  1. Hi all, I'm a newbie here first time buying car. Im interested at elantra, avante, vios and shuttle. What's the reasonable price for the cars and how much depre to look at? My wife prefer PARF Car but yet to view any yet. Im OK with COE car. But now COE damn high, Used Car also follow COE price.
  2. I just changed my air-con valve and condenser and thoroughly flushed the piping system. Thereafter, I topped it up with new air con gas and oil. It costs me a whopping $830 😐 There was a leak and since it is an old car already, I might as well just change the old parts in case they fail again. I hope it last me for many more years.
  3. Will it see the daylight on our sunny island soon? I seriously doubt so given the unreasonably high cat A COE premium. The new Vios was launched on 9 August 2022 in Thailand as the Yaris Ativ. It is developed by Daihatsu through a joint Toyota-Daihatsu internal company known as Emerging Market Compact Car Company (EMCC) under the lead of executive chief engineer Hideyuki Kamino. It is based on the DNGA-B platform shared with the Raize and the W100 series Avanza. The model is introduced with a 70 mm longer wheelbase at 2,620 mm (103.1 in). Compared to its predecessor, the car features a fastback-like sloping rear roof section which stretched the window line further back. Following the foot steps of Mitsubishi Attrage, it will be equipped with the 3NR-VE 1.2-litre engine with Dual VVT-iE technology producing 93 horsepower / 110 Nm torque, and paired with a Toyota-made CVT gearbox marketed as Super CVT-i. No words if it will be followed by the regular 1.5L engine.
  4. TL;DR – A Toyota Vios gets smashed by a motorbike at an uncontrolled junction while attempting to turn right when there was another vehicle impeding its view. Back in your army days, if you had a platoon mate like this Vios driver, you probably would have ‘blanket party’ him for being a ‘sabo-king’. Watch the 42-second video to understand why. What happened? According to the caption of the video, this incident occurred in Clementi Ave 2, at 5pm+ yesterday. A motorcyclist overtakes cam car and accelerates ahead only to go head-to-head with a Toyota Vios attempting to make a right turn at the junction. Use your brain If there’s another vehicle obstructing your view, inch forward to see if there’s any oncoming traffic like normal people maybe? Who in the world ‘cheongs’ without looking? Damages look bad Damages to the motorbike aside, the Vios looks like it got banged up pretty badly too. Good luck with the insurance claims. Online Chatter Whoever thinks the motorcyclist is at fault, is blind. Hmm. Interesting. Yeah! What this person said! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  5. If you are a regular social media user, you would have seen your fair share of weird or unusual vehicle incidents in Singapore. Well, you can add the following incident to that list. Watch it here: What Happened? The incident occurred in Hong Lim multi-storey carpark. After waiting for a Honda Vezel to reverse park into a handicapped lot, the cam car proceeded to move off. Just then, a Toyota Vios accelerates out of his parking lot at full speed, without any warning. The sudden acceleration caused the Toyota driver to lose control, colliding with multiple cars and motorcycles parked opposite it. Subsequently, the momentum and impact from the initial collision caused the Toyota Vios to crash into another row of parked cars. After the subsequent crash, the Toyota Vios came to a complete halt. Following this, the driver can be seen opening his door before the cam car drives past him. This has got to be what was on the driver's mind. The Aftermath Thankfully, it seems there was no one in the vehicles involved in the collision then, apart from the Toyota driver. Although it is unknown if the Toyota driver was hurt, no one else seems to be hurt from this chaotic incident. Here's to sending the Toyota driver some well-wishes. It is going to be rather traumatic for him. Netizens' Comments I am not surprised at all. It is Honda HRV or Vezel, not Honda CRV or Bezel 🤦‍♂️ 👀 ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! Simply WhatsApp us ➡️https://bit.ly/3c6JERA
  6. hi everyone, i read the threads in this forum with enthusiasm everytime. the comments and discussions are very informative to a new driver like me. I have a VIOS and it runs on a 14" set of rims. i am thinking of upgrading the rims but could not decide whether i shld go up 1 or 2 sizes. has anyone upgraded from a 14" and how is it? pls advise? thks.
  7. Now that is dangerous. Here's another case of a car catching fire while parked. As seen on SG Road Vigilante's page, a Toyota Vios caught fire despite not even being driven. This happened at on 2nd of Dec 2020 at blk 638 of Punggol Drive and thankfully it seemed like no one got hurt by the incident. It is unclear why the Vios lighted up on its own and we hope the taxi that was beside it when it was burning wasn't damaged. Could it be its in car-camera's back up battery? Or was it something else?
  8. A video of a Toyota Vios racer wannabe losing control on All Singapore Stuff's Facebook page has gone viral! In a short span of one hour, the video has gathered 170 likes and 61 shares! If you haven't seen the video, here you go, courtesy of All Singapore Stuff LMAO It's a short 17-second video that you can't help just playing over again and again and laughing your ass off. In the video, you'll see the Toyota Vios speeding pass the dashcam driver like an F1 race car as both cars approach a gradual bend. The keyword here is GRADUAL. Somehow, the Vios manages to spin out of control and hits the cement portion of the highway barrier… not once but twice. Ouch. Damages This incident so viral that even my father sent me pictures of the accident. Looks bad for the poor Vios. And the irony of it all The sign says “BE PATIENT I’M LOWERED”. Can you not see the irony in this? Here’s a zoomed-in view. What the people say Yeah, lucky siol. Some resourceful people managed to find the driver's IG handle. This post made me LOL again. I think he's not smiling, he crying.
  9. Another Toyota Vios has gotten into an accident similar to the white 2nd generation example that went viral few weeks back on 23 March. Thanks to an unknown vehicle's in-car camera, we can see that this black first generation Vios lost it as it crossed the metal expansion strip that joins different sections of the Anak Bukit Flyover on the PIE. As seen on SG Road Vigilante's facebook page, the car seemed like it was speeding in the drizzle when the mishap happened. Check out the lorry driver's good reaction and evasive skills in avoiding the Vios! The Vios came to a stop on lane 1 with a Prius curiously avoiding it causally. For those who were wondering was that a Police bike on lane 3, it wasn't. Watch the full video and let us know what you think in the comment box below! 1.mp4
  10. May 2008 black Toyota Vios left 3 months $8123 is a good buy for renew COE? Current to renew 10yrs $39k. Car condition is good. Each year depre $4780 for 10yrs.

  12. Hey guys, I am getting my new Toyota Vios in a few weeks but it did not come with a reverse camera. I like to check with Vios owner if I can just install the reverse camera and link up ti the stock dvd player or I need to buy a brand new full set? Thks.
  13. Let me introduce you, my old 2010 and black Toyota Vios with fake carbon fiber hood! The car with dashing black limited edition 15" inch TRD Wheels, with "Brembo" brake callipers. https://www.facebook.com/carreviewsncare/videos/219492925663578/ Nothing is more fun that driving your own car, where you can sit in and outside of your car without worry the dent and scratches on the car. The interior of the car is spacious and come with full hard plastics dashboard that make the car really dull, suitable for boring man but it last really long time without rattle sound... The NCP93 VVT-i Vios engine is really powerful, cute and small at the same time. Now even Perodua Myvi 2017 are using the engine! The boot space is really big, and I can put all my rubbish inside without worrying dirty my car seats! The car come with hybrid of GT Street and TRD body kit that help to improve the aerodynamics of the car that cruising at 200km/h. This is no joke, man. I love the car because it don't have cruise control, volume control, paddle shift control on steering, etc...
  14. Create a new thread on the facelifted Vios. Already locally manufactured and available in China. https://youtu.be/hL5slxCLG68 https://youtu.be/qDwWUlmZ6BM Comes in 8 speed CVT and ESC. Not bad. More to come as Thailand launching this today.
  15. i'm driving a fl06 vios and had some problems recently. 1. there is a werid vibrating sound coming from the left of the engine bay whenever i stop at the traffic lights with D engaged. not too sure wat happened. the car is about 87,000km now.. 2. the suspension seems to be gone liao. somehow abit rocking like boat. juz wondering how much for a set of 4? thx!

  17. Toyota Motor Thailand has just launched the facelifted Vios and it gets an updated Dual VVT-i engine that will be paired with a CVT transmission. Outputting 108bhp and 140Nm from the new naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre four, the 2017 Vios is said to be more fuel efficient than before. According to paultan.org, there is no manual override function for the transmission which is sounds like a step backwards to us. On the outside, the Vios gets a light but noticeable refresh thanks to the new bumpers with DRL lights, grill, headlights and tailights. The alloy wheels get a new design too. Inside, we could not spot anything different other than the new speedometer cluster design. It is unknown when we will receive the new updated 2017 Vios.
  18. Hi all Jap car user users, considering buying this car (Nissan Latio, Toyota Vios & Lancer) but need your experts input on the maintenance cost. how much do you spent on maintenance on your Latio
  19. Anyone can help shed some light on this? As of 26 May, Altis starts at $121,888 while Vios starts at $126,888. Historically, isn't Vios cheaper than Altis? https://www.borneomotors.com.sg/asp/ToyotaPriceListPassenger.aspx
  20. Scary crash test of a Vios. What happen if Vios crash on to a conti car? Base on this crash I believe the backseat is gone too.
  21. http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_...p?CarCode=11315 honestly 100k? isnt Yen at all time low since 2009 P.s. Lets focus on Vios rather than been carried off with other topics
  22. There have been previous discussions on whether the Vios is worth it/not worth it. It always depends on a priority of interests; if you want something tried, tested, with cheap maintenance due to availability of parts, you have to live with the old engine and 4-speed auto gearbox which have been around since the very first rendition of Vios in 2002. I was wondering why hardly anyone brings us the option of going PI and get an Axio instead. Axio: http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_overview.php?CarCode=11325 Newer technology with CVT, various dealers selling, at most $115k. Vios: http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_overview.php?CarCode=11315 A Vios costs at least $123k now, and you all know how old the technology is. An Axio is ultimately a Corolla, which is one notch above Vios. Yet it's selling at a lower price, just because it's not from an authorised dealer. Although an Axio is smaller than the Altis, it still shares more technical underpinnings with it that should give it an advantage over the Vios. I really see no case for the Vios now.
