  5. Yesterday when i was at Silent, i saw this Airtrek very nicely modded. And guess what i saw when i walked nearer. - A NOS kit at the rear. It was so promient and i was wondering wow the owner is sure very daring to put this in such a easily seen area. If i were to have a NOS kit, i will try to hide them in places where not easily seen. I think he is

  7. Anyone driven any 2 these 3? They seem to belong to the same 'hatchback' family. Seeking some owner's opinion... So far I've only gather : MIT Airtrek: 2.0L engine, Turbo optional, steering very light, adequate side mirrors, spacious, stock braking seems insufficient, acceleration seems underpowered (don't have the 'kick' feeling as compared to some 1.6L cars I've driven). Cannot perform 'handbrake' launch with the auto.(or at least I tried). H-Airwave: 1.5L engine, no turbo. no chance to test yet Matrix Revo: 1.8L engine, no turbo. same as 1.6L matrix but with bigger engine. no chance to test the revo, but i dislike the 1.6L. acceleration is similiar to the 2L AirTrek - draggy. But at least the brakes are more responsive. Light steering but not as light as the airtrek. Country of origin/manufacture and brands and price aside, If I were to choose, what merits will I need to base it on? (brand zealots please go away.) Your feedback appreciated.

  12. Hi Airtrek drivers, Could you help me to decide which upgrade i should go for? 17" or 18" Original rims are 215/60/16. I'm going for looks, but i dun wish to lose too much power on acceration. Please help.
  13. Just done a CAI for my Airtrek. Can feel the car breathing better now Or maybe it's just because I'm running almost empty tank There are precious little space for a proper CAI, any fellow Airtrek owners want to know how I do it can request for pictures lor. I upload them later. It's basically a flexible hose running to stock airbox via a sawn off air intake pipe (from grille to intake box). The reason why I saw off part of my intake pipe is so that I can retain my resonator box. So even though I'm feeding air from near front bumper area to the airbox, induction noise remains the same. Btw, I'm using a Unifilter drop-In for my Airtrek. It's a pass me down from my previous Lancer. I find that this filter allow my car to be more willing to rev than compare to K&N or stock. Previously I was running a modified stock intake setup, which is almost a CAI. However, I just don't think it's good enough. Just for info, my previous Lancer was running 2x3" pipe feeding into my "modified" airbox Thank you Keat..
  14. In between Honda CRV, toyota RAV4 , Mit Airtrek turbo and subaru forester which would you pick. So far, I only test drive Forester 2.0XT turbo only, generally quite like the car on performance, handling and comfort level, but lack of information on reliability, maintenance cost. In term of look, CRV more modern look . thanks

  16. as above is it true? anybody can advise. thank you
  17. Today, passes by C&C workshop and saw a few brand new AirTrek w/o license plate .. just out of port ... white sticker all over... One thing that caught my eye is the rear light cluster is now transparent like those on RX300 ! Cool man ! Much better than the plain red light cluster ! Am surprised that so fast, they facelift the AirTrek liao !! Super7, gotta ask them to throw U the rear-light cluster at the big discount liao :-)
  18. My gosh, I was impressed just now when I left work. Me and my Vios were at a T-junction to turn left. An Airtrek turbo comes up next to my left, laden with passenger. As the road cleared, I just accelerated to turn left and so did he. I wasn't flooring to chiong, just normal acceleration. He was gone so far by the time I cleared the turn and straightened out. He was so gone and I was left in the dust, just admiring its power
  19. I did another version of CAI for my Airtrek as I find the 1st setup to be less than optimum. There's at least 2 90 degree bend in the previous setup. As the stock air intake position is already very good, I decided just to modify the stock setup. Firstly, I saw away part of the stock air intake pipe (CAI_01). Next the saw-away part was replace by a 2" pipe (CAI_02, CAI_03). Insulation is then apply to the new setup (CAI_04). To further enhance the CAI effect, I cut away part of the bonnet rubber seal directly in front of the intake opening (CAI_05). Immmediate effect that I felt after this setup is that surges in the first 2 gears is much more pronounce now. Thank you Keat..
  20. Super7 and other AirTrek lovers, check out this new version in Nipponese! Super7, u can look out for these genuine accessories from Mitsubishi! http://www.space.co.jp/mmc/report/airtrek_sportgear.htm
  21. I think for the basic 2WD Airtrek without sideskirt and bodykit, silver is the best colour. I saw this today.....with the 16" rims as standard, it's not too bad.
