  1. The all-new 2017 Impreza debuts the Subaru Global Platform architecture that's designed to deliver significantly higher levels of driving pleasure, agility, crash protection and ride comfort and will underpin a variety of upcoming Subaru vehicles, including hybrids. As before, every Impreza is equipped as standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, a boon to driving agility and traction and a key advantage over front-wheel drive competitors. The roomier 2017 Impreza models also debut the brand's new design language and new driver-assist technology. Also new, multimedia features including standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and standard Near Field Communication connectivity debut on Impreza. The new Impreza will be available in base, Premium, Sport and Limited trim lines when it arrives in Subaru dealerships in late 2016. Subaru's new design language puts the brand's signature hexagonal grille and hawk-eye headlights onto a more sculptural body, its athletic stance accentuated by prominent wheel arches and flowing lines. The dramatic new look carries into the cabin, with an outward-flow design that follows the front of the car. The 2017 Impreza rides on a 105.1-in. wheelbase, up 1.0-in. over the last generation Impreza. Both the Sedan and 5-Door are 1.6-in. longer than the outgoing models, and both are 1.5 in. wider. The larger dimensions create a roomier cabin, while a 0.4-in. lower height helps improve aerodynamics with a lower coefficient of drag. Although sleeker in appearance than the previous models, the 2017 Impreza Sedan and 5-Door preserve excellent all-around visibility. The new Subaru Global Platform, together with the Boxer engine, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and EyeSight® that represent Subaru's core technologies, constitutes the basic foundation of the next generation of Subaru vehicles. Impreza's new platform incorporates new frameworks with optimized cross sections and highly stiffened joints between structures to significantly enhance straight-line stability, agility and ride comfort while suppressing noise, vibration and harshness to a degree not seen in the compact class. Specifically, the new platform increases rigidity of the unitized body structure by over 70 percent. A lower center of gravity and revised suspension systems contribute to the biggest-ever leap in Subaru's performance evolution. The double-wishbone independent rear suspension mounts its rear stabilizer bar directly to the body, which helps reduce body roll by 50 percent compared to the outgoing model. Greater hazard-avoidance capability is another benefit of the Subaru Global Platform's inherent handling agility. In addition, the resolute straight-line stability that makes the 2017 Impreza more relaxing to drive is also an important constituent of the autonomous driving capability this platform can support in future Subaru vehicles. Taking full advantage of the new stiffer platform and more powerful engine, the Impreza 2.0i Sport, now available in the Sedan as well as 5-Door, delivers a more fun-to-drive performance feel thanks to exclusive suspension tuning, 18-inch machine-finish alloy wheels and Active Torque Vectoring. Subaru aimed for a new ride/handling balance benchmark in the compact segment. The Sport also includes a new 4-way Tire Pressure Monitoring System, which is available on other models. Exclusive exterior styling and features setting the Impreza Sport apart include standard LED daytime running lights (DRL), black-finish front grille, body-color rocker panels and turn signal side mirrors. The Impreza Sport 5-Door features gloss black rear gate trim, while the Sport Sedan has a rear trunk spoiler. Inside the Sport, unique black cloth upholstery is trimmed with red stitching, a motif that repeats for the steering wheel, gear shift, instrument panel and door trim. The instrument panel incorporates exclusive Sport gauges and a Multi-Function Display. The Sport comes well equipped, with upgrades over the Impreza Premium that include the Subaru STARLINK™ 8.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system, and a new harman/kardon® premium audio system is available. Keyless Access & Push-Button Start, aluminum pedals, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift handle and a CVT shift boot round out the Sport's enhanced standard equipment. A revised version of the FB 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Boxer engine gains direct fuel injection and other enhancements to boost both performance (now 152 horsepower vs. 148 before) and drivability. In highline trims, the Lineartronic® CVT (continuously variable transmission) features a 7-speed manual mode function with steering wheel paddle shifters that allow the driver to control the transmission via seven pre-set ratios. Subaru designed the 2017 Impreza to provide even higher levels of safety than the outgoing model, which was named an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and a TOP SAFETY PICK+ when equipped with available EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. The new platform underpinning the 2017 Impreza improves crash energy absorption by 40 percent over present models. The EyeSight® system includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Pre-Collision Braking and Lane Departure and Sway Warning, plus a Lane Keep Assist function. Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are also available. Also new are available Steering Responsive Headlights, which can illuminate curves as the vehicle steers into them, and High Beam Assist, which automatically activates and deactivates the high beam headlamps based on driving conditions. All 2017 Impreza models include as standard equipment front seat side impact airbags, side curtain airbags and a driver's knee airbag. The 2017 Impreza adds new driver-assist technologies, including Reverse Automatic Braking and the display of steering lines for the standard rear vision camera. Reverse Automatic Braking can apply the vehicle's brakes if an obstacle is detected while reversing. A new 4-way Tire Pressure Monitoring System can detect pressure drops at individual wheels. Subaru STARLINK™ Multimedia systems offer the latest in digital music playing, Bluetooth® wireless capability, iPod® control, smartphone integration and more. The display screen also provides the display for the standard rear vision camera, and the top-level system includes navigation. The available Subaru STARLINK™ Safety and Security Connected Services give the 2017 Impreza one of the industry's most affordable telematics options. Depending on the package selected, features can include SOS Emergency Assistance, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification, Maintenance Notifications, Monthly Vehicle Health Report and Diagnostic Alerts, Stolen Vehicle Recovery Service, Vehicle Security Alarm Notification, Remote Lock/Unlock, Remote Horn and Lights and Remote Vehicle Locator.
  2. Fans of WRX, hope this summary bring back some fond memories of those days you are driving one. The Subaru Impreza isn't the most exciting model when it stands on its own. However, the addition of three letters – WRX – or six – WRX STI – changes the game, quickly becoming a formidable performance machine that takes full advantage of Subaru's all-wheel-drive expertise. But the car we have today is a far departure from the Impreza that Subaru introduced nearly 20 years ago. 1st Generation (1992-2000) the first-generation Impreza WRX and WRX STI are some of the most desirable models today. The stripped-down RA version took things to the extreme with no A/C, anti-lock brakes, or horn. In 1994, Subaru introduced the WRX STI, which took the WRX and further upgraded it. 2nd Generation (2000-2007) The second-generation Impreza introduced the controversial "Bug Eye" design while increasing the model's dimensions. The "New Age" Impreza design saw the coupe body style disappear, but it was also the generation that saw the WRX arrive in the US for the first time in 2002. The polarizing styling would go through two revisions before the third-generation model's debut. 2nd Generation (2004 Facelift) The first facelift attempted to rework the front-end design, eliminating the round "Bug Eye" design only to replace it with what'd be dubbed the "Blob Eye" design, which was an improvement. The WRX model also got a tweaked suspension for improved handling while other small changes were made inside. The 2004 design previewed the next-gen redesign that'd arrive just two years later. 2nd Generation (2006 Facelift) The second facelift, pulling from the automaker's aviation heritage, introduced the automaker's new corporate face. It was a substantial refresh with new headlights, a new grille, and a new bumper. Subaru fans nicknamed it the "Hawkeye" design. The updated model also saw Subaru replace the WRX's 2.0-liter engine for a larger 2.5-liter one while tweaking the chassis and brakes. 3rd Generation (2007-2014) The third-generation Impreza further refined the car's design, growing in size again over the outgoing model – it was wider and longer than before. The third-gen also saw Subaru replace the wagon with a five-door hatchback variant. The new WRX was mostly unchanged, carrying over the previous-gen model's engine with a few other changes inside and out. 4th Generation (2014-Present) The fourth-gen WRX marked a shift for the automaker, removing the WRX and WRX STI models from under the Impreza brand in the US. However, it still shares an overall shape with its former stablemate, though it wears a unique front end and rear quarters. Subaru also introduced the turbocharged 2.0-liter FA20F engine with the WRX. The fifth-gen model is expected to arrive in 2021 or 2022.

  11. Greetings to all Impreza Drivers and Lovers of AWD. I will first start by sharing my tips to increase FC for my new car. Currently my Impreza 1.6i MT is still under RUN in less than 1600 km The Run in Engine Oil is very thick , thickest compare to Mineral oil and Full Syn oil I have acheived 12-13.5km /litre of petrol with lot of careful driving. TIPS 1) I have installed EZ-stab EXTreme. I have just Spend $620 on this Extreme. Very worth it It aids in Power and Fuel Efficiency 2) I always change gear @ 1500 - 1700 rpm. I entered 5th Gear @ 60km/hr speed. 3) I always set my gear to NEUTRAL during down slope, enter 5th Gear and slowly release clutch when I am about to reach flat road. I do that everyday on CTE. 4) When I saw red light at a distance, I will set Neutral and let it cruise. I dare to do this because it is AWD. Very Stable. Not afraid it will skid or anything. AWD is the best. 5) Check and pump to the correct tyre pressure every alternate days. I am hoping to bring this Impreza to 15km/litre. I am in constant process to search for good products and tips to improve on FC. anyway the petrol price have increased. Since I have bought subaru cars, i do not think i will switch brand. I am aiming for a SUBARU Legacy for my next car. I hope all the GURU out there in MCF will contribute on the tips of BEtter FC. I will humbly accept advices. Cheers GIMMY
  12. Hi guys, I am looking for a used sedan with a tight budget. Age should be around 6 to 7 years old. Which one do you guys recommend and what are the reasons?

  14. hi bros have the above statement stated would like to enquiry that where can i do my ecu tuning? at singapore or malaysia the cheapest ecu tuning? how to stop my car cut off? ecu tuning alone will it prevent any cut off at 180km/h?
  15. Every morning for the past 2 months, when I drove past the road opposite Citibank, I will see a white impreza parked on the side road on double yellow line and the driver will always not be around. I am curious did he park there the whole day or since last night? Thou not very heavy traffic,, but being a 2 lane road and this car is blocking one of the lane, I find it quite inconsiderate. Anyone notice this car as well?
  16. Any good place to recommend for aftermarket or original parts?
  17. hi guys, i'm getting my first executive car (been driving Honda occasionally). And is having a hard time considering between these (auto or steptronic): 1) Mazda 3 2) Subaru Impreza 4D 3) Mitsubishi Lancer EX Which of these do you guys recommend for me? I dun mind slow pickup, main thing is style, safety, comfort, cheaper maintainance (and spare parts), and the ability to drive all the way up to 10 years. Once i get something, i like to hold on to it forever. Alternatively, i'm also considering these two: 1) Hyundai Avante 1.6A S 2) KIA Cerato Forte But always heard from friends that korean cars are not so good.... If can cut costs to get same features, i dun see why not though...
  18. Hi everyone, I wonder if you guys have any good lobangs to buy parts for the Subaru Impreza 08 4-door sedan? Am driving a 2.0 RS sedan now, been trying to look for autoshops that sell parts, bodykits to replace the damaged ones that I have, but all of them refer me to Motor Image. In my opinion Motor Image's mark-up is quite high and the 'rareness' of the 4-door 08 version in Singapore is making it difficult for the small group of us to source for replacement parts.
  19. Hi guys .. i m currently driving a Impreza 1.5A.. i wan to improve the pick up and maybe the horse power of the car .. is there anyone that could with me some recommendation ? (Don't ask me to change car :X this is my 21st bdae present) Thanks !!!!
  20. The fourth generation 2012 Subaru Impreza has arrived, and to paraphrase Huey Lewis, the first thing you might notice is that it's hip to be square... er. Underneath its skin, the new Impreza says a few things that Americans aren't so used to
  21. Subaru released a side profile shot of its 2012 Impreza sedan ahead of the car's New York Auto Show debut, and now, our trusty spy photographers have caught the new Subie out in public, revealing its fresh face. Rather unfortunately, the production-spec Impreza looks to be a pretty drastic departure from the decidedly hot concept car that bowed at the Los Angeles Auto Show last November.
  22. Check out this video of this guy Alexander Pringle from Denver Colorado destroying a Subaru Impreza in an off road trail. Notice that he then abandoned the vehicle on the trail. Jackass!!!
  23. Anyone saw these? Saw one prowling highway and neighborhood today.
  24. Hi all, I have narrow down my choice to these 2 cars model Lancer 2.0 GT and Impreza 2.0RS with Manual transmission, looking at USED not brand new, which will be ur pick and why ?? Thank you !
