Have been parking at corners that don't cause any hindrance to other carpark users during super peak period, without any problem in the past. Looks like now cannot liao.
  2. Parked my car at a condo in the east. Happened to park at the resident's lot by accident as the marking on the tarmac was very faint. Furthermore, there were plently of other lots around. But luck would have it, my car was clamped. The thing is the left rear wheel was clamped and I attempted to drive off without seeing the clamp. Of course, the clamp worked like a charm and the car couldn't move. I press harder on the gas and heard some shrieking sound coming from the rear. I got out and smell buring rubber and some smoke coming form the rear left wheel. There was no note on my windscreen or any thing at all that might have warned me about the clamp. And I don't have the habit to check if my car was clamped before moving off(don't think anyone has). Nevertheless, the rims were badly scratched and i suspect the suspension was damaged as well. Anyway, I talked to the security guard and was told that i was the one who committed the offence first by parking at resident's lot so there was no cause for compensation. Now when i drive, i hear a knocking sound coming form the rear suspension. What recourse do I have?
  3. Damn pissed off with the guard at my work place this was what happened today. The car park was full... me: (waits at the entrance hopping that someone will go out and i can go in), i am still in the car the guard comes guard:you cannot park here me: i am waiting for some one to come out so that i can go in guard: you cannot wait here cos your car is near my sensor and will wrack havock in my system. (not true as i have done it later in the afternoon, waited for like 15 min) me: so, i move to one side without my car above your sensor. guard: that will be obstructing traffic coming into the car park. AND I WILL CLAMP YOUR WHEEL. me: what traffic, i am waiting inside the vehicle guard: : you still cannot park and i will clamp your wheel, you can go to other carpark me: ) drives off) then back at my work place: I saw the guard trying to clamp a buffet cafeteria's van while the diver was making his delivery (van was parked at the fire engine access) F**k that guard. if this is going to happen tomorrow again i will call the police. I just noted that the sign outside the carpark states 'cars park illegally will be clamp/tow' no mention of waiting
  4. Can claim or not? STOMPer BlueMoon caught sight of a Lamborghini that was wheel-clamped for two hours. Said BlueMoon: "Lamborghini kena wheel-clamped. "I was on vacation with my family when I saw a white Lamborghini get wheel-clamped for about 2 hours. "I suppose that rich people do not care about the wheel-clamp fees nowadays." http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...eelclamped.html
  5. An accident involving a lorry, a trailer and a car blocked off the East Coast Parkway (ECP) yesterday afternoon. At about 2pm, the trailer hit the lorry, which was on the road shoulder due to a flat tyre. The trailer then spun and hit a Nissan Sunny nearby. Five men, aged between 22 and 46, were taken to Changi General Hospital after complaining of pain in their elbows, hands and thighs. The traffic jam caused by the collision stretched from Still Road to Fort Road, as all three lanes of the expressway in the airport-bound direction were blocked off by the trailer. Police investigations are ongoing. ST PHOTOS: TERENCE TAN
