Hi, I got into an accident last Thursday. As this was my first accident, I'm not sure what to do. Would appreciate some advise here.. What happened on Thursday was this delivery lorry in front of me suddenly stopped and reversed into my bumper, causing damage to my bumper and bonnet. I made a report already (albeit late). I went to this random workshop near my house and the cost of repair is $350. That bugger admitted that he was at fault and offered to pay $200 to settle privately, but the payment never came. He has stopped picking up my calls so I think it's safe to assume that he no longer wants to settle it privately. Making a claim against my own insurance is not worth it because my excess is $600. Now I have 2 options - either to bear the cost of repair myself or file a third-party claim against him. The workshop I went to advised the latter. He said if I decide to pursue a TP claim, I'll only have to pay $350 if I lose and if I win, I don't have to pay a single cent. The latter option sounds more appealing to me because I wish to teach that bugger a lesson, but my only concern is do I have to bear the inflated cost of repair if I lose my claim? Also, how troublesome would the TP claim become? I understand I need to appear in court and be interviewed by the lawyers, but are there other commitments? It's also rumoured that making a TP claim would increase your premium - is this true? Is there a difference in making a TP claim with a workshop authorised by NTUC Income (my insurer) and one that is not? Hope those with experience can share! Thanks.

Haiz... My room aircon suddenly died... Turn on, no cold air., after few minutes then it stop n light start blinking non stop. It's a Mitsubishi starmex 8 yrs old system 3.... Both others two units got no problem. Any bro can recommend an aircon serviceman to me? Hope can response within one day... Thanks

Guys need your opinion. I'm driving a 5yrs old Jap car with 200k mileage. The car was fine until lately for the past 3 mths it will overheat when travel long distance. I notice my temp gauge will gradually rise from 90C to high of 110C. On few occasion it trigger the overheating indicator on my dashboard. I have checked the coolant level many times however it remain at the same level so I guess there's no leakage on the radiator. Both the aircon and radiator fan is running fine. Sometimes i could smell coolant when i on the AC. jThe oil temp remains at normal level bet 100 to 110C. What could be wrong here. Could it be the thermostat or head gasket or blocked radiator? Any shop u guys can recommend to fix this.

His car broke down yesterday in Tangkak and he and wifey went down Singapore by bus and left the car there at a workshop which do not have the spare parts. Appreciate any help fast! Thank you! -
Hi Guys, I suddenly encountered serviously clutch problem this morning, I started my 6.5 years old Hyundai Accent 1.5M, stepped clutch tried to engage 1st gear, unfortunately even if I had pressed clutch to floor, still couldn't shift in any gear, except gear crashing sound from gear box, now I even couldn't move car to garage Kindly advice what it is the problem, any recommend shop is good for repairing this problem? thanks a lot

Dear bros. Your advice is greatly appreciated. The story goes like this ... I have a colleague whose wife was involved in an accident almost a year ago. Back then, both parties decided to settle the damages on their own since it was a side collision. Since then, my colleague's wife has changed insurance company. She was with AIG previously but is now with another insurance company. Fast forward to present day and she was recently served with a lawyer's letter demanding some $6,000 in compensation. My colleague told me that they spent approximately $300 in repairs so he is bewildered to receive a $6,000 claim. His wife has tried contacting AIG about the matter but AIG's response was to ask her to settle the matter herself since she is no longer insured with AIG. Any advice on the next best possible course of action to take? I understand from him that he is now seeking a lawyer's advice but he would like any other opinions any one can offer on this. Thanks for taking the time to read ... and I will greatly appreciate all constructive advice.

The ad was a simple one: "donate one ice cream cup size of ur sperms for experiment - SGD150". Very little information was included in the ad's description, as the poster only provided a mobile phone number and three simple sentences "for research. please indicate race. just 1 ice cream cup with sperms." Communication between buyer and seller was also stated as limited to SMS messages only. Photo: Lianhe Wanbao Originally posted on the online classified ads website Criagslist, the advert made its way to a local online forum when a forum member spotted it and posted the link. The forum thread has since received many replies, and many Netizens believe that the man who posted the ad was up to no good. Some Netizens have even identified several suspicious points about that ad that might suggest the poster was not a professional conducting research with the semen purchased. According to Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao, various forum members have commented that an ice cream cup sized quantity of semen is not a small amount, and is much more than what is required for research. Other Netizens have also pointed out that the broken English and lack of details in the original ad also hinted at the fact that the man who posted it was not a researcher of any kind. They also pointed out that the word "semen" should be used instead of "sperms". A large number of Netizens expressed that they felt the man is likely to use the semen purchased for illegal dealings. A Wanbao reporter tried contacting the man requesting for more information about his offer and wanted to know if he was a researcher. The SMS reply received 3 hours later read: "Student. Cash money. 1 cup small one like ice cream" The man did not reply to further questions when the reporter sent another text message asking to know what will be semen be used for. Further attempts at trying to contact him about the offer were also not returned. According to Wanbao, those who donate their semen to the local sperm bank will not be paid, and will only receive reimbursement for transport.

Hi fellas..approx 1720hrs..i was involved in an accident on PIE(Jurong). The other party banged me from behind..so i have some questions.. 1) I know i need to report to my insurance within 24hr. But now sat, insurance coy close..how should i report it? on Monday? 2) I popped by 2 workshops just now. Both quoted me around 1k before factoring in the cost of replacement car. Do i need to go to the authorised workshop of my vehicle for repairs? 3) The other party prefer to settle privately. I have gotten his Name, NRIC and hp number. Took some pictures too. But 1 mistake is i didn't get him to sign a statement saying that it's his fault. If he decided to fly aeroplane, can i claim his insurance? Btw, he says his insurance is under HSBC. HSBC got do insurance meh?

as i rushing to work just now and i forgot to whine up my passenger's window. so there's a great downpour in the middle of my work. so when i collected my car and i notice my passenger's seat is soak (fabric seat), carpet etc.. is there any ways to soak up the water from the seat? luckily nothing is lost.. So careless

my friend has been found suspicious of taking 5 pens (corporate gifts) when the company realised there were 5 pens short before delivery to customer was made. It was just 5 pens with laser pointer and the company started a big hooha to investigate.. They went through all the videos from camera for the few days.. called in all the ones caught on video.. First round of questioning over.. then came another second round.. They called the second round "Disciplinary Inquiry". When asked what does that mean, as there were no disciplinary violations on the side of my friend. They said they 'highly suspect' he and 2 others took the pens. During second round they got in another manager supposedly to be neutral party, but instead he keep wanting to nail my friend as the highly suspected one as he was backfacing the camera too long at the area of where the pens were. When asked why not let police be involved, they said they will report to police. At least police will just say 'helping with the investigation' rather than 'you are highly suspected of taking' I have a few questions I hope bros/sis here can help.. 1. Up till now, is my friend considered being accused of taking the pens? 2. Can the company issue a letter and ask him to leave because they suspect him of taking? 3. Can he report to the police about the missing pens and let police investigate? 4. Can he demand for an apology after the investgation proved his innocence? 5. Can he take legal actions against the company, for suspecting/accusing? Thanks for all the advice and views in advance..

Just in case u know of anyone who wants a pup ? :-) Below is copied from his mail... 6 black lab (mix) puppies were rescued out of the middle of the road on Saturday. PLEASE help me find them homes - otherwise, it's Animal Control - which means they only have 5 days. We've bathed them, sprayed them for fleas and wormed them....but we can't keep them. They are currently in a kennel in my basement since I don't have a fence. I've lost count of the number of rescue groups that I've contacted, only to be turned down due to no room. Just now when I started my car at about 3am, it suddenly died half-way out in the carpark (I think because I was doing something and didn't clutch in, hence car stalled). I kept trying to crank it but it wouldnt start, so lan lan had to push it to the disabled lot. I checked the battery and the reading still said "OK", so what could be the problem? Really appreciate if anyone can advise me, as I will be calling a mech in the morning, just don't want to kena chop. Also would it help if I just got someone to help me jump-start the car? to all bros,i have a problem i cant solve,pls help me if you can.thanks. when the a/c is on,when i release the accerator the rpm will drop to ard 500 plus sometimes the engine will cut off aso.but when the a/c is not on,this problem does not happen.i have change the a/c compressor to a recon one but it does not help. pls advice..i am driving eg9.thanks
