SINGAPORE - Seven months after he visited Singapore, popular video blogger Nas Daily is moving to the island. In an Instagram post on Wednesday (March 20), his girlfriend Alyne Tamir announced that she and the blogger, whose real name is Mr Nuseir Yassin, will be moving to the Republic in the future. Their stay could be "two months or two years", she said. In her post, she said: "Singapore is the hub of Asia, and arguably a major hub of the world." It is why Mr Yassin is moving his company to the Republic, she added. The Nas Daily Company is currently based in the United States. Mr Yassin, a 27-year-old Palestinian-Israeli, was initially more coy about the move on his own social media platforms. On Wednesday, he posted an Instagram story featuring an article which highlighted the most expensive cities in the world for expatriates to live in, according to a survey released by the Economist Intelligence Unit. In his Instagram story, he wrote: "Most expensive city: Singapore! (See you next month)". In response to queries from The Straits Times over e-mail, Mr Yassin confirmed that he was moving to Singapore in April. He added that no arrangements have been made for his move, but the timing is to ensure "enough time to get the legalities out of the way". In an Instagram post on Wednesday afternoon, about 10 hours after his girlfriend's post, he said there are many reasons why he chose Singapore to call home, but it was mainly due to his belief that "this part of Asia might be the new America" and the "world's best place... to live and to build up the Nas Daily Media Company". There is no fixed timeframe for his stay, he added. The Harvard graduate, who has more than 12 million followers on his Facebook channel, travelled the world for three years, documenting his experiences in one-minute videos.

used to drive a concerto (fuel injection), when i pump to the brim, it will give me 500over km. if i do some hard driving also got 400plus. Car was more than 15yrs old. i could do a century sprint in 10sec with a good launch in dry conditions. no fuel enhancer, just a good 100% synthetic oil and engine treatment. open pod stainless steel. straight through exhaust. spark enhancer. NOBODY believed me... (cars in the 90s had great improvments with juz an open pod and straight through exhaust, cant say the same for modern cars now) so i checked my car specs... oil tank was 50L... most model cars now are 40L? and my rims were 16inch 45s... but not sure if original was 14inch 65s... so maybe my tyres were to big hence the extra reading in my distance... hmmmm.. dont know leh... cause i had a friend who drove an EG 2-dr and he clocked 500km on his full tank too (note that i am NOT referring to highway figures) but he had 2 carbon seats, carbon doors, boot bonnet.. used 15inch 55s. hmmmmm........ is 500km really not possible on a full tank of petrol in petrol driven cars? i thought that the city n jazz DSI versions also were very furl efficent?

hi guys Market downturn. cost of living is going up. every dollar saved is a dollar earned. lol found a shop that sells a lot of stuff rather cheaply. everything is $1. even cheaper that the usual value dollar shop. Sedikit-sedikit lama-lama jadi bukit compared to NTUC or redmart really much cheaper. e.g coke per bottle is $1 vs $2.0 in RedMArt Tiger balm is $1 vs $3.50 in NTUC Digestive biscuit is $1 vs $2.95 in Red mart hopefully it will help some bros here. Address is in basement #B1-13 of JCube. good for those bros staying in the west. they also have another normal value dollar got more stuff. but not as worth as this one. cheers

Federal CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin said the high number of thefts was due to the demand not only for new but also old vehicles, which are cannibalised for their parts. A total of 57,462 vehicle thefts were reported in 2010 while the number was 55,041 as of September 2011, he said. He added: "There is a big demand for the stolen vehicles at construction sites in remote areas. Some are used in robberies and other criminal activities while certain models are exported overseas. "We believe that vehicles like Toyota Hilux are stolen to feed the huge demand for four-wheel drives in the Middle East. We think that rebel forces use them to mount guns."

After all, the Certificate of Entitlement (COE) in Singapore has now reached a new frenzied height at a 10 year high. A piece of non-transferable COE paper (alone!) will now cost you: Small-Medium Car: S$47,604 (RM114,250) Large Car: S$62,502 (RM150,004) Crazy COE Price in Singapore As a result of this paper chase, the prices of the following models ballooned to a fashion which led aspiring car owners to chase the dust: Toyota Altis: S$100,333 (RM240,800) Honda Civic (1.8l): S$123,000 (RM295,200) Hyundai Avante: S$98,000 (RM235,200) At such prices, you can get a landed property in Johor Bahru instead if you forgo the drive. For Malaysian Work Permit Holders (non-PRs) working in Singapore and yet to own a car, it is now mathematically sound to buy a car in Malaysia and simply pay the VEP on a daily basis instead. Let's use the example of David Si Pei Heng who works in Singapore and because he is a non-Singaporean PR, can drive a Malaysia-Registered Car into Singapore. David can either choose to: 1. Buy a Honda Civic in Singapore (Total Cost: S$123,000) 2. Buy a Honda Civic in Malaysia and pay the daily VEP fees (Total Cost: RM120,000 (S$50,000) + VEP fees for 10 years (S$25 * 22 working days * 12 *10 = S$66,000) = S$116,000) This means that if David choose option 2 - over a 10 year period, he will: 1. Save S$7,000 compared against option 1 in terms of car purchase. 2. Pay lower car insurance. 3. Save on interest from car loan 4. Im sure most if not many of us staying in HDB will encounter this before... Going up MSCP, in front is a souped up Japanese car.. (It could be a Integra, WRX ) With a big exhaust pipe, basically one can feel the vibrations caused by the "vroom, vroom" ... The worst thing is its lowered so go over hump have to do S curve, go up slope like tortoise.. This jams up like 5 or 6 cars behind going up to park too!!!.. If you are the driver of the teg or wrx, what will you do??

I am still confused since the day the banks implemented this scheme. if balance is less than $500, there will be a charge of $2. How do banks define avg daily balance? using nov 2009 as example, is it (30 days of flutuating daily balance / 30 days) = avg daily balance? Can give some example?
