  2. The BMW 5GT was created with a number of combinations of car types in mind and that can be quite confusing to what sort of a segment this car fits in. But don't let that be the only reason why you should dislike it because its unique looks will help make it stand out in the sea of sedans that have become quite a boring sight. Everything else you see and feel, from the dashboard and the door panels to the lavish wood and leather-swathed seats, is a significant leap ahead in style, design and comfort. The boot volume has been increased to 500 litres, up from the previous 440 litres. Also generous is the ample head and legroom, which will make the three rear passengers very satisfied. Predictably, despite its heft of over two tonnes, the 5GT handles with remarkable alacrity. While the heft of the car can still be felt around bends, the 306 horses and 400Nm of twisting forces make it very forgivable. BMW's in-line gorgeous-sounding six-cylinders powering the 3.0-litre engine are also capable of delivering a strong and continuous wave of torque, allowing the car to pull away from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.1 seconds.
  3. BMW Asia together with the local distributors of the German marque - Performance Motors Limited (PML) - locally launched the all new 3 Series Gran Turismo (GT) last week. The car is a looker, it has typical BMW dimensions and trademark design characteristics that does not fall from the existing 3 Series family. BMW claims, the 3 Series GT combines the Sedan's dynamic, sporting genes with the practicality and versatility of the Touring body style. Personally, I think the car suffers from severe personality disorder(s). I have nothing against the car or the potential buyers or even the brand. With a guy who possesses mild traits of OCD, I am just confused with is the sole purpose of the 3 Series GT and not to mention I do understand the whole trend of 'hybrid' multitasking products. Let me put it this way, you belong to one of the affluent classes (or getting there), you have a successful job, a small family and a decent pay that allows you to buy the above mentioned car despite the stringent loan restrictions and rules. On a simple night out with friends or extended family members you display your new metallic and leather possession
  4. Yes. It is already in the works and the people from AutoExpress have rendered these images as to how the 4 series will look like in 2014 when it is to be released. Its meant to 'complement' the 3 series range and to battle for supremacy with the Audi A5 Sportback. Originally thought to be a 3 series variant called the GT (as with the 5 series GT), BMW have decided to go with the 4 series to pitch the new car between the 3 and 5, obviously. But they have used the 5 Series GT as a base, only miniaturized it to become a smaller GT which is rather ugly. Supposedly, consumers are meant to experience a more 'premium' feel in the 4 series compared to the 3 but in other words, it just shouts to the world that you can't afford a 5. Underneath, there will be a stretched version of BMW's new rear-wheel drive system to optimize the interior space and the bootlid can either be opened like a hatchback or a conventional boot. However, don't expect serious performance like the 3 series offers, this is meant to soothe your brow as your drive along in comfort. Suspension setups will not be as hard as the 3 series as the focus is mainly on the passengers' comfort. All Wheel Drive X versions will also be available while the powerplant will either be the latest latest four and six-cylinder petrol and diesel units, including the new 245bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol introduced on the X1.
