  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJk57ZfHvyM Looks like final fantasy but quite near reality Heard the ghost township may have some injection of life soon. But mostly collecting dust at this point in time. Maybe tempting to invest in a landed gated estate if I cash out on the HDB.
  3. Hi bro/sis, Company shifting to MBC (beside PSA, HP building).. So, now I'm busy looking around for nearby parking.. The cheapest I got is $203 per month for Comtech (behind MBC) and I feel that it's a RIP-OFF! Any recommendation for nearby parking? Even if park hourly is significant cheaper, I don't mind.
  4. It's just launched in Thailand. So ours should arrive soon too I suppose. http://paultan.org/2014/01/23/2014-honda-city-launched-in-thailand/ Looks to me that a high spec City is all the car that most people would need. 6 airbags, VSA, cruise control, rear a/c. Looks like no sunroof for Thai cars unlike India. It's amazing how 'low end' cars have so much kit these days (case in point:the Kia K3)! This level of equipment used to be only in much higher end cars.
  5. Till recent, the term "Car-Lite City" have been used more than once by our ministers and PM. Come share your views and opinions what will be government action/plans to achieve this "Car-Lite City" vision. 1. Reduce COE Quota (OCS) 2. Increase Tax (Road Tax, PARF, ARF) 3. Increase ERP Charges 4. ???
  6. Boring new mall. Whatever you can find in other older malls in JB, you can find here and less. Only 3 good things to note - (1) Location is 2nd nearest to City Square (2) Got cinema on top floor (3) Shops selling pirated DVDs
  7. Hi fellow bros and sis, This may sound alittle absurd to share my last sunday car wash experience but I felt that it will be nice to help some folks out there with my story. I was on the way to Vivo city for some weekend shopping with my wife, thereafter I realise the small ride of mine was pretty covered with dirt and grime. Thus,I decided to pop into one of the petrol stations along Pasir Panjang for a wash. Soon I was in the queue of several cars waiting to be washed, I realised it took longer than usual. Upon approaching I realised there were 5 persons washing the car infront of me but the entire process was alittle slow. I then came to senses these folks were from MINDS group,I must commend they are pretty co-ordinated and task oriented. Each was assigned a portion of the car to clean and they really do it with pride. Just do remember if you are within the vicinity and like to have a car wash and time is on your side, pop by to have them help wash your car.Tip them if you feel they have provided you a job well done but not out of sympathy. As all of us know, for some of the petrol kiosks we patronise don't even do a good job compare to these folks Their operating hours are as follows Weekdays : 10am -6pm Weekends : 10am -3pm Let them make your day with a smile Cheers
  8. Singapore becoming a 'garbage city', says ESM Goh Chok Tong Published on Jan 29, 2015 2:57 PM 1112 364 0 0 PRINT EMAIL The scene at Meadows by the Bay after 13,000 festival goers attended the Laneway music festival over the weekend. -- ST PHOTO: ALPHONSUS CHERN By Chew Hui Min SINGAPORE - On Wednesday, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong called out festival goers for not picking up their litter, and asked Singaporeans to make Singapore a clean city rather than a "cleaned" one. A day later, Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong has taken to Facebook to do the same. Comparing Tokyo and Singapore, he said that the Japanese capital had no rubbish bins in public places, but it is still litter free. "Without foreign workers, Singapore is likely to become a 'garbage city'," Mr Goh said in the post. Last Saturday, Meadows by the Bay was covered with discarded plastic ponchos, cups and other garbage after 13,000 festival goers attended the Laneway music festival there. 9. Am thinking of changing to a sedan from a crossover, due to itchy backside, excuses are unsatisfactory fc and poor acceleration, before my legs are too weak to squat getting into car. What's your preference and what you think of each choice ? Hope to get some pointers from fellow forumers. Thanks.

  11. Bros, I notice that there's usually no PUB aka City Gas which is piped into landed? That means that heaters, and some dryers etc can only be electric. I am used to gas for cooking, for heaters and I wonder if anyone has added City Gas to their homes? I did email them, and they quoted a few thousand just to get a connection: Is it worth the hassle? Thanks bros

  14. 2021 Honda City Hatchback Revealed As Regional Fit / Jazz Replacement https://www.motor1.com/news/456232/2021-honda-city-hatchback-reveal/ It's much bigger than the Fit without clashing with the Civic Hatchback. In an SUV-hungry market, it’s refreshing to see Honda hasn’t given up on regular cars. A year after introducing the City Sedan, its five-door counterpart is premiering today as a replacement in some markets for the Jazz / Fit supermini. It largely carries over the sedan’s styling, but adapted to the smaller footprint as the City Hatchback is 208 millimeters (8.2 inches) shorter. At 4345 mm (171.1 inches) long, the new small hatch is significantly larger than the Jazz without stepping on the Civic Hatchback’s toes. Even though it carries over the sedan’s wheelbase, Honda says the five-door model boasts greater legroom and so-called Ultra Seats with Utility, Long, Tall, and Refresh modes for extra convenience. In Thailand where the City Hatchback was unveiled today, Honda will sell the car with a turbocharged 1.0-liter gasoline engine. The three-pot is good for 120 horsepower and 173 Newton-meters (128 pound-feet) of torque channeled to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission. There’s a sporty-looking RS trim featured here in red, but it’s all show without any extra go. This City Hatchback RS range topper has more than just visual tweaks as it also comes generously equipped with paddle shifters, six airbags, cruise control, rear charging ports, and an armrest for passengers sitting in the back. Honda also installs an eight-speaker sound system, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment, and red illumination for the digital screen in the instrument cluster.
  15. Some people don't deserve to drive. Watch the video below and see whether you agree with our harsh comment or not. Posted by My Grandfather's Road, another traffic-shaming facebook page, is this video of a Honda City that almost came to a complete stop while on the first lane of the ECP. It is unclear how long ago this accident happened as the in-car camera video dates the incident on the 27th of Dec 2019 but the post was published today, 22nd of July 2020. We have no idea why the Honda driver attempted to slow down. Could it be that he or she realised that there is an exit and wanted to turn off at the last minute?
  16. would u live in a floating city? how much would u pay for 1? structurally it looks almost like our Supertrees/avatar trees in gardens by the bay. might entice our gahmen in that sense since tourism so impt to us in generating revenue. 10 years to build, EXPECTED to last 100 years. EXPECTED.... hmm...... Singapore could very well be building something that looks straight out of a futuristic Japanese anime series. What is the future of physical expansion in Singapore? One high-tech vision for Singapore is to create floating environmentally friendly cities made up of artificial islands in our immediate equatorial ocean. How big is a Green Float? It is going to be 1km in height. At that elevation, the temperature will be cooler at 26°C year-round. It will be constructed in the sea by utilising the buoyancy force of sea water. How expandable are Green Floats? Each Green Float cell is 1km to 3km, a walkable distance across and can grow outwards. How durable is a Green Float? Each Green Float would take about 10 years to construct. A Green Float will have a 1km-high tower and a base that is 3km in diameter. Once completed, it is expected to last 100 years. It is also built to float with the ocean current, so it doesn’t remain in one place and block out sunlight from penetrating the depths below. How much land does Singapore need? An additional 5,600 hectares of land are needed by 2030 to cater for a population of between 6.5 and 6.9 million. One hectare is 100 metres by 100 metres. The projection is based on Singapore’s Land Use Plan.Economic Development Board managing director Chng Kai Fong said Singapore is leaving no stone unturned to find solutions to physical expansion: “We’re using every possible surface and expanding our options.” Why is Singapore an ideal location? Singapore’s calm equatorial waters may be one of the best places in the world for them to construct a Green Float. How small is Singapore? Singapore is the 20th-smallest country in the world and the second smallest in Asia. Singapore has 724km² of surface area, less than half the size of London. What other options exist to expand land use in Singapore? The other options include building in the air, such as above roads, canals and existing structures. Currently, the city of London has projects that have seen additional housing units built on the roof of existing buildings that have been reinforced, potentially expanding the property market without touching existing land.

( Not an advertisement of affiliation post ) Well I have just the right tips for you to share when I did this recent very short trip to Penang. Using the Canon Hybrid Auto mode on the camera feature I am able to capture still photograph with video all at the same time at a snap of one single shutter press. What's great is the Hybrid Auto edits and stitch all the video together for you so you only need to upload the final finished hybrid video to your Facebook or YouTube without even going through the hassle of a video editor. Find out more on this cool feature and for those who didn't want to know about this Canon ( because you are a Nikon fan , hahaha ) do check out the scenery in Penang !

  23. Yahoo : Singapore is third best ‘global city’, others have ‘long way to go’, property expert says KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 — Malaysia’s capital and other cities behind Singapore in a “global city” ranking require significant improvement in a variety of areas before they are competitive against the city-state, world property consultancy firm Knight Frank said today. Its Asia-Pacific head researcher Nicholas Holt said aspiring competitors needed to be more transparent and encourage free market practices in order to keep up with Singapore, which ranked third in Knight Frank’s Global Cities 2016 report. “Singapore, it’s the transparency, it’s the ease of doing business, to set up a business, it comes in at the top in terms of setting up a business. “When you come into Malaysia, there’s a lot of red tape, uncertainty, thinking, ‘Is something going to happen?’ “So I think there’s quite a long way to go,” Holt said after launching Knight Frank’s Wealth 2016 report. He added that Malaysia needed to be more open to business ventures from abroad, a trait other major cities like Singapore, London and New York, have embodied and which enabled them to be successful. “So for KL to truly become an international and global city it would have to have lots of reform and it has to really capture demand from corporates and investors globally ahead from places like Singapore which would be a tough task,” Holt said. But Holt also noted that Kuala Lumpur was making various improvements to its infrastructure, such as the light rail transit (LRT) extension and the new mass rapid transit (MRT), which will get it closer to becoming a “global city”. Knight Frank later clarified that Holt was speaking on a global level and had not meant to comment specifically about Malaysia. The top two spots on Knight Frank’s Global Cities 2016 went to London and New York respectively. Hong Kong coming in fourth, followed by Dubai on fifth. Malaysia was not listed in the report which only ranks the top 10 “global cities” in the world. He added that Singapore also benefited when the former British colony returned to China as a special administrative region, creating an opening for the city-state to position itself as the preferred financial services centre in the region. "And then in 1997 Hong Kong went back to the Chinese; that was the opportunity for Singapore really to push their banking and finance and their wealth management centre outside of Hong Kong within Asia and now when people say 'Hong Kong or Singapore' they go with Singapore," he said. He added that instead of competing with Singapore, Malaysia could instead aim to complement the neighbouring country by focusing on other aspects like Islamic finance. According to the Knight Frank Global Cities website, the cities selected "explored the future of the built environment, and is intended to help investors, occupiers and city planners with their future business strategy."
