  1. This bloody bird: Asian Glossy Starling was found and keep loitering on my rooftop. Then it comes in a pair, producing very sharp chirping sounds...... I'm ok and delighted, but when I noticed that it has become a daily business....... I realised that the birds had started hiding on my rooftop, nesting by itself. But worst, their shits were everywhere on the balcony. No matter how many times you clean and wash them, those bird shits are always there..... Worst! Seeds, twigs, and more seedings were everywhere as these birds brought them in......And these particles are dropped all over my house.............. no matter how many times we swept the floors. I cannot believe I am intruded, and my place is messed up with just these 2 bloody birds !!!! I tried to erect those colorful windmill, putting up a flag and even spray water to the rooftop, in desperate spurs to chase these birds away. Night & day, the bloody birds will insist and fly back...... very persistent ! They would even hide in some place and fly back the moment they saw you retiring into the rooms! I welcome if there's anyone out there whom have better, logical, feasible ideas to help me in removing these bloddy birds, please. And hopefully to prevent them from coming back !!! I once thought " Live & let Lived" but the messes arises just from these 2 bloody birds are indeed drivng you very very crazy! Please advice, thanks!

  4. Quite a sad tale of Nigel! https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/animalia/wp/2018/02/02/nigel-the-worlds-loneliest-bird-dies-next-to-the-concrete-decoy-he-loved/?utm_term=.fc93c6ac5a48 Nigel, a handsome gannet bird who lived on a desolate island off the coast of New Zealand, died suddenly this week. Wherever his soul has landed, the singles scene surely cannot be worse. The bird was lured to Mana Island five years ago by wildlife officials who, in hopes of establishing a gannet colony there, had placed concrete gannet decoys on cliffsides and broadcast the sound of the species’ calls. Nigel accepted the invitation, arriving in 2013 as the island’s first gannet in 40 years. But none of his brethren joined him. In the absence of a living love interest, Nigel became enamored with one of the 80 faux birds. He built her — it? — a nest. He groomed her “chilly, concrete feathers . . . year after year after year,” the Guardian reported. He died next to her in that unrequited love nest, the vibrant orange-yellow plumage of his head contrasting, as ever, with the weathered, lemony paint of hers. “Whether or not he was lonely, he certainly never got anything back, and that must have been [a] very strange experience,” conservation ranger Chris Bell, who also lives on the island, told the paper. “I think we all have a lot of empathy for him, because he had this fairly hopeless situation.” As he persisted in this futile courtship, Nigel accrued something of a fan base. Mana is a scientific reserve that, like other New Zealand islands, has been the focus of replanting and rodent eradication efforts. Friends of Mana Island, one of the groups that has planted trees and shrubs, said on Facebook that Nigel “won the hearts” of members and volunteers who “spent many hours over the years maintaining the concrete colony.” A photo of Nigel’s favorite spot on Mana Island, taken a few days after his death. The birds pictured are concrete gannet decoys. (New Zealand Department of Conservation) Another gannet spent some time on Mana last year. Unfortunately, it was a he, dubbed Norman. Perhaps the saddest twist to this tale is that three other gannets settled on Mana last month, after conservation officials tweaked the sound system used to attract them, according to the New Zealand website Stuff. This raised the possibility of breeding. But Nigel paid them no attention. “This just feels like the wrong ending to the story,” Bell told Stuff. “He died right at the beginning of something great.” But Nigel — whose nickname was “no mates” — will forever be remembered as the pioneer of the colony and credited with signaling to the new trio that Mana was suitable habitat, Bell said. A volunteer paints a gannet decoy on Mana , a small island off the southwest coast of New Zealand’s north island. (New Zealand Department of Conservation) On Thursday, Friends of Mana Island posted an original poem dedicated to the lonely castaway: To Nigel You stayed awhile on Mana Island, Attracted by your concrete mates You built a nest, you did your best But only Norman dropped on by. We weeded, we painted, we sprayed guano around. We hoped you’d find the real thing. Three newbies arrived, a Christmas surprise, But suddenly you are gone. RIP ‘no mates’ Nigel

  6. Just need some to import those birds here. Tell them there are a lot of traffic cameras here ..... Yahoo news: Birds Keep Building Nest In Front Of Traffic Cam A group of Ospreys, large fish-eating birds of prey, have opted to build their nest in front of a traffic camera on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and no matter how many times officials take the nest down, the Ospreys just build a new one. All in all, the nest has been removed three times and then rebuilt again by the Ospreys. Yup, these birds have definitely ruffled the MDTA’s feathers. link: https://sg.entertainment.yahoo.com/video/birds-keep-building-nest-front-131824545.html sorry, unable to downlaod the video from office computer ...

  8. Angry Birds and F1 racing probably does not come up even in the most "out of the box" associations. However, Heikki Kovalainen seems to have found a fix for the equation. Despite a promising start in F1 (driving for ING Renault in 2007 and McLaren Mercedes in 2008 and 2009), Kovalainen was then shuffled to Lotus Racing in 2010 and Team Lotus in 2011, marking a series of twists and turns to his career. With that, he has all rights to be "angry", fully deserving his new endorsement. Kovalainen had heads turning in the F1 paddock last Thursday as he revealed his all-red helmet for 2012 which he don at Sunday

  13. i just got a massive bird poo attack whilst parked at clementi central carpark. not the first time i kena. i do a bit of detailing here and there so my black car was relatively shinier than the cars around me. and they didn't get a single slodge of bird crap. cursed and swore but what to do? LL come home and wash. 'nice' way to spend a sunday night. the dust has just settled and i'm just wondering. is there some truth that birds target more reflective surfaces? perhaps it's an instinct to poo into water bodies? what do you fellas think?
  14. Hi all detailing gurus, just came back from an overseas trip, and my car was left in the open air carpark for 4 days. Upon returning, saw that there was some dried birds' poo on the bonnet... Used water to remove them, and to my dismay, found that the paint was damaged!! There's a mark on the paint, surface of the paint has sort of pop up, when I run my fingers across it, can feel some irregularities... Have tried using AG SRP, and also ScratchX on them, but aside from making the marks shinier, they does not do anything much... Can anyone here give me some suggestions as to how to remove the marks and make the surface smooth again? Please help! Thanks!!
  15. Recently part my car in an open air car park shaded by many trees ... overnight. Next day, lots of stain on the roof of the car cause by some fruit or bird vomit or something like that. Try removing it with water and car shampoo with the plasticine ... not too helpful since the stain has eaten into the paintwork already .... How do you remove this stain ? How to you patch up the paintwork in cases like this ... if you look close, it seems to be some kind of bubbling effect.
