforum thread for Checking Tyre Prices
  3. Hello all, Recently I've gotten myself into an accident and my car flew over the center divider. I replaced the the parts that needed to be replace but the problem now is that the car is sitting unevenly. The car is now sitting more on the left than the right. Meaning that the car is higher on the right as complared to the left. Does anyone have any contacts for me in order to get this fixed. I need to get this sorted out hahaha. The slant is quite obvious.
  4. Any bro can recommend a reasonable workshop in AMK Autopoint? Recently, my Camry have some squeaking sound on & off from engine bay, will need a honest & experience mechanic to advise...
  5. i saw a gold chrome wrap BMW in Macau and i know that chrome is my dream wrap already. but i might be considering maybe red chrome or silver chrome too. basically need to know a workshop with good workmanship because i heard that chrome wraps are a bit different from normal wraps in that it cannot stretch thus require very fine skills. just for reference, it should look something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWNy36bC5Ag
  6. Hi bros, anyone can recommend workshop that repair radiator cheap? My radiator water leaking from the top. Need to change it asap. And how much does it cost for the repair? I'm driving 2007 Nissan Latio model. Thanks.
  7. Bro and Sis, please help to recommend good workshop for reparing Power window of Toyota Estima? The holder that hold the glass have been broken. I have long story with Sparkcarcare with this window repair. It will be 3rd time I send in to assemble nicely for the window since I cancel the repair. The current service agent try to offer me to change the whole glass window with the holders (I need to purchase my v-kool again. Where by the prevous agent mention only change the holder). I verified with Borne Toyota and MBM that I can only change the holder. MBM informs me that there is no stock for the holders but need to wait 2 weeks for purchase. The worst is that Sparkcarcare simply assemble back the window with 3-4 mm gaps open that allow rains to go in between glass and rubber seal. I send in 2nd time in a day to re-allign the window. Today I learn that they broke few clips of side panel and power door cover is loosing that I will send in at 3rd time. They also broke my window visor and agreed to replace tomorrow. I am speechless!!! I never have such problem with them since using the ctr for almost 6 yr for regular oil change since previous accord. I use them since it is the authorised shop for PI estima. The warranty just expired at Mar 13. So bro and sis, is there a better workshop for repairing Estima? MBM is okay? I think that Sparkcarcare may not good in repairing but only servicing oil. I feel scary with Sparkcarcare and wonder if they can continue to perform the repair.
  8. Hi all, Is there any workshop that could do a professional installation of a video cam? The wires should be concealed nicely. I don't mind the $$, but it has to b a professional job. Thanks
  9. i have 2 problems. 1. moving at low speeds below 30km/hr got some funny sound that sounds like whistling. read up online, seems like a common problem, either an undercarriage loose screw or tensioner problem. 2. when braking from high speeds >90km/hr, steering wheel will vibrate terribly, most probably a brake pad uneven or something. seems it is a common issue again. is there a workshop good with nissan vehicles like the sylphy? don't want Tan Chong cause so expensive. anyone driving sylphy suffer same issue?
  10. Hi guys, My ride is reaching 35k soon and I noted the wearing out situation on the tyres. I have read around and decided to go for Bridgestone GR90. Any workshops you would recommend and why? On another note, just wanna ask, if you happen to have a punctured tyre on the roads, what would you usually do if your vehicle doesn't have a spare tyre? I heard things like patching and even tolling the car to a workshop. Do we get things like to select which workshop to go to etc? Please enlighten me on this as I lack the experience. Thanks
  11. Hi bros, am due for my 15k servicing but I do not want to go to the "free" workshop that my PI just set up coz honestly they are crap. I'm driving a Toyota Estima and if there are any Estima owners here that have a fav workshop can you share them with me or PM me pls. Alternatively I don't mind hearing the opinions of the other members of this forum. Only thing is its preferable if its in the East and they do not have a surcharge if you bring your own oil. Cheers!
  12. dear forumers, im looking to buy a 2nd hand car.. does anyone have any independent workshop to recommend to do a comprehensive check on the condition of the car ? ie gear box chasis etc... the dealer says will bring to STA or VICOM but im a little skeptical after reading up on their reputation in the papers recently. just want to make sure im not buying a lemon.
  13. To fellow bros, anyone have any recommendations to install bonnet for toyota altis 08 make? tomyaaaaam

  18. Hi guys! To save the money in our pocket, cheap workshop is another option we can get... i went to Malaysia JB today... lackey around for workshop to change my suspension. They qoute me RM$80 ( Labour charges ) for all fours! and RM$20-30 ( Labour charges )to change my motor oil include one oil filter only... ( have to bring own oil).
  19. I wanted to give this feedback for some time liao. I was introduced by a bro who has retired from the scooby scene and moved on to the very woman brand. He told me : ' No one touches my car except Ron'. So I just went ahead and never look back since. Foo Brothers is known for the dedication and committment to customer satisfaction. Never will you encounter a situation where you will need to wait even though appointment has been made. Understand that some other workshops will still take in car despite schedule is already full, resulting in mechanics multi-tasking and end up, usual job takes longer than normal to complete. For them, very simple, schedule full means really is full. They wont take in more to compromise quality of job. I had my basic oil change service and also major servicing done there. I can only say that I know my cars are in safe hands. The mechanics really know their stuff well. In terms of pricing, they are very reasonable and best part, bo GST... In fact, just to share, I have a recent radiator(bought elsewhere) replacement and all was good. Subsequently, I went for a normal oil change and Ron spotted some leaks at the radiator outlet after his walk-around check( which I believe most will not bother to do this- finish the primary job and car is ready to roll out). I monitored the situation and decided to seek Ron's help as i think he is the best person for the job. In rolled my car yesterday and he replaced the outlet nut with a better quality one. The thing here isn't about the job but about his vilgilance. I cannot imagine the end results should the slow leak have gone undetected. His service is really tip top and I gotta apologise for talking about 'office'( i.e. car matters) with you after 'office hours' (530) Ron, thanks again! Disclaimer:I am in no way related to them but just thought I should share a good and cheap workshop with all:)
  20. Hi All, any trusted workshop to recommend for 80k servicing? Pls do not recommend ADs (Authorised Dealer Always Chop Carrot) Thnx
  21. Hi i am now on D1 Specs BBK and its time to change brake pads and bleed system I am driving a Lancer EX 2.0 GT. I want to ask if there is any recommendation for a place that do proper brake flushing and VACUUM brake bleeding, the leg method used by many workshop proven to be not very effective as after a few months air entered the brake system again and need to bleed again... I also want to know if any one of you is on the d1 spec caliper and know that is it possible to use better brake pad than the d1 spec one, looking at a better brake pad also but not sure will it fit into my caliper. If inconvenient to post recommended place to do brake flush and brake bleed please pm me as the one thread i have found here is dated 2011 thus dont think accurate anymore. Thanks in advance
  22. Hi All, I went to a workshop wanting to replace my worn-out front brake pads and at same time asked for renew all new brake fluid since already 3 yrs old, this is what the technician said "Change the brake pads enough but actually brake fluid not need to change. Can last 5-6 yrs.Besides yr Honda car (mine is a Stream) brake system always have problems after renew, caused brakes to jam".....How true is this? I didn't believed him (even the workshop wasn't busy so should be OK to change brake fluid), so can someone kindly recommend a good workshop near Queenstown area. Cheers!/ Str2
