TL:DR – A Singaporean-registered Altis and a Trans cab travel on the fast lane of the causeway, but only the Altis gets apprehended by the Malaysian police. There are no shortcuts in life. Likewise, in recent times, there have been no shortcuts on the causeway. If you’re sick and tired of waiting in the queue, you can always try your luck on the fast lane. You might get away with it, and you might not. Just like these two vehicles in the 43-second video below. What happened? A Trans Cab followed by a red Altis cuts into the car lane from the fast lane of the causeway. The Trans cab successfully merges into the queue, whereas the Altis did not have much luck as three officers eventually surrounded it. Unspoken rule I was very curious as to how the Taxi managed to evade capture. Some of my colleagues mentioned that public transport (buses and taxis) could travel on the fast lane. I even saw some comments that supported this claim. I tried to search online for material that could further support this hypothesis, but I found myself hitting dead ends. No official document from any authoritative body states that taxis are allowed to use the fast lane. So, I’m still stuck with my question of “HOW?” Maybe the comments section can enlighten me. TL;DR – A driver of a cam car (make and model unknown) took their grievances online to shame two Honda Civic Type-R drivers for dangerous driving. Unfortunately, things did not work out as planned. Netizens ended up flaming the driver of the cam car instead. A cam car driver was overtaken by not one but TWO Honda Civic Type-Rs along the CTE and decided to call out the two Type-R drivers for reckless and dangerous driving. In an unexpected twist, netizens started flaming the cam car driver instead. I don’t know how you feel about it, but it’s a great form of amusement to wash away those Monday blues, that’s for sure. Watch the 2min+ video here: An interesting takeaway At the 0.06 mark of the video, you can see the Gold Type-R entering the frame with its right signal on, attempting to cut into the cam car’s lane. But what’s interesting is that you can see cam car speed up to block the Type-R from doing so. Yet, cam car driver calls out the Type-R driver for dangerous driving? Hmmm. The second Type-R Agreeably, the second Type-R (silver) did drive rather dangerously. It squeezed into a tight pocket of space in front of the cam car and weaved through other cars to exit the CTE. Good morning everyone! Singapore may be small, but we are never short of exciting incidents. Let's take this battle between a Toyota Prius and a Toyota Dyna for example. Resembles a Beyblade* battle to be honest (minus the spinning). *Beyblade is a Japanese anime about spinning top toy battles If you watch the video, you'll notice that the Prius was not on the first lane initially because there were two large trucks obstructing traffic. The Prius obviously did not want to give way to the lorry and charged forward. A normal person would hit the brakes upon impact, but not this Prius. The lorry and the Prius continue scratching each other's paintwork for at least a good three to four seconds! What was the lorry doing though? Crazy driving by the Prius aside, the lorry, being a goods and commercial vehicle with a speed limit of 70km/hr should not be on the fast lane. So, what happens when it comes to insurance claims?
