Total waste of space (and material) in my opinion since the engine option is unlikely to be anything larger than an IL4 2.0 sump which will be transversely mount as usual.   2. There are various meanings behind tailgating or "poking" another motorist. In general, it is used to show displeasure towards a motorist who is "road hogging" lane 1 of an expressway and telling him to move to a slower lane, or to "jio" someone to race. Two drivers of an Audi S3 and a Honda Accord Euro R got into an online dispute over a misunderstanding. The dispute started when the Audi S3 intended to overtake the Euro R (cam car) from the left, only to be blocked by the Euro R, who switched to the left lane simultaneously, intending to let the Audi S3 pass him. After misunderstanding the Euro R driver's intention, the Audi driver decided to "poke" and tailgate the Honda driver to show his displeasure. Subsequently, after the incident, the Euro R driver took to social media and called out the Audi S3 driver for his behaviour earlier on, which he felt endangered the safety of both drivers, the Euro R driver's kids and other motorists around them.   3. 10 Generations Of Honda Accord Show The Family Sedan's Evolution source: https://www.motor1.com/news/446925/honda-accord-evolution/ It all started back in 1976. About two years ago, a nifty set of renderings refreshed our memory about the Honda Civic’s timeline by revisiting all ten generations to show the remarkable evolution of the compact car. Fast forward to 2020, the same folks at Budget Direct Car Insurance have sent us a new batch depicting the Civic’s bigger brother – the Accord. First Generation (1976-1981) Much like the Civic, the larger Accord has also spawned a total of ten generations, with the original launched back in 1976. It initially came out as a three-door hatchback before the four-door sedan was introduced in 1979. Power came from a 1.6-liter with a respectable 68-hp output sent to the wheels via a five-speed manual. The sedan arrived with a beefier 1.8-liter and was also equipped with power steering. Second Generation (1981-1985) The first Japanese car assembled in the United States, the second-generation Accord was larger than its predecessor and had a substantially different look with boxy styling. It gained an optional four-speed automatic gearbox in 1983 and got its engine bumped in displacement from 1751cc to 1830cc to unlock 86 hp. More oomph was added in 1985 with the arrival of the Accord SEi and its fuel-injected engine pumping out 101 hp. Third Generation (1985-1989) Once again, the Accord received an increased footprint for its third iteration, which came along with a third body style in the form of a sleek coupe. It was mechanically superior to its predecessor, featuring a Honda-first double-wishbone suspension at both axles as well as a more aerodynamically friendly body. Honda increased the engine’s size furthermore, to a 2.0-liter unit with 98 hp on tap when carbureted or an optional 110 hp with fuel injection. Oh, did we mention it had pop-out headlights? Fourth Generation (1989-1993) With the risk of sounding like a broken record, the fourth-gen Accord was enlarged once more, fully qualifying for the midsize sedan status. Honda boosted the car’s practicality with the addition of a wagon that replaced the hatchback. A newly developed 2.2-liter engine was rated at a healthy 130 hp for the flagship EX model. There was even a sport mode for the four-speed automatic transmission, allowing the driver to choose gears manually. Sadly, it lost the nifty pop-out headlights. Fifth Generation (1993-1997) The fifth-gen Accord saw the addition of VTEC for the 2.2-liter engine and the sedan’s first V6, a 2.7-liter unit making 170 hp and 165 lb-ft (224 Nm). The versions equipped with the bigger engine had some design tweaks at the front to distinguish them from the four-pot models. Honda stretched the wheelbase for extra rear legroom and proposed a sportier design. Sixth Generation (1998-2002) No more wagon body style with the sixth-gen model, with only the coupe and sedan surviving. The two-door model was developed in North America and had a slightly shorter wheelbase than its four-door counterpart. Front airbags came as standard, with side airbags available at an additional cost. The base engine was a 2.3-liter with 135 hp, while an optional 3.0-liter V6 had 200 hp. Seventh Generation (2002-2008) For its seventh iteration, the Accord got more powerful engines across the range. Even the base four-cylinder unit now made 160 hp, while the 3.0-liter VTEC V6 pumped out 240 hp. Both got a little bit more power later in the life cycle when an electrified V6 was added with a combined output of 253 hp. The coupe allowed customers to order the V6 engine with a manual gearbox for the first time. Eighth Generation (2008-2012) Creating a greater visual differentiation between the sedan and coupe, Honda increased the Accord’s size yet again for the eighth generation. The V6 engine – now making 268 hp – was once again offered with a three-pedal setup. It was bumped to the fullsize car class by EPA, and spawned a hunchbacked Crosstour fastback for the 2010 model year for added practicality. The oddly shaped version was two inches wider than the sedan and added about 300 pounds (136 kilograms) of weight. Ninth Generation (2013-2017) Not necessarily a fully fledged next-generation car, the Accord Mk9 was more of a thorough refresh of its predecessor. The sedan gained a Sport variant with a standard six-speed manual and a little bit more power than the regular four-cylinder models, along with dual exhaust tips as well as bespoke wheels. Honda went back and forth with the hybrid version, which managed to get an EPA rating of 48 mpg thanks to its electrified four-cylinder engine. Tenth Generation (2017-Present) As for the current-generation Accord, the coupe has gone the way of the dodo together with the V6. The base 1.5-liter turbo engine is good for 192 hp while the larger 2.0-liter unit develops 252 hp, with a hybrid version also available with 212 hp. The electrified model does 48 mpg in the combined cycle. Even though it’s larger than the model it replaced, the tenth-generation model has shaved off 110 to 176 pounds (50 to 80 kilograms) depending on trim by making greater use of aluminum and ultra-high-strength steel.

The 2019 Honda Accord PHEV also features additional technology features to convenience the driver and passengers. 2019 Honda Accord PHEV – Engine and PerformanceThe new Honda Accord is expected feed from either of these two power trains; the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four and the turbocharged 1.5-liter inline four with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The latter is however projected to be the main engine in most cars. The base engine (with CVT) yields 192 hp with the alternative yielding 252 hp (turbo inline four with 10-speed automatic). The new Accord is an incredible power machine capable of accelerating to 60 mph in a mere7.3 seconds compared to its predecessors 7.6 seconds. The 2019 Honda Accord PHEV covers a quarter mile in 15.7 seconds at 91 mph. It offers 10:3:1 compression ratio, a variable valve timing system, a fast charging LI-ion battery 6.7 kWh capable of charging for approximately 3 hours and 1 hour in 120 volts and 220 volts sources respectively. Apart from improvements on the engine, the 2019 Accord is capable of supporting a remote control from a Honda link smart phone application. It achieves 29 mpg EPA rates in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. 2019 Honda Accord PHEV – Price and Release DateIn conclusion, the release dates of the 2019 Accord have not been made official.   6. After watching this clip that was spotted on SG Road Vigilante, we can't help but see the importance of being able keep our own temper in control. Losing one's temper is easy and when not kept in check, you might end up doing something you will regret in the future. Shot on the evening of 26th of September 2020 along Central Blvd, a Honda Accord can be seen in the video cutting in from the left of the camera car at high speed before slamming onto its brakes real hard. The camera car, which itself seems to be going along at quite some speed, could not stop in time and crashed into the Accord as the result. While no one can confirm the Accord driver's intention, it is almost safe to say that he just wanted to let the camera knock into him by braking hard to a stop for no reason. As it was a slight bump, no one was hurt. The Accord driver then got out calmly and proceed to take some photos. So guys, what do you reckon? Is this part of a road rage incident which the camera car's footage did not show? Or is it an insurance scam? Or is it a combination of both? Let us know in the comments below!

  8. Hi.. Euror owners here. I Received Takata airbag recall letter from Jack Cars in november last year. Some background info. got this car about 1 year ago from direct owner off sgcarmart. this car is 10 years old. coe renewed last november. am unfamiliar with this as i am a first time car owner so pls pardon me if i ask some stupid questions or "common sense" ones. if really so dangerous why did the recall took 10 years? some eurors already scrapped also. part recall is it something that happens frequently? usually after letter sent from agent/dealer, how long will it take to change the defective part? and whats the ddowntime? thanks in advance.
  9. Hopefully you guys can post this in the maintenance and repair section I have a 2013 manual Honda Accord. Yesterday I was driving it and all of a sudden the clutch went soft and now the pedal is stuck to the floor. The clutch fluid reservoir is still full. My mechanic told me it is probably the clutch master cylinder. My problem is that right now I don't have enough money to pay my mechanic to fix it. I drive for UBER for a living so I need my car working in order to make money. So I have a couple questions. First, do you agree with my mechanic that the problem is most likely the master cylinder? Secondly, I have not worked on cars much and have only done simple things myself. So I was wondering if replacing the master cylinder is a task that I should attempt to take on myself?
  10. Someone in the States have made a cool commercial to sell his fiancee's 1996 Honda Accord. The video went viral in less than a week and the one minute plus video has since garnered in excess of 3 million views. Shot in California, the ad comes with a cheeky side and in our opinion, can rival a new car commercial. In fact, according to Carscoops, the ad managed to convince many bidders, raising the price of the car from $499 (S$680) to over $100,000 (S$136,400) on eBay.   11. Honda has unveiled its all new Honda Accord for the American market. It is set to go on sale in September with turbocharged engines. Featuring a face similar to the Civic, the new car has a sportier and lower roofline, making the car look much sleeker than before. Seems like Honda is staying away from the usual three-box sedan design and is giving its sedans the trending fastback look a.k.a Audi's A7 and BMW's 6 Gran Turismo. Inside, drivers will find a new three-spoke steering wheel, new soft-touch instrument panel and and an 8-inch Display Audio system with physical knobs for tuning and volume. Seats are said to be new too with more deeply padded arm rests and taller shoulder bolstering for additional support. Rear passengers will get to enjoy almost two inches of extra rear seat legroom. Teck geeks will be happy to find a new 6-inch head-up display and wireless smartphone charger in the car. Meanwhile the keener owners will be be treated with a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 192bhp and 260Nm of torque and will be paired with a continuously variable transmission. A 2.0-litre turbocharged unit with 252bhp is available with a new 10-speed automatic but it is unlikely to make it to our shores. Thanks to a lighter and more rigid body structure which uses ultra-high-strength steel, the new model will weigh between 50 to 80kg lesser than before. The car is also said to have a lower center of gravity, making it better to drive than before.

  13. After 18 long years, there finally is a new Proton Perdana to replace the 1995 model based on the Galant. When the production model comes out, it'll be a good chance for Malaysians to own an Accord at a discount. Doubt it'll ever come to Singapore though, come here become same price as real Accord.

  16. Hi everyone, Recently my 2008 Honda Accord 2.4A dashboard had some lights lighted up on the dashboard. They are the VSA and ABS light. Brought to Kah Motor and diagnose, but was told that the VSA Modulator Assembly is damage and need to be replaced. Can any bro/sis recommend or know any workshop who knows how to repair or replace such module? Instead of going back to authorised dealer. Thanks in advance. Cheers!

At a recent press conference, Honda CEO Takahiro Hachigo announced that the next Accord and CR-V models will based on the same platform with the latest Civic and will use downsized turbo petrol engines. Both models will be part of its core global models and with this sharing of platform, the company hopes to be more efficient in the development and production of other global models. Also revealed in the conference, Honda is almost ready to launch its Clarity fuel-cell vehicle and it should be on sale after this March.

  19. A recent visit to Honda Singapore's Facebook page revealed the impending arrival of the all new Honda Accord. The ninth generation Accord already went on sale in the North American market back in September 2012. Since the past two generations of the Singapore-bound Accord hail from Thailand, the factory source of the latest version is almost a forgone conclusion. The specifications of the Thailand Accord will tell a lot about the model that we will be getting. The new Thailand Accord is available with a 155bhp 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine or a 174bhp 2.4-litre i-VTEC Earth Dreams Technology. The 2.4-litre unit is a brand new engine from Honda that employs VTC (Variable Timing Control) and direct injection technology with extensive friction reduction measures. This is in addition to the usual DOHC and VTEC technologies. Both engines are mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. This may sound a tad disappointing as class competitors such as the Kia Optima and Mazda 6 have already adopted a six-speed setup. Measuring 4,870mm by 1,850mm by 1,465mm (L x W x H), the new Accord is shorter but wider and sits lower than the outgoing model. The front double wishbone suspension has been replaced with a MacPherson strut design while the rear retains a multi-link setup. It is the first Accord to use a strut suspension since the second generation. From a safety aspect, the new Accord is available with Collision Mitigation Brake System (CMBS) that alerts the driver of an imminent front end collision and applies the brake automatically. The Honda Lane Watch Blind Spot Display provides an enhanced view of the passenger-side roadway. The 2.4-litre variant comes equipped with six airbags while the 2.0-litre makes do with four.   21. Which car will you get? 1. 2008 honda accord 3.5 $66k 2. 2008 nissan teana 3.5 $65k 3. 2010 honda accord 2.4 manual $79k I'm driving a "unloved" japanese car now. And I got it rather cheap and value for money. Looking for something bigger now. And the idea is to go for something that isn't too popular but still sort of main stream japanese. The depreciation of the 3 above works out to approx 12k. Yes road tax is higher for the 3.5, but it's alright for the added power. Consumption isn't a major issue as I do not foresee hitting more than 15k km a year, most probably around 13-14k km. these cars are probably very difficult to move for the dealer. So I also intend to bargain some. Also do you guys have any other suggestions for unloved japanese sedans? Don't really need an MPV now even though with 3 kids. I know I could always buy a new toyota wish, which is a safe and boring choice. Depreciation is approx 12.5k-13k.

  23. Not so long ago, Japanese automaker Honda introduced the new 9th generation Honda Accord. However, it seems that Honda has yet to be satisfied as the company has introduced another variant of its luxury sedan, the Honda Accord Hybrid. The launch took place on 21st June 2013 in Japan. On this occasion, Honda took the privilege to launch two versions at the same time. The first version is the pure hybrid version which makes use of the so-called Sport Hybrid i-MMD (intelligent Multi-Mode Drive) drivetrain. Another version is the plug-in hybrid version. The Japanese automaker claims that the pure hybrid version will reach 30km/L in terms of fuel efficiency. As for the plug-in hybrid version, Honda claims it has what it takes to reach 70.4km/L. I believe what plays an important role in this case is the fact that the driver can choose to max out the electrical power with the plug-in hybrid version. It also seems likely that Honda will apply the Sport Hybrid i-MMD drivetrain to its upcoming models. And, with the launch of the Honda Accord Hybrid, Honda is offering no less than three driving modes. If the driver chooses the first driving mode, only electrical power will be used when the car is standing still, moving slowly, or when it is running at an average speed. It is only when the speed starts to climb higher that the car will switch to its gasoline engine. With the second mode, the gasoline engine will directly start using the generator provided in order to supply energy to the electrical motor so that the car can move. This will also give the car maximum acceleration. Then, with the last driving mode, the car will count on its gasoline engine to help the car run at its maximum reachable speed. Conveniently, the driver can also choose to turn on all of the driving modes. This seems more suitable to new drivers, I believe. Choosing this option will give a fuel efficiency of 30km/L in average. The Honda Accord Hybrid uses a lithium-ion battery which, if fully filled, will ease the driver's mind in terms of refueling or recharging up to 37.6km! It's quite a far distance to enjoy driving a luxury Japanese sedan and forget about juice, isn't it? However, unfortunately, Honda seems determined to only rent the plug-in hybrid version of the Honda Accord Hybrid while it is offering the pure hybrid version for sale already.
  24. From its previous generation to the recently launched one, the Honda Accord has been a generally well-liked family sedan. So to add on a bit of spice, I've decided to see whether there are any nice tuning bits for this handsome car. Mugen has already done some cool packages for the Accord. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that this is actually the Accord Hybrid, which has not arrived on our shores yet but it seems to me that most of the styling changes can be retrofitted onto the normal Accord too. On the outside, Mugen has given it more presence with a new set of front, side and rear skirts. There are carbon front grill and carbon boot lid spoiler as well. You can also opt for their new 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels to improve on the handling side of the already well-balanced sedan. Other than the above mentioned, those who already have the car should go and get a set of coilover to complete the stance look!
