  1. Any DIY oil changers using this or know of anyone using this? www.fumotovalve.com Would like to hear from users on its efficacy.
  2. Hi, any bros here still have the fumoto drain valve for sale?I am looking for one(f103n}.
  3. Hi guys, Understand that a few bros here have a Fumoto valve installed, hope you can answer some of my queries. 1) Are you guys using the supplied fabric gasket? Did some reading in BITOG and quite a number of them mentioned crushable brass ones are better, was also told to avoid steel ones. 2) Have you encountered any problems with it on Singapore roads? 3) Did you apply white plumper's tape over the threads prior to installation? Futomo seems to be the best among the other quick drain valves, they have been in the business for a long time and many BITOG'ers have had them for almost a decade. My plug port is recessed thus I require an adapter, planning to get the model with a nipple, will be able to get my R.O.I in two oil changes. Thanks
  4. HI guys.. kenna poisoned with the above after meeting one of the MCF members yesterday. Anyone knows where I can get this and approx how much? Thanks !
  5. OK. The Fumoto Oil Drain Valve was installed when I filled the crankcase with Conoco Hydroclear Super All Season Diamond 5W30. I have hit 9.5k km with this oil. I started oil change this evening after driving back home. The engine was off for at most 3min when I came back armed with rubber gloves and the low profile plastic container. Now if you can recall for those who bought the valve, installed it and have not used it yet, the flick tap is very difficult to engage when it is not installed. I guess there is no lube and it is very dry. Now with valve installed. I just crawled underneath, flick and the oil gushed out. Easier then when the valve is dry. Only 3min after engine shut off, the oil was really hot. Flowed fast. I intend to do a UOA for this oil and counted 15seconds of oil flow before I collected the oil. Even the plastic bottle became soft from the hot oil. Didn't melt. I'm using laboratory boil proof grade Nalgene bottle. The oil is still draining as I'm typing. So convenient. Now, I have to remind myself to close the tap before putting in the new oil.
  6. Hello all, my Fumoto drain oil valve arrived, cost me only USD$27.95 including shipping. My package arrived in 18 days using US Postal Mail, not bad for USD $5/-. My 10,000km servicing is coming up. I skipped my 5K servicing by SA and did it myself. I was wondering if I bring my own oil and my Fumoto valve for my 10k km servicing, SA will install this valve for me? I also noticed that the valve comes with a fibre washer, not a copper one like the one on our drain plug. Those guys who have installed it, what washer did you use? Comments please.
  7. The valve I bought for the Aveo is the F106. Cost including shipping is SGD47.50. It fits like a glove on the existing drain port. It will fit all GMDAT cars. I mean all including Lanos and all the previous models. If you are a DIYer changing oil yourself, consider this "enhancement". If you like more convenience, you can get the F106-N with the nipple. The nipple allows you to connect a hose to drain the oil with minimal mess into a bottle. A little more expensive. Check it out at www.fumotovalve.com . If anyone is interested, I suggest a group buy from the website. Charge under one person's credit card and have them all delivered to one address. It takes only 5days to deliver!
