  1. The Spanish cousin of the VW Golf is set to adopt a version of the dashboard first seen on the Cupra Formentor concept, featuring a tablet-like touchscreen display on top of the central air vents and a raised center console. The infotainment system will be all-new and will support over-the-air updates. The test car was fitted with an automatic transmission and featured a stubby gear selector between the seats, reminding us of the lever Porsche is using on the new 911. VW Group’s digital instrument cluster will also be present, at least on the more well-equipped models of the range. The next-generation Seat Leon rides on the updated MQB architecture and will become available with new 48-volt mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, in addition to more efficient versions of the existing TSI and TDI engines. The three-door bodystyle will be ditched, leaving only the five-door hatch and wagon models in the range. The range-topping Cupra Leon is also rumored to adopt not one but two powertrain options; the first one will be an all-new plug-in hybrid with 242hp (245PS) and an EV range of up to 31 miles (50km), while the second one will use the turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine with around 300hp.
  2. As seen on ROAD.sg, a red Volkswagen Scirocco has rear ended a SEAT Leon Cupra at the junction of the KJE exit to Woodland Road. The accident happened a while ago on 3rd of April but only started getting viral recently as the Scirocco owner shared the video on a private whatsapp group chat (We have no idea why he/she would do this). Thankfully, this is no serious accident despite the camera car obviously speeding along the KJE exit before filtering into Woodlands road. Sharp viewers of the video would also notice from the car's exhaust note that the accelerator was being pressed to overtake the bus at the 11-second mark. But then again, it did look like the Scirocco could stop in time but chose to not come to a complete stop while checking for vehicles on Woodlands road... Check out the video below. Is this a case of bad luck and/or bad judgement from Volkswagen driver who actually could stop in time or a case of speeding and reckless driving from both drivers? Let us know what you think in the comments below. vid.mp4
  3. In 2013 at the age of 55, Leon Margaret was ready to retire. But then she was asked to extend her service. Today, the 1st Warrant Officer (1WO) is 61-years-old and is the oldest female commander in Singapore’s Basic Military Training Centre (BMTC). Just as fit as other soldiers In an interview with Pioneer magazine, Leon talked about her role as a Platoon Commander in BMTC’s School 1, Charlie Company. Despite her age, she achieves a gold award for her Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) every year. Leon regularly leads route marches with a 20 kilogram field pack strapped to her back. She also shows her soldiers how to dig trenches, and sleeps in the jungle during field camp. Regular workout routine Her secret to keeping fit? On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, she has morning training sessions. She also joins her recruits during their morning runs. On weekends, she exercises with her husband. It’s all about hard work and discipline, which is the example she sets for her recruits. She is strict but caring Leon is known to be strict with her soldiers as she pushes them to pass the various tests during training. If any of her recruits are struggling to complete an exercise, she will simply tell them: “Ancient lady can do, young boys cannot do?” But despite her strict nature, Leon cares a lot for her recruits too. Gives advice to her soldiers Leon makes it a point to write back to her recruits in their weekly reflections. She recalled one particular case where a recruit confided in her about struggling to communicate with his mother. She advised him to bring his mother out for brunch one day to have a talk with her. The recruit wrote back to Leon to thank her as he took her advice and it turned out successful. Her history in the army According to the Pioneer article, Leon joined the military in 1976 as a clerk, but 10 years later, she was given the opportunity to be a combat trainer, before moving on to serve as a combatant. After that, she served as an Officer Cadet School instructor, Signal specialist and Company Sergeant Major in the 8th Singapore Armoured Brigade. She was even deployed for a humanitarian mission in East Timor. Right before she joined BMTC, Leon held the record of the longest-serving woman in the Signal formation.

  5. Hi guys, Felt the need to have this documented on the forum because its so hard to find information on the Cupra R parts list. Plus no one on the Internet seems to share the fitting experience even though its possible to find photos of Toledos overseas that have been fitted with the Cupra R bumper and sideskirts. So this is a first step. Here's the complete parts list and price (in Euro) without shipping. The next step for this thread hopefully will be to come with all the fitting photos step by step. 6. The Seat Leon has won the prestigious Car of the Year 2013 prize at the annual Auto Express New Car Awards in London earlier this week. The award was handed over to new Seat Chairman Jurgen Stackmann during a ceremony in London by Auto Express Editor-in-Chief Steve Fowler. The Leon also scooped up the Best Compact Family Car award. Explaining why the Leon was crowned the year's best car by the U.K.'s best selling motoring weekly, Steve Fowler said, "We love its style, the way it drives, the quality and the kit. Best of all, you get all that at a bargain price, while running costs will be ultra low, too. The SEAT Leon has beaten some superb cars to be crowned Car of the Year - it's that good," Jurgen Stackmann thanked the Auto Express jury for choosing the Leon as Car of the Year. "The new Leon is the best vehicle in Seat's history. It is a perfect embodiment of Seat's transformation and shows the direction we will be taking over the next few years. We are very pleased with the reception customers have given the Leon," said the Seat Chairman. The new Seat Leon was unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show and hit U.K. showrooms in March 2013. 12. Leon Sinks Its Teeth Into Hatchback Rivals east your eyes on the next SEAT Leon. The Spanish car maker used all the razzmatazz of the Geneva Motor Show to unveil its new small family hatchback, and freely admitted that this 'prototipo' is virtually the real deal. It's the closest model yet in appearance to the Salsa concept, which wowed crowds at the same event five years ago. Insiders have told us the final version of the new Leon will be unveiled at September's Frankfurt show. Based on VW's Golf chassis, the newcomer has been developed to have a sportier character. That means it gets a low roofline and a swooping nose, while its wide arches, hidden rear door handles and small glass areas give it a coup
  13. What do you guys think? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the shape of things to come from SEAT, and it's in the form of what the firm is calling a Multi Sport Vehicle. The car seen here is the Altea, and while it's technically a concept, bosses have confirmed it will go into production and keep the name. It will be sold alongside the Leon, offering customers a more practical and versatile alternative. What's more, insiders say the large grille housing the SEAT badge, coupled with the sleek shape of the headlamps, will feature on all new models. The Altea is based on the Salsa concept, driven in issue 721, although that car's non-opening bonnet and two-piece tailgate have disappeared. In profile, the smooth lines and low stance of the Altea give it a performance-oriented look, while still offering mini-MPV-like space and practicality. Styling differences on the production car - due to be built on the new VW Golf platform and set to arrive in 2004 - will be minimal. The two individual back chairs are likely to be scrapped, replaced by a more conventional bench seat, while the large 19-inch alloys will be on the options list. But the windscreen wipers which tuck up vertically against the A-pillar when not in use, and rear door handles hidden in the quarterlight, should remain. Inside, the show car cabin's mix of aluminium and leather will be toned down. Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre 150bhp FSI petrol unit - the first time a SEAT has been powered by one of VW's FSI engines. It will definitely make production. Power is fed to the front wheels via a six-speed auto gearbox with sequential Tiptronic controls.
