  1. Hi, Does any of you know where to buy the batteries for ride-on toys? it is those 5V 5mAH type... Many thanks.
  2. A documentary video from CNA Insider showing us about the explosive facts of overcharging a bargain-price lithium-ion battery. This applies to mobile phone and other batteries that are lithium-ion. But PMD' owners, please take note. You guys have higher risk involved. Due to the sheer size of the batteries. So you must be wondering, how dangerous it can be right? CNA Insider has gotten a professor from NUS, Dr Palani Balaya to demonstrate how overcharging lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous. So here's a lithium-ion cell This cell should take 3 volts to charge. Let's ramp it up to 5 volts! ⚡️ Okay. Something is growing. . . For those who are watching the video, fret not. No need to move back from your screen. Do you notice the smoke? More smoke. And it goes. . . Kabooz!!!! Oh my goodness!@#$%!@#$ So imagine this is multiplied to the size of a scooter. To avoid all these mishaps, please look out for battery certification. For the full video, please watch from here. 3. Can anyone advise if it is possible to recycle regular alkaline/heavy duty batteries? I have read that rechargeable batteries are recyclable, but found nothing about regular single use batteries. Personal belief that we are using a lot, and perhaps we can do more to re-use, re-purpose and recycle stuff. Thanks!
  4. Varta batteries are not good now, just 14 months, dead, alternator is charging well, not worth to pay extra for "German'' batteries....
  5. Has anyone tried AGM batteries before? Any feedback? Seems not many available in the market currently: Odyssey, maybe Bosch, maybe Varta... Any more choices? Thanks in advance.
  6. Hello! I'm trying to get some RC batteries for a small project. It shd be 12.5~14.4V, 2000~4000mAH, able to withstand fast recharge / discharge and has long lifespan. Preferably c/w warranty for manufacturing defects. Can anyone here intro me a good place (shop) / website to get them at reasonable (good) prices?

  10. hi guys, I'm looking to buy a couple of industrial 12V AGM batteries. I want the biggest baddest battery out there. Importing batteries from the US is super expensive, so if anyone is in this particular industry ( maybe do forklift batteries etc etc), do let me know where i can buy this from. I'm looking at this for my sound system :) If possible, 200Ah per batt would be best :) thanks in advance Cheers!
  11. Was running on my Amaron battery since last August and recently find that the indicator is no longer green. Think it is almost time for a replacement. Is maintainance free battery normal to be due for replacement after 16 month of use? This is my first maintainance-free battery so I have nothing to compare with. So far, I have not experience any difficulties when starting. But I am worried that I might be unable to start when I needed to use the car urgently. Would like to know what are the good brands of car batteries in the market. I actually don't mind maintainance free or not. Thanks.
  12. Hey bros can recommend a shop for replacing my battery? Im only looking at Varta
  13. Hi, My car battery is dying, can anyone tell me where can I get Hoppecke battery at a cheap price? Regards
  14. Hi all, Hybrid cars have 2 types of batteries. Lead Acid 12V battery is used for 12V systems in the car. When will it need to be replaced?
  15. I came back from Bangkok with my kids. The stay at Empire Place was good but what let me down was my batteries. I was using Energizer lithiums to power my P&S. They were in there since Oct last year when I visited Melbourne. They ran out of juice on the 2nd day in Bangkok. They are great. Long life but still they ran out. So I bought the usual e2 Energizers and they didn't even last a day of heavy shooting. I decided to get rechargeables. I liked the idea of a ready-to-use rechargeable that didn't lose its power so was looking at the Eneloops. Then the GP Recyko+ also caught my eye for beaing more affordable. The Eneloop family pack was 79.90 with 4X AA and 4X AAA with 2X C adaptors and 2X D adaptors. Recyko+ is going for 65.30 with 4X AA and 4X AAA. Not a package but you just buy the batteries after the getting the charger with 2X AA and 2X AAA. I went back to research. This website says it all. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=223842 I got the Recyko+ batteries and charger. I know the MAHAs are great but I don't need them. If you read further into the thread, the best rechargeables are the Rayovac 1600mAh ones. Someone has been using them since 2001!
  16. Anyone interested or haf any recommendation to buy, pls pm me... thanks
  17. Hi, bros Is there anyway to estimate or see the symptoms of maintenance-free batteries ? Or do you have a spare in your boot standby ? Cheers !

  19. I wanted to change batteries for my wife's car, and decided on AA. I was shocked out of my skin when I was quoted $153 for a 45mAH Amron maintenance free battery. Has prices soared? 4 yrs ago, I got it for $90. Any recommendation of "trustworthy" battery shop in the West region?
  20. Car alarm started acting weird and cranking was taking much longer than usual, had the stock 45Ah battery checked this afternoon and was told its dying, attached is the test result. Decided to purchase a new battery as I did not want to be stranded by a dead battery. The options given to me were: 1) Bosch Silver 62Ah, made in Germany, 1yr warranty @ $160 2) Amaron GO 60Ah, made in India, 6mths warranty @ $130 Was at the prices but mech told me prices are increasing due to lead shortage; remembered reading such an article in ST as well. Lunch break was almost over and I decided on the Bosch, hope it will last at least 2 years. Stock battery died after 17 mths, last 55Ah MF Panasonic in the previous car only cost $60.
  21. Hi All, Appreciate feedback from those who've used Maha batteries as well as their charger. Are they really worth the $$$? The charger I'm looking at is the C9000 (can't remember the whole code), while the batts is both Imedion (2100) & PowerEX (2700). Also, I've already ordered some AA adaptors to use them as C or D sized batts. What are your views/feedback. Thanks
  22. Morning all, Wondering if anyone has changed new car batteries recently and could kindly provide an indicative price. Mine is giving signs of dying and am tinking of getting Amaron. Appreciate if any kind souls can provide good lobang or maybe of any stockist who has stock of batteries before price hike. Gracias...
