  1. So many companies around the world are building flying cars. Do you think they will eventually become a mainstream mode of transport , in our life time ? Why yes and why not. If not, then what does it take to overcome inorder to come to fruition ? Discuss, thanks.
  2. It may look like a dune buggy with some propellers and a canvas to wrap itself up, but this thing actually flies. And it has a much more noble intent rather than to fly human beings around in a car. It is called the I-Tec Maverick and believe it or not, the car/plane has gotten a certification from the Federal Aviation Administration for a flying car. Steve Saint who runs I-Tec which says it stands for "indigenous people's technology and education center," started a Christian Missionary to help Third World countries in Central and South America solve their technological conundrums and he took 6 years to develop the thing. I think it looks more like a bat but looks don't really matter here because the amazing thing is that it really flies! By bolting a 170bhp 2.4 litre Subaru engine at the back of the canvas covered frame, it reaches 100km/h in less than 4 seconds and that is Ferrari fast... It takes just a 100 yards to take off and Saint says that this can help the Missionary pilots and the jungles tribes that he plans to help become more self sustainable without having to travel long distances and disrupt their way of life to get supplies in the more populated regions. The I-Tec Maverick is estimated to cost about US$80,000 and Saint is hoping that recreational pilots who purchase this engineering work of art to bring down the cost for the Third World countries. Noble idea with a fantastic result. Period. http://www.cnn.com/video/?/video/living/20....flying.car.cnn [visit this address to watch the video of the car in action]
