  3. We thought things like this only happens in the movies but as it turns out, there are people doing this in real life as well! As seen on a Facebook post by SG Road Vigilante, the owner of this red 7-seater BMW 216D Grand Tourer wrote in to the page claiming that another BMW 2 Series in a similar shade of red has been using their number plate, chalking up fines they were not responsible for. However, this red 2 Series is a 5-seater variant that is called the Active Tourer and it looks largely similar as you can see from the screenshots taken from BMW Singapore's website. Reproduced below is an extract from the rightful owner of the plate SGX821M that was in SGRV's post. Hi, I was notified that you posted a video back in July on a speeding car with my license plate #SGX821M. I would like to highlight that THAT is not my car. Someone is impersonating us using our license plate. I drive a 7 seater BMW 2 series while the car in the video was a 5 seater 2 series. We were issued fines that we are not responsible for. AND my husband literally drove past the idiot this morning bearing our license plate while we were dropping our kids off to school. We couldn’t give chase because we were on opposite sides of the road. I have lodged a police report and have notified the LTA. We are awaiting investigations. If you happen to see the car, please help update the police on its whereabouts. Check out the video of the imposter who was also featured on SGRV before.
  4. Saw the road show in vivo city, the frugality is amazing...what do you think? i think diesel is the way to go green!
  5. Grand Hyatt incident: Singapore Civil Defence Force and Singapore Police Force on the scene after smoke was seen billowing out of the hotel.
  6. So I got lucky and managed to win the grand prize for the recent Sonax workshop event held on Renault premises. The top prize was a weekend drive-away with the prize winning Grand Scenic. MCF organisers requested a thread on the weekend drive-away and I was happy to oblige. Just wondering if anyone has questions on this 7 seater model, I may be able to help answer some questions as I explore the ride this weekend. Current ride is a smallish Hyundai i30 wagon, so this is a different category for me, although I did come from a Mazda 5 not too long ago. A more complete review will be attempted, but first up some specs. Renault Grand Scenic Type - MPV 7 seater (midsize MPV) Engine - Diesel 1.5 litre Turbo dCI (Auto) ; Euro 6 BHP - 110; Torque - 260 NM Extras - full size glass roof (standard on Grand Scenic) Seats - full leather, one-touch foldable system via rear and front display panel Wheels - 195/55/20 with 20 inch rims Weight - 1.5 tons Length - 4.6 m; Height - 1.6 m 0 -100 km/h : 13.2 seconds Luggage space - 233/596 (3rd row folded)

Will only be here for a few days before moving to San Francisco but I will not be driving there as opposed to driving to the national parks in USA. 10. Hi, i just got my new car (very first) & thinking of installing 2-channel dashcam with parking mode so as to give me peace of mind. Wondering if anyone in this forum has Renault Grand Scenic (latest Gen4) with 2-channel dashcam installed & which authorized shop you had it installed. Im asking coz my SE told me Wearnes Automotive stopped installing rear camera due to leaking issue after installing.
  11. Anyone had a chance to check out this car yet? Wondering if it could be a good alternative to the BMW 216 GT. Branding-wise obviously not comparable, but it could be good value for money with sliding doors to boot.
  12. Jeep three-row Chinese SUV will be called Grand Commander https://www.autoblog.com/2018/01/16/jeep-large-suv-china-grand-commander/ China is still very much a Jeep country, and the boxy XJ generation Cherokee lived and prospered there far longer than it did in the United States — until 2014. There have also been China-built Grand Cherokees, but the biggest Chinese Jeep has been previewed in the form of the Yuntu concept seen at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. Now, leaked shots of the Yuntu's production version have emerged a couple weeks after the SUV was spotted testing still in camouflage, and it appears to wear the nameplate GrandCommander. While a name like Grand Wagoneer would have been a stronger memento of Jeeps gone by, at least it's not called Grand Compassor Grand Nitro. The official reveal of the Grand Commander is expected to be held at the Beijing Auto Show in April, where more information will be available. Car News China says the big, nearly 16-foot-long SUV is a seven-seater, and the engine is the same 2-liter turbo unit also seen in the freshly updated Wrangler. There will be two power levels, 234 hp and 265 hp. The Grand Commander will most likely remain China-only, where it will be priced at $38,000. That sees it competing withVolkswagen's large Teramont SUV, which starts at nearly $45,000.
  13. Didn't know that there were GP in the old Singapore.... "The main touring car support race to the Singapore Grand Prix in 1967 resulted in an outright win. Foley's 1300cc Cooper 'S' is seen here leading the factory Mazda R100 specially imported from Japan and driven by works driver Katayama."
  14. Not Sure if this has been posted. i think the guy was high on drug.
  15. any reviews to share?... http://www.grandlexisportdickson.com/index...97dfa3ca6ff55b9 all rooms got private swimming pool as standard... looks nice... pics always tell lies lol... wanna hear some FRs...
  16. Was toying with the idea of purchasing one 2nd hand. For Renault die hards, what are the common issues? Is servicing at Wearnes a bitch and cost an arm and a leg?
  17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ve-2FVAxcR0 In KL now and caught this advertisement on TV. Copy cat our night racing on streets... but their tarmac can make it? Besides tourism, They wanna build talents for race mechanics and racers wannabe. Its an ASPIRATION.... Hmmmmm what do u reckon? First race in Aug 2015. BEFORE SG Grand Prix.... http://gtcitygrandprix.com/
  18. Jeep has been the definitive name in the world of 4x4. Its offerings are most fondly remembered for their off-road prowess - think Wranger - and even the latest Grand Cherokee oozes character that is unmistakably Jeep. And it seems that Jeep has not forgotten its off-roader roots - even when making a luxury SUV. The Summit is the range-topping variant of the Grand Cherokee, which has recently undergone a facelift. And it is not hard to spot the aesthetic changes from first look. The result is very pleasing indeed - but not without the distinctive look that is instantly recognisable as a Jeep, of course. Not surprisingly, the latest Grand Cherokee has adopted LED daytime-running lamps, which helps it to stay modern among competitors. The shiny 20-inch rims, though, hints at its luxury motives. It is on the inside where most of the efforts in this facelift has gone to. Drivers receive a TFT screen, which can serve as a display for many of the 4x4's technological gadgetries, such as Adaptive Cruise Control (above). A total of five different ride height settings are also available. The lowest grants easier access and loading by lowering the vehicle by 40mm, and the tallest setting will allow up to 290mm of ground clearance. The permanent all-wheel drive system also has a low range setting for more serious off roading.
  19. I have been thinking of getting a big SUV / MPV due to changing family needs and not many seem to fall into my expectations in term of price / features. A Jeep Grand Cherokee seems to have the right balance - aside from it's poor FC and high road tax, which I'm okay with. There are many factors why I like this car, it's huge (almost like a Hummer H3), has loads of features, it's tough and has high ground clearance - ease of getting in and out. I am sure if I go for a test drive there will be more reasons to like the car. The most important factor is that going for this car I don't feel like it's a downgrade from my current ride (Audi A5) in term of equipment level. The car is a very important place for my family as we spend a lot of quality time together joy riding and going places, so I value comfort and fact that my wife and sons liked something tall and huge like a Hummer, but with a good creature comfort for all the passengers. My current ride is great for the driver, but not as great for passengers especially for long distance drives. What I'm looking for is whether there is any reason not to go for a Jeep, particularly this model, so that if I sign on the dotted line, I know exactly what I'm getting myself into.
  20. It is the annual Formula One race this weekend - for the sixth time. And if you're reading this, you would have known that the Singapore Grand Prix is the only night race in the entire race calendar. And that we will continue to have a taste of the high-octane event for the next five years (including the current). But with the race failing to keep up the passion for motorsports on our local grounds, how will things fare afterwards? The small nation has proven that it has the capacity to hold an event of such scale (and glamour). What's arguable lies in its ability to keep the passion running, and strong. Of course, being a small country has its disadvantages. For instance, we cannot simply rely on the locals to fill the seats, although that was never part of the equation. Hence, the need for more promotion on Rihanna and Justin Bieber rather than Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso. But by keeping the crowds entertained with different sort of actions (on the stage rather than neck-breaking, ear-piercing ones on the track), we do wonder if that is a good thing to do. Then again, what is the definition of a 'good' thing? All of us have different motives. The authorities want revenue and fame, the public - whatever that catches their attention, and motoring nuts - to keep the motorsports passion alive. We can go on and rant about the dying art, and how it wouldn't have made it if it went the orthodox way - pure, adrenaline-filled racing without the trackside 'distractions'. Let's, then, talk about the future. More night races to join the calender would diminish the edge we have over other races, which means we're running out of novelty. And less participation may just spell doom for the sports. Or maybe there isn't one here, for motorsports, to begin with.
  21. Hi guys, I am thinking of changin to this ride here. C4 Grand Picasso My main concerns are reliability, servicing costs and parts availability. Does any bro have experience with this ride or dealer and is this car ok to go ahead? Has been serviced with C&C all the while. Is there anything to look out for before I sign on the dotted line? I am considering this and a honda stream. thanks!
  22. Hi there, Have not test driven one yet but thought the performance specification and price are quite ok. Japanese MPV are just too common on the road. Anyone driving this car presently? Wanted to know the car interm of: a) Space, luxury and comfort (compare with Grandis, Odyssey, Estima equivalent) b) Ease of maintenance and general reliability(Made in US means lousy QA)? c) Can last the next 10 years? d) Fuel frugal to drive around . If you have other information, please feel free to let me know. Thank you very much. Regards,
  23. Anyone stayed in this hotel before? Any comment on cleanliness, accessibilty and carpark sercurity?
