  3. The new Chevrolet Cruze has not been brought in as of 2017. This model has been speculated to come on sale in sg by first or second quarter of 2018 (iirc) And since there is only talk about this model but no threads on it, I decided to take the initiative to start this thread. This model, if priced correctly, can sell adequately. For this model, there is only a 1.4 turbocharged Petrol or a 1.6 turbocharged Diesel engine, so the 1.6 NA will not be back... Dimensions : Wheelbase:2700mm Length:4666mm 4453mm(hatchback) Width:1795mm Height:1458mm 1465mm(hatchback) Weight:1195-1300 kg* * Chinese models. Rest of them are international (us ) models. Thanks.

  6. Hi I went down to the showroom and went for a testdrive on the new Cruze 1.4 turbo. Frankly, I was very impressed. My previous ride was a Ford Mondeo which I am scrapping. The low depreciation, very attractive pricing and overall ride is really tempting me. I have not owned a Chevrolet before and was wondering how is the service from Alpine Motors? Anybody can shed some light on this?

  8. GM Holden recalls 9,000 cars over faulty fuel hose Posted: 18 March 2010 1057 hrs SYDNEY: General Motors' Australian subsidiary GM Holden on Thursday recalled 9,000 Cruze sedans over a faulty fuel hose, after a raft of damaging glitches hit Japan's Toyota and Honda. A company spokesman said some of the hoses on 1.8-litre MY10 JG Cruze models had sprung a leak, and some owners may notice leaking fuel, a petrol smell or loss of power. No accidents or injuries have been reported. "A condition has been identified where, in some instances, the fuel feed hose may not have been manufactured correctly and could result in a fuel leak," the spokesman said in a statement. "We are aware of 71 cases of a reported fuel leak due to this condition." The recall, which affects 9,098 cars in Australia and another 485 in New Zealand, comes after Toyota pulled eight million cars over accelerator and brake problems. Honda has also recalled hundreds of thousands of vehicles over substandard brakes, exploding airbags and power windows which risked catching fire. Daihatsu, a Toyota subsidiary, has been hit by similar problems. "We regret any inconvenience caused. However, safety is our number one priority and it is our duty of care to inform customers as soon as an issue comes to light," the Holden spokesman said.

  12. dear bros and tai-gors out there I have my Cruze 1.6 LS (A) for a year now. And I am still clueless how to get rid of this buzzing noise coming from the seatbelt compartment (near driver’s right ear, where we grab the seatbelt). It is not there all the time, it is getting worse now. Being there most of the time. It can get worse triggered by songs with heavy bass (no kidding). It is not sound in my head (tested by other drivers). It sounds like friction to the seatbelt inside the compartment. Rubbing the seatbelt with by rough fingers can generate a similar buzzing noise. No way to stop it when it happened. It comes and go. It sometimes happen even when car not moving but only engine started. It is notice-able even with radio on because it is close to my right ear. The one on the passenger side has the same issue, not as noticeable because it is far from my ears. From the previous visits to Chevrolet center, test drive with the technician has failed to ‘simulate’ the buzzing noise. The technicians claimed they have opened up the seatbelt compartment but found nothing abnormal or faulty. Please let me know if anyone faced this similar issue and recommend me with the possible root cause and solution. Thank you very very much in advance Rocki
  13. I am thinking of buying the Chevrolet Cruze LS 2012. It is sad that the Alpine Motor did not bring in the 2013 version. I was told the first servicing at 1000 KM is free. May I know what is the mileage that the subsequent minor and major servicing will be done at? Also, how much will it cost for the minor and major servicing at Alpine Motors?
  14. Changed out my so-called sealed life-time transmission ATF fluid (Dextron VI) for the 2nd time. 1st time was at 55k km. This time 85k km. It was murky brownish red. Unfortunately its not a complete drain. Only 5L against a total of 7L. So still has a lot of old oil inside. Looks like need to do another change just to dilute the old oil further. Why would manufacturer suggest life-time use and design it to be service-unfriendly I don't understand.

    Holden Cruze FR

Rented one recently. Here's a quick FR on it: Styling: Everything identical to the Chevy Cruze. Nice exterior & interior styling for a B&B car. Dash controls are comprehensive and display looks impressive on first impressions. Reasonable roominess both in front and back. Boot can swallow a large 29" suitcase easily wif probably room for 2 more cabin bags. Driving Impressions: Steering could do wif abit more feel. Quite at idling but engine is quite vocal (and not the nice type) and coarse when revved; which is something one has to do quite often since the 1.8L engine is hopelessly underpowered. I can't imagine how the SGP-spec 1.6L auto can even move.... Ride quality is pretty firm (almost conti-like) and NVH is reasonable. Car was shod wif standard-issue 15" Kumho Solus and as expected, handling ain't exactly the sharpest. Built Quality: Looks nicely put together....until you shut the doors, that is. Typical tin-can, hollow sounding doors lets it down. Otherwise the touch points on the interior seems ok. Conclusion: The 'New Chevy" seems to be on the right path to recovery. Makes the Aveo, Optra and whatever stuff they used to make look prehistoric. But the weakest link is still the engine. The 1.8L simply doesn't cut it in this package. Read somewhere that GM is developing a new 1.4L Turbo for it, thank goodness. Since the new Astra runs on the same platform as the Cruze, there's hope yet. At least GM Korea improved on their styling but it's still no Peter Schreyer masterpiece. Overall, nice but there are still better B&B cars out there.
  18. We know these cars are not so new but would like to see which is the better car.
  19. Hi guys, after the Comparison In Mag Torque for this month. I think it will be good to discusee these 3 models at 1.6L having the same price range. 23. gorgeous hatch to launch in Europe. not sure if coming to Singapore yet. Chevrolet has revealed the first photographs of a new hatchback version of the Cruze. It will be unveiled at the Paris motor show at the end of this month, and the five-door car will join the existing four-door saloon in Chevrolet showrooms in the middle of next year. Although the two models look similar, the hatchback stands out from the saloon with its coupe-like roofline. The range of engines and trims will mirror that of the saloon, although the new hatchback will be launched with Euro V-compliant engines, which will find their way into the saloon in due course. Exact details of the car and its specifications will be confirmed nearer its on-sale date, so there is no confirmation of whether every detail of the show car
  24. Previously recognised for a best-in-class, five-star crash safety rating in Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) testing in Australia and Chinese New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP) testing in China, the Cruze has now achieved a five-star Euro NCAP rating, becoming the only car ever to achieve maximum points in frontal offset and side impact crash tests. The Cruze received a maximum 16 points in the frontal offset collision and a maximum 8 points in the side impact test against a moving deformable barrier, making it the first passenger car to receive maximum scores in both tests since Euro NCAP began providing crash test ratings in 1997. Overall, it scored 79 points out of a possible 100
