  1. Latest "casualty" of the COVID-19 outbreak... THE GENEVA INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW IS CANCELLED! #GIMSSWISS 5-15 March 2020 The 90th edition of the GIMS, which was supposed to welcome the media from next Monday and the general public from 5 to 15 March 2020, will now finally not take place. This is an injonction decision of the Federal Council of 28 February 2020 that no events with more than 1,000 people are allowed to take place until 15 March 2020. The decision falls 3 days before the opening of the exhibition to the media. The organizers accept this decision: "We regret this situation, but the health of all participants is our and our exhibitors' top priority. This is a case of force majeure and a tremendous loss for the manufacturers who have invested massively in their presence in Geneva. However, we are convinced that they will understand this decision," said Maurice Turrettini, Chairman of the Foundation Board. We would like to warmly thank all those involved in the organisation of the 2020 edition of GIMS. A few days before the opening of the event, the construction of the stands was very nearly complete. A week ago, during the press conferences announcing the 2020 edition, there was nothing to suggest that such a measure was necessary. The situation changed with the appearance of the first confirmed coronavirus diseases in Switzerland and the injonction of the Federal Council on 28.02.2020. The event is cancelled due to this decision. In the meantime, the dismantling of the event will now have to be organised. The financial consequences for all those involved in the event are significant and will need to be assessed over the coming weeks. One thing is certain: tickets already purchased for the event will be refunded. The organisers will communicate about this as soon as possible, via their website. Palexpo, 28 February 2020

  3. For those who have yet to visit the exhibition in person or are maybe overseas and cannot make it down. http://www.nhb.gov.sg/eo/In%20Memoriam%20Lee%20Kuan%20Yew/ http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/memorial-exhibition-for/1866078.html SINGAPORE: A memorial exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore dedicated to the late founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew has drawn over 135,000 people since it started on March 25. In Memoriam: Lee Kuan Yew has seen its run extended twice due to popular demand, but the exhibition will close at the end of June. Those who have yet to visit, will be able to do so online. The National Museum has created a virtual interactive tour with a 360 degree view of the items and posters on display. Mr Daniel Tham, curator at the National Museum, said the virtual walk-through recreates the experience of actually being in the museum. "That includes the images that are on display, the caption and text panels and you also get to listen to audio speeches delivered by Mr Lee," he said. As a bonus, those who tour the exhibition online can look inside Mr Lee's famous red box briefcase which he used as to carry speeches, documents and readings. "We took many many still photos of a single spot, we put them together, then we developed it and packaged it," said Mr Alvin Neo, director from Zwaan, which produced the interactive virtual tour. The virtual exhibition is available on the National Museum's website. - CNA/ly
  4. A new exhibition at the National Museum, which is free for Singaporeans and Permanent residents. It houses more than 100 artefacts, many belonging to the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, from his Oxley Road home. The exhibition is called 'We Built A Nation" on the ground floor of the National Museum. This revolver is cool. And Mr Lee's will on his house to be demolished. They even had a Sten gun recovered during Konfrontasi. A suggested pledge, by S Rajaratnam. The final version is a bit different from his suggestion. In this first video, just a quick walkthrough to show you that the Exhibition is not very big, however, you could easily spend an hour or so going through the various exhibits. Am working on the other video which takes a closer look at some of the artefacts.
  5. Looks like SG kids can make great artists in the future. :) Taken from http://www.domainofexperts.com/2015/07/singapore-youth-festival-art-exhibition_13.html http://www.domainofexperts.com/2015/07/singapore-youth-festival-art-exhibition_29.html

  7. I like to eat meat. Recently, I found out that there are very strong 'vegan' organizations around the world, and one of them is called PETA. Recently they held a 'human body' exhibition, right out in the open on the streets of London, Trafalgar square. Check out the pictures that I got from their website. http://londonproperty123.blogspot.sg/2014/11/peta-people-for-ethical-treatment-of.html Can you imagine such an 'exhibition' in Singapore?
  8. The 2012 Thailand Motor Expo was held recently from 29th Nov 2012 to 10th December 2012. It is an event where the bike and car lovers and the related manufacturing companies come together to exhibit their products and technologies. If the 'hardware' does not interest the visitors, I am pretty sure the 'software' will. Read on to be convinced!
  9. Just recently, Ferrari announced it will honour the Ferrari cars that Sergio Pininfarina has designed. Sergio Pininfarina passed away in July 2012 and was responsible for the creation of many Ferrari models and among them were the Testarossa and the short wheel base 250GT Berlinetta. On the 26th of October, the Ferrari Museum officially launches the start of the Great Ferraris of Sergio Pininfarina exhibition. The exhibition focuses on the years which Sergio Pininfarina's designs were considered to be very important to Ferrari. Sergio Pininfarina designed many Ferraris but the company has decided to place only twenty-two of them on display in Maranello. Present at the opening ceremony were Luca di Montezemolo (Ferrari chairman), Paolo Pininfarina (president of Pininfarina and also Sergio's son), Pierro Ferrari (Enzo Ferrari's son) and Sergio's wife. The exhibition is divided into three halls; one for race cars, one for concept cars and one for production cars. In the race cars exhibition hall, visitors can take a closer look on the racing cars that Sergio Pininfarina has created such as the 250 LM which won the Le Mans race and also the Sigma Formula One prototype from the late 1960s. One of the unique cars displayed at the concept cars hall is Ferrari's first ever four door car which is the Ferrari Pinin Concept. Also displayed there is the 2.9 litre, 400bhp Ferrari P6 Concept which was produced in 1968. The production cars exhibition is divided into two separate categories. In the front-engines section visitors can view models such as the 1964 275 GTB4 and the Spider version of the Daytona. Cars like the Ferrari Testarossa grace the mid-engined section of the hall. The exhibition is open to the public seven days a week till 07th of January 2013 (closed on the 25th of December and the 01st of January) and tickets can be booked online at museoferrari.com. 10. The name Sergio Pininfarina is synonymous with excellent looking cars. For those who are not familiar with the name, Sergio Pininfarina was an automotive designer who has designed many cars and most of them were Ferraris. Some of the cars that he designed were the Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari Testarossa, Bentley Azure and the Alfa Romeo 164. Sadly, Sergio Pininfarina passed away this past July and to honour his creations done for Ferrari; the Italian automaker will hold an exhibition at its official museum in Maranello, Italy. The exhibition will be known as Le grandi Ferrari di Sergio Pininfarina (Sergio Pininfarina
  11. Science Centre is hosting Body Worlds currently and entry for just the exhibition is $20 for adults and $12 for children. Although the exhibits may be a little gruesome for some, I highly recommend it for educational value. My favourite exhibit was the one where they showed this person with only her blood vessels still intact. From far it looks like red furry fuzz but up close you can see how intricate blood vessels can be. Those who smoke or drink a lot should check out the lung and liver display to scare yourself straight. I also learnt that the male package are actually 3 pieces dangling seperately from each other. The first part where they show fetuses from 4-8 weeks is fascinating, "beautiful" and sad at the same time. There is also a display on hernia. This is the reason why you have to cough in front of the doc with your pants down. You can also find out why some famous artists painted such blurry pictures. Other than humans, there is also a big horse, 2 giraffes, 2 reindeers, a sotong and an octopus.

HDB had received overwhelming response to the plans for Punggol under the Remaking Our Heartland Exhibition in Sep 2007. 3 Over the last eight months, the plans for Punggol have been shaping up well. HDB will be sharing updates of the exciting progress with Punggol residents at the exhibition to be held this weekend. 4 Resident engagement will also be a critical aspect of Shaping My Punggol.
