  1. With the current Subaru Forester (launched in Q1 2013), 2 years old and the most popular Subaru car in 2014, I'm surprised that I can't even find a thread on it, so I'm starting one here. Are there any recent buyers who would like to share their views or recent purchasing experiences? http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/article.php?AID=12527 Motor Image Enterprises, the exclusive distributor of Subaru in the region, announced that Subaru vehicle sales in Singapore grew by 210 percent in 2014 (January 2014 - December 2014), jumping from 201 units in 2013, to 623 units in 2014. The award-winning Subaru Forester, which was launched in the first quarter of 2013, is the highest-selling Subaru vehicle in Singapore. Growth was also experienced across various markets with Taiwan and Malaysia experiencing a 44 percent and 24 percent increase in sales in 2014 (January 2014 - December 2014) respectively. At the same time, Consumer Reports, an independent organisation that publishes reviews and comparisons of consumer products, announced that Subaru won the Consumer Reports Top Picks of 2015 in three categories. In addition, Subaru was ranked 5th overall in the automotive brand ranking. The Subaru vehicles that won the Top Picks of 2015 are as follows: Compact car: Subaru Impreza Mid-sized sedan: Subaru Legacy Small SUV: Subaru Forester
  2. Hi bros, Owns a forester fxt but believe it is appropriate to start new thread on new 2019 forester under their global platform after already available ones for XV, Impreza etc. Cheers. Richard https://www.autoblog.com/2018/08/16/2019-subaru-forester-price-25270/ Interesting options available for USA forester buyers which may tickles to Singapore buyers since understand all still built in Japan and only limited info from recent launch in Taiwan by MI, including pending availability of 2.5l version
  3. I am starting this new thread/topic on Subaru EyeSight as there have been many discussions among the Impreza, XV and Forester forums, and many Owners are cautious about having solar film fitted to the front windscreen. I collected my SK Forester last week and has been exploring the EyeSight system since then. Let's start with MI disclaimer whereby buyer has to put his/her signature on the declaration form. In my opinion, the disclaimer is very relevant. Why is this so? The EyeSight system allows the driver to drive with it OR to manually switch-off either lane-departure detection or pre-collision braking or both features altogether. The 2 switches are located on the cabin roof, above the rear view mirror. In other words, Subaru (or anybody else) will not know whether the EyeSight was in operation should a front collision occurs. Also, EyeSight will not work above 60 km/h (+ / - ). What will happen if a crazy driver drives at high speed and crash his Subie and then seek legal compensation from Subaru for the "defective" EyeSight system. I am sure all other car manufacturers that offer driver assist crash avoidance system will insist buyers to sign the Disclaimer form. At the end of the day, the driver is still fully responsible for the vehicle safety, not technology. To be continued ...
  4. 2022 Subaru Forester Facelift Rendered To Strip Off The Camouflage source: https://www.motor1.com/news/463700/2022-subaru-forester-facelift-rendering/ The changes are subtle but keep the crossover looking modern. The Subaru Forester is on track to be the brand's bestselling model in the United States in 2020, and the company is doubling down on the success by preparing a refresh for the popular crossover. After seeing spy shots of the updated model, the folks at Kolesa have a rendering imagining how it might look. As with most refreshes, don't expect any revolutionary design changes. The comparison below shows the 2022 model with a boxier grille and relocated crosspiece that shifts the Subaru badge lower on the vehicle's face. The revised lower fascia has somewhat larger openings in the corners, and the fog lights remain there. The opening in the center is bigger, too. Expect only the smallest changes along the Forester's flanks. Subaru might change some of the trim, but the crossover is going to look the same, in general. The changes to the rear are very minor. A revised bumper no longer has an opening for the exhaust outlet, which creates a somewhat cleaner appearance back there. The hatchback is a bit smoother, too. There are no details yet about how Subaru might change the refreshed Forester's interior. The usual recipe these days involves updating the infotainment system with a bigger screen and tweaking the cabin's materials. Powertrain changes are similarly mysterious. Expect the 2.5-liter flat four-cylinder engine to stick around. In a dream world, Subaru would re-introduce a turbocharged version of the Forester by installing the brand's 260-horsepower (194-kilowatt) 2.4-liter powerplant into the crossover. Although, there's no evidence that this is what the automaker plans to do. Look for the refreshed Forester to debut in the first few months of 2021. Sales should begin in the second half of the year.
  5. Greeting, After 3 mth of car searching, below is the pro and con of the 3 cars I have shortlisted which all can get at ~$114k same price range. Handling comparison for these 3 car is not part of my consideration among them as all are in acceptable level to me. fyi, I only need to drive ~ 1k km/month. My criteria are based on total cost to maintain, look, spacious, equipment level and performance. 1.2L Qashqai (OMV 19k): -Cheapest to maintain (lowest Road tax & insurance), good FC -Pwr & torque - Weakest among the 3 cars -Up to date equipment level -Has numerous power lost complaint concerns -Bonus as this is the only car that has my preferred colour (best exterior look) Remark: The only wow factor if I get this car is because of my dream colour 2L Forester (OMV 14k): -highest insurance and worst FC -Best performance among the 3 cars but not very far apart unless is XT -Dated equipment but can still live with it -Spacious Remark: The only wow factor if I get this car is if I upgrade to XT with additional ~$10k Like the spacious but dislike the cost to maintain 1.6L C4 Picasso (OMV 22k) -Highest road tax but best FC -Futuristic and best in equipment (best interior look) -Most spacious and with rear aircon vent -Worst reliability Remark: This car will be my 1st choice if minus away the reliability (which is one of my most important criteria) concerns. The worst reliability might resultant to highest maintain cost than the Forester May I have your advise which car should I choose and why? Thanks

  18. Hi guys, I just got a 2008 Forester 2.5XT. Main dislike I have in priority is that : - gap between tyres & wheels look too wide (current on stock 17" rims & tyres) - cabin is too noisy, mainly road noise & wind - too much body roll Any recommendations on not too expensive ways to resolve the above?
  19. I wonder if any MCFers driving the current generation Forester can tell me what their FC in real-world driving conditions is like. Is it significantly worse than a 2WD SUV such as a Kia Sportage? Thanks.
  20. I notice that there is 2 models of Forester in sgcarmart for sale. 2.0XT, 2.5T & 2.5XT. Between these 3 models, what are the main difference. 2.0XT last models in 2005 2.5T as early as 2005~2007 2.5XT 2008 onwards. Is the 2.5T as good as 2.5XT?
