  2. As above. Which is better for removing stains on the paintwork caused by a) bird poo b) plant/tree sap c) fruit sap (those small berry kind that falls on the roof and get squashed) d) minor scratches? I read through almost all the threads on swirl marks and scratches removal. Most recommend 3M, Meguire Swirl and Scratch remover. Turtlewax Swirl and Scratch Remover doesn't seem to be popular. Any other DIY options? Thank you.
  3. which one do you think is more value for money?

  6. Can the bros with experience tell me the difference between buying a car from an authorised dealer versus parallel importer? Aside from the price difference is there anything to be aware of? Thanks.
  7. Anyone can enlighten me how long will it take from new car registration at LTA to owner taking delivery and what are the procedures/step? what are the things to be done 1st prior to registration? I'm asking cos according to my SE, car already in port and awaiting from superior to approve before he will proceed with the registration. I've asked him question like coe bidding, lta inspection and putting up of additional accessories but the answer is "sorry, have to wait boss instruction 1st". Rather irritated by his answer but guess he's playing it safe and dun wan to commit into anything yet in case something screw up and i no choice but to start banging table liao hehehe.. As for coe, its either they will die die bid 1 for me on the next round or just throw in the cat E, of which i dun really bothered much. But he did promised me on black & white that car will be delivered latest by 26/03/07. So i'm wandering how long it'll take to deliver after registration. Still not confident if they can really do it by the stated date. Will appreciate any info/feedback by those new car buyer who have got their ride. Btw, mine is from PI, quite a reputable one I should say. Thanks.

  10. My thread in Road Trips was quite ignored, and poll doesn't really tell me a whole lot.. Anyway, my friend and I are driving my car up to thailand. it's part driving adventure, and part beach getaway. We may intend to scuba dive too between koh samui and krabi, which will be better? krabi is somewhat nearer but dun get to take the car ferry which would be quite an interesting experience. of course, going to krabi means saving on car ferry and petrol as well which is the nicer destination? i'm more for natural beauty than other things.
  11. Just back from a trip to viet/china. I can say is Vietnamese drivers give way to each other. Though they use the horn everytime, none of them loses their patience. Even though there are so many bikes, i am surprised the accident rate there is low i heard even though they break traffic rules like beat red light etc. Cars coming usually give way to them. Singapore drivers? Horn them, they point u middle finger. You wanna filter in, they accelerate and speed up instead, making u stuck behind.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said 12 of the injured were sent to Alexandra Hospital while the remaining four were sent to the National University Hospital. The accident happened just before 9pm near the Jurong Town Hall exit in the direction of the city. According to a Channel NewsAsia viewer, the lorry had overturned. The viewer added that he saw casualties on the road divider. Source: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/16-people-injured-after/849962.html

  19. don't want to sound xenophobic (again) but somehow i feel there's a link between the car population and government's open-door policy between 2006 and 2011 perhaps the authority should present some stats showing how many PRs and foreigners own cars in Singapore it will not really be fair to us with shrinking COEs qty and its soaring prices
  20. The total number of accidents involving cyclists has gone down by 17 per cent between 2008 and last year. But every fatality is still one too many, said Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, as he revealed these numbers in response to MPs' questions. With this in mind, the Transport Ministry is undertaking a number of initiatives to make it safer for cyclists, he said. New dedicated cycling paths are being built in seven neighbourhoods to separate cyclists from motorists and pedestrians, and the ministry is looking to link these intra-town cycling paths so that cyclists can commute between towns. To boost education in cycling safety, the Land Transport Authority will make new "Intra-Town Cycling" handbook available soon. It lists good cycling etiquette and safety tips for cycling. The Traffic Police and Home Affairs Ministry are also studying measures to inculcate a safe road-sharing mindset among motorists and cyclists, and are reviewing cycling penalties to ensure that they reflect the severity of the offences.
