Hi, Anybody have experience with a vw caddy tdi? it's a diesel engine , parts wise any diff from the normal VW ? does Servo service TDI ? Any comments? thks.

Volkswagen has released the Edition 30 Caddy, the brand's light commercial vehicle, to commemorate its 30th year in production this year. The external changes of the Caddy Edition 30 include gloss black roof, fog lights, roof rails, twin halogen headlights, painted bumpers and 17-inch Budapest alloy wheels with black highlights. 'Edition 30' logo can be found on the dual sliding doors, rear end and door sills. On the inside, the special edition receives two-tone Alcantara upholstery, a leather steering wheel and climate control. Other goodies include an upgraded RCD 310 radio/CD unit, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors. The compact van is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine which is capable of 138bhp. The manual version completes the century sprint in 10 seconds while the six-speed DSG model takes just 0.1 seconds longer. The DSG-equipped Caddy returns a combined fuel consumption of 6.5 litres per 100km.

This is Volkswagen's facelifted Caddy compact van that enters the 2011 model year with six new TDI diesel and TSI petrol engines. The exterior facelift includes a completely redesigned front end that draws inspiration from the latest Volkswagen models and re-trimmed tail lamps at the back. Inside, there's a new steering wheel design, a revised instrument cluster and higher-grade materials. For the first time, the second row of seats can be completely removed on all models. This allows for a maximum cargo capacity of 3,030 liters on the 5-seater Caddy, up to 3,880 liters on the Caddy Maxi. On the safety aspect, a new Electronic Stability Program and daytime running lights will be standard across the range. Those opting for a diesel have a choice of four engines with 75HP, 102HP, 110HP or 140HP. The 102HP and 140HP TDIs can be hooked up to an optional DSG dual clutch transmission, while the 110HP TDI is exclusively available as a 4MOTION model with four-wheel drive. On the petrol front, the redesigned Caddy's lineup includes a new range of 1.2-liter TSI four-cylinder turbo engine with 86HP or 105HP. The most powerful version returns a combined fuel economy of 6.6lt/100km.

Hi all, have been planning to get a Caddy 2.0 DSG MK3 for some time and wondering is there are any owners who have experiences on wear & tear with this car? All I understand about some issues are that the 06-08 versions most probably will have clutch issues after some 3-5 years. My mech also strongly advised against the MK2 1.9 TDi for various reasons like as it is a lot older, parts are more prone to be replaced and VW parts dont come cheap, and also that technically, servicing and repairing an MK3 is a lot easier than an MK2. (Not too sure how true these statements are though) Any idea which MK3 model by year seems to be the best? Have been searching through EVC and AVG forums but seems like both are inactive and a search only came up with 6 threads on MCF. Many thanks!

Hi Guys, Need some advise. I am aware that the authorised agent for VW commercial vehicles is Cars&Cars @ Toa Payoh. I went down but they don't even have showroom model. No stock for the next 2 months or so. But when I called streetsmart at turf city, they can also offer me VW Caddy within 2-3 weeks. Guaranteed COE. I can also test drive the Caddy. They got 1 there. He even told me that the delivery is confirmed one. Can write down black and white. But he claims the vehicle is taken from agent (which means C&C right). So I'm quite confused. If C&C no stock, how come other dealers can still sell it? Same price also. Me really need a van soon. Within 3-4 months. Need to plan now. Either buying a Caddy 2.0 SDI or a Fiat Dablo 1.3MJT. Going to test drive these 2 on sat. According to reviews, I think the Fiat got better power coz got turbo even though 1.3L. But the caddy looks nice, and the build is good.

Would you get a VW Caddy 1.9TDI with DSG for $47800? I went to check it out today and it looks really good. Lots of goodies - 1.9TDI, DSG, traction control, climatic control, factory fitted mp3 headunit, ABS, airbag, power and heated wing mirrors, 15" sport rims, keyless entry and immobilizer.
