  1. Humph...... just got back from lunch and it is raining cats and dogs so after I parked the car, proceed to dry the car out. People that parked their car, look at me like I siao or something. Colleauges that passed by also laugh at me. So in order to check my sanity, how many of you folks dry your car after coming in from the rain?
  2. Just thinking....my kid will be welcomed into the world early next year and I will like my kid to a good headstart and enroll into popular/famous primary school next time. Will of course enroll my kid to a good pre-school first. If the school of choice is not within the 1km radius, what kinda 'volunteer' work do you need to do? Say the school is a quasi-independent school (like St. Nichs)? Some say donation will do, some say must do volunteer work for 2-3 years.... Hmm how do you even approach the school to ask about such stuff anyway? Your advices will be most appreciated :)
  3. Ermm... Is Subaru aiming at VW? Let's discuss on WRX vs Golf. Which is better in terms of power, comfort, safety, etc?
  4. Lots of topics about bikes and motorised bikes lately. So I thought, time to share the blame around, haha. What's the most crazy/inconsiderate/aggressive pedestrian you've ever encountered? I'll start with an anecdote of a real crazy guy. The champion for sheer insanity has to go to this guy I encountered power-walking down the road. Nothing unusual in that per se. Except this guy (who looked educated and well-heeled - not some blur Bangla or Cheena guy) was doing it smack in the middle of the violently, blindly-curving South Buona Vista road (that some jokers like to take really fast), at around 10-11pm, wearing a black exercise getup. With earphones, no less - so even his ability to react would've been diminished. Funny, his was probably the only exercise routine likely to decrease life expectancy. Please share your stories.

They seem to like telling the world every damn thing happening in their life. Some of the updates are really bo liao... copy and paste some for you guys to see: "dropped my ruler twice today." "had brown rice for lunch." "it's Monday." Don't you think they are super bo liao? Who wants to know all these? How about you? How regularly do you update your facebook status message?

  15. Sorry folks....another noob question from a father-to-be.... What kinda of insurance/saving/education package or plan do you get for your child? I am looking for those long term plan that contribute XX amount of money a month and after say 18 years can get back YY amount of money. Sorry...just wanna have some rough estimation the amount I need to keep aside every month

  17. Hiya All, I had created a thread on enrolling your child to a top primary school and had gotten quite mixed responses. 2 School of thoughs.... (a) A top primary school has the right environment and culture to nuture the kid in a competitive world, alongside with competitive and outstanding peers (i.e. mix with the 'right crowd'). (b) Your average primary school is good enough...why stress the kid and make his/her childhood miserable? Can means can...cannot means cannot...don't push the kid too hard and let nature takes its course... What say you?
  18. To the bros driving sc/tc cars do your cars feel more wu lat on rainy/cold days?

  20. Hi all, Anyone put your child at Q-Dees Kindergarten? the school will have music & dance/ concert performance soon at replubic polytechnic. What surprising is, the school not allow the parent to bring camera/ video camera. Already need pay for the ticket per adult, still need (optional) to pay $35 for entire event film in DVD. Sure 100% all parents will pay that $35 film, but is that the way, they earn money? Hope bro here can give your genuine opinion about that school policy.
  21. How much of your salary do you keep aside for your own use/saving? Especially if you are married with or without kids? For me...more than 80% goes to my own family (joint acct with wife which pays the bills and installments and household expenses) and to my parents (which I give a decent sizable sum every month). Is that the norm? According to the salary survey, I am above median for someone in my professor and in my age guy (business analyst, 31-35 yrs) Just curious....appreciate sharings from you good folks here
