  1. The roof and wing would be carbon fiber to save weight. Source: https://www.motor1.com/news/578238/toyota-grmn-supra-rumor-530-hp/ The rumor mill is grinding away again about the Toyota Supra getting a high-performance GRMN variant. Japan's Spyder7 claims the sporty model uses a variant of the BMW S58 engine from the M3 and M4 that allegedly produces 533 horsepower (397 kilowatts). The more powerful Supra would allegedly exclusively be available with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, according to Spyder7's rumor. The GRMN would be rear-wheel drive in standard form, but all-wheel drive might be an option. The GRMN Supra would reportedly gain a hood with a scoop to send cool air to the engine. There would also be a more aggressive front fascia. The roof and rear wing are allegedly carbon fiber. The meaner Supra might arrive as soon as early 2023, according to this rumor. At least in Japan, pricing would start at around 10 million yen ($80,812 at current exchange rates). It's worth noting that Spyder7 doesn't cite a specific source for where this info comes from. A translation of the story simply says that the details are "based on the latest information obtained." We have to take things with a grain of salt for now. Rumors about the GRMN have circulated for years. Most of them suggest the hotter model would use the BMW S58 powerplant. Although, the older reports say the mill would have 503 hp (375 kW) like in the Competition variants of the M3 and M4. Other reports about the Supra's future indicate that a variant with a six-speed manual is coming for the six-cylinder, too. The three-pedal layout might even be available as soon as the 2023 model. The evidence comes from screenshots that appear to possibly be from an internal communication showing the changes for the new model year. However, anyone could make images like this, so we can't put all of our faith into their accuracy. The screenshots indicated Toyota's official announcement of the six-speed Supra was coming on April 28. Production would start in Austria in July, and the vehicles would begin arriving in showrooms in October. At least in Japan, there would allegedly be a special Supra with the six-speed manual. The Matte White Edition would have an exclusive exterior color and tan leather for the interior upholstery. What! I hope this is real!
  2. source: https://www.motor1.com/news/486412/gr-corolla-followed-by-wagon/ And a look through the GR Yaris’ parts bin. It’s a little known fact that petrolheads secretly love a sports wagon. It’s akin to that one guilty pleasure Taylor Swift song – a.k.a. Shake It Off – that you’ll immediately skip if you’re in the car with other people, but jam at full volume on your own. As such, it looks like Toyota might be looking to release a spicy GRMN version of its Corolla Touring. Before we start, we’d be remiss not to mention that the Corolla Touring isn’t currently available in the states. However, that shouldn’t subtract from the vehicle's credentials or the fact that a sportier version could be on the way. For the uninitiated, the GRMN callsign translates to Gazoo Racing Meister of Nürburgring. While the GR signifies some of the Japanese automaker’s racing DNA has been injected into the automobile, we can only guess what updates the Corolla will get. According to Spyder7, the exterior will likely include a large-diameter matrix grille to provide optimal cooling performance. Along with the new front fascia, other mods could possibly include an under spoiler, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, and side skirts. While we’d wager the exterior alterations are mostly for aesthetics, things will likely be a bit different under the skin. Under the hood, it will likely sport the same turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-three-cylinder engine from the GR Yaris. And that’s a good thing, because with 257 horsepower (192 kilowatts) on tap, it’s the most powerful three-cylinder engine ever fitted to a production car. Following the same pattern, the new model will likely also receive the GR Yaris’ AWD system. While the Corolla Touring GRMN is expected to debut sometime around September of 2021, let’s wait and see what happens. Should the sporty wagon materialize, we’d wager that enthusiasts would bite your arm off to get behind the wheel.
  3. Gazoo Racing revealed its GRMN Mark X concept at the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon. Based on the Toyota Mark X, GRMN gave its handsome sedan a chunkier front bumper, a redesigned rear bumper with diffusers, revised side skirts and a rear lip spoiler. Completing the aggressive look is the new enhanced dual exhaust system, 19-inch aluminium wheels wearing Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tyres. Mechanically, this Mark X uses a 3.5-litre V6 that produces more than 320hp and 380Nm of torque and is linked to a six-speed manual transmission. Drive is sent to the rear wheels through a Torsen limited-slip differential. It is also said there are improvements made in the suspension and braking department. All these specifications sure point to a decent foundation for building a drift car. While the GRMN Mark X concept is not on sale yet, you could buy Toyota’s G sports Mark X which is available to buyers in Japan. Also aggressively styled, it has different bumpers and wheels as compared to the normal Mark X. We especially love the LED running headlights, new sports exhaust with quad exhaust and 19-inch wheels. The car has been also lowered 20mm with the help of a new sports suspension. The interior has also been spruced up with white gauges, black sports seats with red stitching and some carbon fibre trimmings. As with the regular Mark X, the car can only be had in a six-speed automatic transmission and is paired with either a 2.5-litre or 3.5-litre V6 which it shares with the Lexus GS saloon.
  4. [extract] The Toyota 86 is one of the most anticipated sports cars that came out from Japan in the past few years. But as soon as it was released, many complained about the lack of power and wanted more out of it. It seems that these clamouring have not gone unnoticed because Toyota will display a much more powerful 86 at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Toyota will bring two special versions of the Toyota 86 at this year
  5. At the 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon, Toyota Motor Corporation is displaying a total of 15 vehicles and one of them is the GRMN iQ Supercharger Concept. Toyota has surprised everyone there with the announcement of the production of the abovementioned concept car. The iQ Supercharger was first showcased at the same show in 2011. Toyota jointly developed the car with Gazoo Racing and will feature a force induced 1.3 litre engine. Toyota hopes to spark an interest among people who enjoy owning, driving and discussing automobiles developed through GAZOO Racing activities. A second generation of GRMN
