  1. TL;DR - A female Mercedes driver bangs into parked cam car while reversing. She came out of her car, looked for damages on the cam car and drove off after. Say cheese. Watch this 39-second clip of this Mercedes driver getting her face caught on tape after hitting the cam car. What happened? In the footage, the female Mercedes driver was reversing into a parking lot when she knocked into the cam car. She then came out of her car to see if there was any structural damage on the cam car. Of course, she deemed it as a no, since she drove off right after. But it was all too late as the cam car captured her face when she stepped out of the car. Online Chatter This female Mercedes driver decided that act blur live longer is the way to go. Takeaway Parking in Singapore can be challenging as we maneuver our vehicles into small and tight parking spaces. Even if we manage to park our vehicles without incident, there is always a risk of our parked vehicles getting damaged by other motorists. Should you be the culprit, you can leave a note with your contact details so that the car owner can liaise with you on the damages. On the flip side, if you are the victim, do contact your insurance provider and/or Motor Insurer Bureau (MIB) if it is a hit-and-run incident. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. TL;DR – The owner of a Honda Vezel desperately seeks witnesses or video evidence of a white BMW cutting into his lane and hitting his car, causing an accident in its wake. Unfortunately, the uploaded footage did not catch the BMW’s licence plate. I find it a little strange that the dash cam did not get the license plate. Watch this short 17-second video to see whether you find it strange as well What happened? Quoted straight from the SGRV Post Video got cut? I’m not sure whether it’s the impact of the BMW hitting the Vezel or some technical glitch. But the footage gets cut immediately after. Maybe there’s more to this story than meets the eye? Online Chatter Most comments skew towards the Vezel driver being a road hogger rather than the BMW’s hit-and-run offence. That’s loco! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  3. It is common basic knowledge that motorists are required to give way to pedestrians or cyclists at a pedestrian crossing. Furthermore, it is quite effortless for the motorist to stop, look left and right and check clear before proceeding. However, some drivers seem to have the neck for driving like an @ssho13. Just like this BMW driver: What Happened? The accident above occurred at a junction along Bukit Batok West Ave 5, involving a BMW 318 and a cyclist. The impatient BMW 318 driver 'chiongs' through a discretionary left turn despite a pedestrian and cyclist crossing the road. Within seconds, the BMW sent the cyclist flying in mid-air before crash landing head-first on the ground. Despite being aware of the collision, the BMW did not stop to render any assistance to the cyclist involved. Instead, the BMW driver floored the accelerator and left the accident scene immediately. To be honest, I am not surprised that the BMW driver has the neck for driving like an @ssho13. He is an @ssho13 for committing the hit and run. Here's wishing the cyclist involved a speedy recovery! Netizens' Comments It does not matter if the cyclist alighted and pushed his bicycle across the pedestrian crossing. As drivers, we must do our due diligence and check for traffic before proceeding. In other words, hopefully, cyclists will learn to keep a lookout and use the road in consideration of other road users. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 4. What is one similarity do drivers in Singapore have in common? They tend to stay clear of car-sharing vehicles due to the atrocious driving associated with these drivers. However, one particular driver decided to brave the storm and negotiate a turn with a Bluesg driver. Watch how it turned out: What Happened? A cam car driver on lane 2 negotiated a right turn together with a Bluesg driver travelling on lane 1. As both cars were about to complete the turn, the Bluesg driver collided with the cam car driver. Needless to say, the collision drew the golden standard of reaction from the cam car driver - a frustrated groan of "nbcb..know how to drive one or not? F@rking ch$$bye!". Moments later, the cam car pulled along the left side of the road in the hope that the Bluesg driver would do the same to settle the accident. But to his surprise, the Bluesg driver continued rolling away in his tiny electric car at an exceptionally slow pace. Whether the hit and run were intentional or not, I got to say this has got to be the slowest hit and run I have ever seen. But wait... As it turns out, things are not what they seem to be. A sharp-eyed netizen pointed out how both cars were at fault for this accident as they did not keep to their lanes while negotiating the turn. Seems like the cam car driver was equally as liable as the Bluesg driver, afterall! Netizens' Comments I can't deny that🙃 Take precaution and avoid driving next to them👌 Unfortunately, too brave for his own good. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 5. After 2 long years, we can finally drive into Johor Bahru to do the things we love - pumping cheap petrol, eating delicious food and going for massages. However, not all of us deserve this privilege. Especially for reckless hooligans such as this driver: What Happened? The following incident occurred at a roundabout in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. A Singaporean Volkswagen Golf GTI was travelling at a fast speed and recklessly cutting lanes as he entered a roundabout. Just as he chiong-ed into the roundabout, he was caught unaware of an oncoming Malaysian MPV (?) to his left and collided with it. The MPV involved in the accident immediately pulls over to the side of the road. However, after the Volkswagen driver realised what had happened, he floors his accelerator and scoots away from the accident scene, committing a hit and run. What are your thoughts on such irresponsible drivers? Netizens Comments 😳😳😳 A short and sweet way to describe the GTI driver! I realised this too. 6. This incident was so intense that it kept my eyes peeled on the screen for the entire duration of the video. Watch this attempted hit and run here: What Happened? This incident occurred at Woodlands Avenue 1. While at a red light, a Honda Airwave emerged from behind but could not brake in time. And as a result, he rear-ended a stationary motorcyclist. Another motorcyclist dismounted and came forward to check on the motorcyclist who had just been hit. At this point, a left-turn only arrow flashed and the taxi in front of the cam car drove off, leaving a gap between the cam car and the Honda Airwave. Having spotted the opportunity to flee, the Honda Airwave driver decided to make the run for it. The cam car driver sounded and honked to alert both motorcyclists about it in response. You could tell how nervous the cam car driver was - he managed to honk until his car's honk got stuck (which caused some unnecessary honking throughout the video) and his accidental wiper spray and wipe. Having realised the Honda Airwave was making a run for it, the good Samaritan motorcyclist hopped onto his bike and sped after the Honda driver, revving the hell out of his motorcycle! The cam car driver and the motorcyclist caught up with the Honda Airwave driver within seconds. What happens after this remains unknown, but the traffic police were likely to be called in. Netizens' Comments 👏👏👏 Cam driver panic lah... HAHAHHA LOL. 7. A cam car driver experiences a driver's worst nightmare and learns the importance of investing in a good dashcam the hard way. Just yesterday (March 24), the cam car driver was travelling along the KPE. A motorcyclist suddenly dashes past on his right in an attempt to lane split. Unlike most riders who lane split without any problems, this attempt ends in the rider breaking off the cam car's right-side mirror. Pieces of the mirror flew like confetti as the rider sped up and rode away, staying dangerously close to the vehicles in front. Driver unable to identify rider Due to the shoddy quality dashcam footage, the driver could not identify the motorcyclist. While most drivers can attest to having a good dashcam, some have felt that splurging on such a device is unnecessary. However, there are benefits to having a dashcam that produces top-notch footage. With better-quality footage, drivers can identify the parties involved in the case of an accident. It helps ease the insurance claiming process and protects the driver from fraud. Although picking a good dashcam can be an arduous process, there are several criteria that drivers should look out for when buying a dashcam. If you're in the market for a better dashcam, here is a list of the top dashcams used by drivers in Singapore. Netizens' reactions Most netizens chastised the rider for his amateur lane-splitting skills and sympathised with the unlucky cam driver, while some pointed out the less-than-optimal quality of the footage. He probably watched a video of someone doing it once on YouTube and thought "I can do it too!". How to revoke when you can't even see the plate? Yes, exactly, why? Hopefully after seeing this article, the cam driver will go and buy himself a better dashcam! ======== Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 8. Car-sharing is an undeniably innovative and affordable way for the public to access a car. In the wrong hands, car-sharing can be a double-edged sword, capable of posing a hazard to other road users. *Pretty sure we are all familiar with drivers of a small, white car on lane 1 of the expressway, driving with its high beam on and tailgating others👀* Watch this video to find out how car-sharing can be a deadly hazard to other road users when driven by irresponsible pricks: What Happened? This incident occurred along Bartley Viaduct, in the direction of Bartley Road East. The traffic on the stretch of road was absolutely clear, apart from a GetGo Car (Mazda 3) and motorcycle that passed the cam car. During which, the GetGo driver was driving in between two lanes. (Definitely a sign of a chiu cheng driver) For some reason, the GetGo driver failed to spot the motorcyclist that was LITERALLY right in front of him. As a result, the GetGo driver ended up swerving to his right to avoid rear-ending the motorcyclist. The high speed, coupled with the sudden swerve, caused the Mazda 3 to lose traction and skid. As much as I don't wish to make any assumptions, I can assure you the GetGo driver probably has minimal driving experience (Either that or he is drunk/on drugs). *Don't drop the "Even though I have not been driving ever since I got my license at 18, I have x years of driving experience" B.S on me* While attempting to regain control over the vehicle, the GetGo driver ended up sideswiping the motorcycle...REAL BAD. The collision caused the motorcyclist to fall and repeatedly roll on the road. It seems like the motorcyclist may have sustained significant injuries. The GetGo driver scoots off immediately without hesitating after colliding with the motorcyclist. Not Caught On Camera According to the cam car, he chased the GetGo car after witnessing the hit and run. Apparently, during his escape, the GetGo car also collided with two other vehicles in the vicinity of Maris Stella High School. A pity all these were not caught on a dashcam. It would certainly serve as solid evidence to put this chiu cheng driver away for good. Here's to wishing the motorcyclist a speedy recovery. And I hope the dashcam video finds you well to assist you in your claims accordingly. Netizens' Comments 🤨🤨🤨 Heng ah. Kudos to the cam car driver, you the real MVP. ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! Simply WhatsApp us ➡️https://bit.ly/3c6JERA
  9. Integrity is an essential character-building value that requires one to be accountable and accept responsibility for his/her actions. Essentially, it can be understood as "doing the right thing, even when no one is looking". Unfortunately for this couple, integrity means nothing to them. Watch this video to find out why: The Backstory The owner of the Mini Cooper returned to the Multi-storey carpark (MSCP), only to discover her damaged Mini Cooper. A gentleman, the eyewitness, informed her that the Toyota Corolla beside her reversed into her car twice while parking. Later, she learned that the kind eyewitness had waited in the carpark because a note that he placed on the Mini Cooper, which contained his personal contact information, had gone missing. Shortly after, the couple driving the Toyota Corolla, AKA the culprits, returned to the MSCP. After the Mini driver confronted them, the couple acted blur and brushed her off. The husband allegedly turned aggressive and shouted at the Mini driver, "I pay lah, what's the big deal? I pay!", only to be instructed by his wife to get into the car and ignore the Mini driver. Even when the Mini driver was on a call with the Traffic Police and instructed them to stay until TP arrived at their location, the couple ignored and attempted to drive off. Unfortunately for the couple, their attempt was caught in the above video. Attempted To Run Her Over In the process of preventing the couple from driving off, the Mini driver stood in front of the Toyota Corolla. However, the driver continued to drive off, endangering the victim's life. The Consequence Under section 84 of the Road Traffic Act, the driver at fault is liable to perform the following: Stop their vehicle. Provide their personal information to the accident victim(s), including passengers or pedestrians, upon request. Report the accident to the police within 24 hours. Provide assistance if the accident involves injury or death to another person. Do not move the vehicle(s) involved in the accident. To all those reading this article, please do not endanger your life in the process of retaining a hit and run culprit - Your safety is of paramount importance. Netizens' Comments Somemore bo ji to own up to their own mistakes. If you have a solid parking technique, you won't have to rely on reverse cameras😉 This couple really ownself pwn ownself. I guess you can add "Dangerous driving - Driving against the flow of traffic" to the list of traffic charges. ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! 10. A white Jaguar F-PACE miscalculates camcar's actions and switches lanes too early, resulting in an unexpected hit-and-run. The video starts with the camcar and several other vehicles patiently waiting for the green light at the junction between Bukit Timah and Kheam Hock Road. Upon the appearance of the green light, all cars start to move off, with the Honda Jazz in front of the camcar making a right turn. It is at this moment that the white Jaguar F-PACE decides to filter to the right lane, as the driver assumes that the camcar would be making a right turn as well instead of going straight ahead. This results in a pretty nasty hit between both vehicles. Unlike the fierceness of the vehicle's name, the Jaguar driver immediately increases his speed and runs away after the hit. Do you see the resemblance? The location of the accident While most would agree that the Jaguar F-PACE was being too 'kan chiong' in his judgement, some questioned if the camcar was in a right-turn only lane. Upon further research, here is a quick screengrab of the location. According to the video, the camcar was in Lane 1, which is a lane where vehicles can turn right or go straight ahead, while the Jaguar was in the middle lane. Netizens' reactions It's so sad that this is the reality when it comes to dealing with rich and arrogant drivers. 😞 Oof, if only the Jaguar driver would have thought to slow down and check his mirrors before filtering. TBH, it is easy to prevent an accident like this from happening if the Jaguar driver is alert and did the proper checks before switching lanes. However, the way he ran off afterwards is simply a cowardly action - it's not like he does not have the money to settle the damages (judging from his vehicle). I hope the camcar can catch this driver and receive the proper payout he deserves! ---------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 11. There's a distinct line between fantasy and reality. Unfortunately, one driver simply cannot draw the line between them. Watch how this driver continues "playing" Grand Theft Auto in the streets of Geylang: What happened? In the dashcam video, all may seem normal at first, except for the Mitsubishi Lancer, who seems to be acting impatiently. Seconds later, two traffic police came along riding on their bikes with their blinkers on. The first traffic police officer rode past the Mitsubishi Lancer while the other stopped at his rear. This is where shit starts to happen. The Mitsubishi driver started reversing out of the blue, hitting the traffic police officer at his rear. Despite being hit by the Mitsubishi, the traffic police officer still attempted to stop the car by chasing it on foot. Ignoring the impact of the accident and the commands from the traffic police officer, the driver of the Mitsubishi Lancer refused to stop. Instead, he made an illegal U-Turn and commenced his escape. What was going on in his head vs What actually happened Close enough. The Arrest Not to anyone's surprise, the driver was arrested eventually. How many wanted stars do you think he earned for performing this stunt of his? Netizens' Comments It is a rental car, no wonder can drive so recklessly. This law must obey no matter what🤐 Much appreciation to that traffic police officer, I hope he is recovering well!! ----------------------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 12. One would never expect an accident to occur just at the foot of their home. Watch this video to see how the cam car reacts against a hit-and-run driver: What happened? Although the accident location is unknown, the surroundings suggest that the location is situated among several condominiums. As the cam car was making a right turn into his condominium, a Porsche Macan abruptly cuts the cam car on his right. As a result, the Porsche ended up hitting the side of the cam car. Fortunately, the impact of the accident was pretty minor since both cars were travelling along a street. Fight Or Flight? Instead of going down to exchange personal information, the driver behind the Porsche Macan decides to escape from the cam car. The Porsche Macan pushes out all 300-ish ponies from his turbocharged engine, gapping the distance between him and the cam car in an instance. Shortly after, the cam car commences an intense pursuit after the Porsche and even "bashes" through the security barrier of the Porsche driver's condominium. Stuck With Nowhere To Escape Honestly, this is the stupidest thing anyone could do -- Performing a hit-and-run and trying to hide inside your own condominium, despite the victim right behind your ass. The video abruptly ends with the cam car speeding through the condominium's carpark, leaving viewers on a cliffhanger. Needless to say, the Porsche will eventually be caught as there is only 1 entry and exit within the condominium. All it takes is for the cam car to go around the carpark and find a dark coloured, damaged Porsche with the matching number plate mentioned in the video. Netizens' Comments Damn right it is. At least this involves an exciting chase. I am also looking for an "official ending". I will update this post if there is any. Lame. 13. So I wrote a post about this hit-and-run incident recently, and it got me thinking about how other drivers would handle a hit-and-run situation. Of course, I have never gotten into a hit-and-run before as a driver (and I don't intend to for a long long time) but I do have an iconic experience that I would never forget. Note: This happened when I was in secondary school. My dad was driving me home from school one day (I was in the passenger seat) when we stopped at a junction along Bukit Timah Road (because it was a red light). All of a sudden, we were rear-ended by a rental car and the impact was strong enough that I jerked forward in my seat. Anyways, the junction was near a petrol station so my dad signalled for the guy to stop ahead to settle the damages and everything. We thought things would go smoothly bUT IT DIDN'T BECAUSE THE GUY IMMEDIATELY SWITCHED LANES AND DROVE OFF. 😠 I don't remember exactly what had happened afterwards but I do remember sitting at the side of the petrol station and waiting for a tow truck to come and bring my dad's car to the repair shop. At the end of the day, my dad had to pay off a large repair fee since the back was mostly smooshed in but I never got to know if we caught the guy or not (or if he even got to make an insurance claim for this incident). Nevertheless, it was pretty memorable for me. Do you have an iconic hit-and-run story? I would love to hear it! ☺️
  14. With almost every car equipped with a dashcam and the abundance of LTA/TP cameras, it would be silly for anyone to commit a hit and run since the chances of getting caught would be pretty damn high. Watch how this Mercedes driver commits a hit and run in broad daylight in front of numerous witnesses: What happened? The hit and run incident occurred along Loyang Avenue, involving a Mercedes-Benz CLC180 and a Honda City. The Mercedes-Benz allegedly rear-ended the Honda City and tried to escape from the scene of the accident. As a result of the accident, pieces of debris were scattered along the accident lane. Karma Strikes Just as the Honda City driver alights to exchange relevant information, the Mercedes-Benz abruptly swerves around him to escape from the accident scene. However, only to come face-to-face with a red light signal, leaving him with no choice but to stop at the junction. The Honda driver quickly catches up to the Mercedes to get him to alight and assist in the accident but to no avail. Instead, the Mercedes driver blatantly ignores him and drives off upon the traffic light turning green. NGL, it takes hell a lot of guts and ignorance to pull off a stunt as the Mercedes driver did. Dashcams, Dashcams And More Dashcams As I previously mentioned about getting caught on dashcams, and lo and behold, the dashcam footage surfaces on the internet. With the surfacing of this dashcam footage, I hope the Honda driver successfully claims against the Mercedes driver. Likewise, the Mercedes driver should be taken to task for his hit and run act. You can run, but you can't hide. Netizens' Comments That is if he gets sentenced to prison... 100% agreed. If not he wouldn't have escaped given his "second chance" at the red light. 15. Is this the driver's first time in an MSCP? A seemingly inexperienced Mercedes E300 driver attempts to turn left in WCEGA Plaza and ends up hitting a parked car instead. Upon watching this short clip, there is honestly nothing that can be said to defend the driver's mistake. Despite the carpark being full, the lanes are extremely wide and spacious, which makes it easier for drivers to manoeuvre around. Additionally, a left turn is one of the most basic moves taught during driving school and most drivers should be able to make a sharp left turn from circuit training. With that being said, the fact that this Mercedes driver is able to hit a parked car while turning left in such a spacious area makes me question his driving abilities and sobriety. Is he a really bad driver or just a blur sotong? WCEGA Plaza Located at Bukit Batok, WCEGA Plaza is an industrial building filled mainly with car workshops and dealers. Its structure is similar to that of other carmarts in Singapore, such as Automobile Megamart. While the purpose of the driver's visit to this carmart is unknown, it is possible that the car that had been hit belonged to a car dealer (aka a brand new car). No matter what, the price that this Mercedes driver has to pay is astronomical. Netizens' reactions Maybe this driver should go back to BBDC and put some money towards a couple of driving lessons. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 16. Back to the age-old question - Is it easier to park with or without cars around you? In the forum discussion above, many said that it is easier to park with cars around you. Well, I would think otherwise. Watch this clip and find out why: This incident happened at an open-air carpark, located at 877 Tampines Street 84. What happened? The Lalamove driver, who was driving a Renault SUV, was caught on cam reversing into a PARKED AND STATIONARY Perodua. Oh wells. I am guessing the Lalamove driver held onto the notion that parking with cars around you will be easier. After realising he hit the Perodua, the Lalamove driver did not bother to even alight and check on the damage to both cars. Instead, he scooted away and parked at a nearby lot. How did it happen? Honestly, I don't know how an incident like this can even happen. I mean, almost every modern car these days comes equipped with parking sensors and a reverse camera. I am assuming that the Lalamove driver: (1) was using his mobile phone while reversing, or (2) did not bother to check his side mirrors while reversing. It is almost impossible to commit a hit and run in this day and age, especially with every vehicle armed with a dashcam - You will be caught, and the police will find you. Netizens' comments Maybe HDB has to start installing poles, similar to those in driving schools. What a shame. Same. I was looking intently as he attempted to park the 2nd time. Exactly my point. Got so many types of cameras - Dashcam, HDB CCTVs, LTA CCTVs and Police surveillance cameras. How to siam all of them? 17. Just watch the video and see what exactly happened. Disclaimer: This incident is not what it seems to be. No humans were harmed in the video. This incident occurred at a Shell petrol station located around Bukit Timah. Caught on CCTV A Mercedes-Benz A200 hatchback can be seen in the video trying to wiggle its way out of a tight turn. Just when it wiggles its way out, the side of the car or the tyres clips the inflatable mascot - sending it flat to the ground. TBH considering that he wasn't a P-plate driver, I am disappointed that he couldn't manoeuvre a compact car in a better manner. 18. Ridiculously hilarious footage shows a foreign worker attempting to help his friend navigate their Toyota Dyna out of a parallel parking lot, only for it to end up hitting the vehicle behind them. This incident occurred on Tuesday (July 20) at Upper Weld Road, located in Little India. The minute-long clip starts with the lorry suddenly jerking forward before reversing in a comical attempt to get out of the parking lot. Due to the jerky reversing, the vehicle could not swing out as intended. Trying to help his friend, the foreign worker sitting in the passenger seat alights the lorry and acts as a manual guide while the vehicle continues to reverse in the tight space. As the Toyota Dyna gets closer to the black vehicle in the parking lot behind it, the vehicle commander gestures for his friend to stop reversing. However, his friend does not seem to notice his signal and continues reversing. The lorry inevitably hits the bonnet of the black car behind as the foreign worker grabs the back of it to prevent further damage. The whole ordeal felt like a cartoon act as the driver successfully leaves the lot, almost forgetting to let his vehicle commander friend back onto the vehicle. Netizens’ reactions I don't think the driver will be asking his friend for parking help any time soon. 19. A heartbreaking post was posted on Facebook about an incident that had happened yesterday (June 16) along Yuan Ching Road. According to the post, a female cyclist had hit a 68-year-old uncle as he was walking to his hawker stall and left him lying in a pool of his own blood. Passers-by noted that the cyclist was using her handphone prior to the incident and did not have proper lights on her bicycle. The man's daughter wrote a statement regarding the incident, stating that her father had hit his head and fainted upon the impact. He was then promptly sent to the hospital, where his injuries had shown that the impact was huge due to the fast speed of the bicycle. Continuing her statement, she urged all cyclists to ride at a safe speed along pedestrian walkways and to install lights to alert senior citizens and other pedestrians of their presence. She ended her statement with a plea for more cycling paths around the area as there are many senior citizens living in the estate. Netizens' reactions Many netizens expressed their well wishes for the uncle in the comments, with some reprimanding the cyclist for not helping an injured senior citizen. We wish the uncle a speedy recovery too and hope that the cyclist would be brought to justice soon.
  20. This is what happens when you get your license from the arcade. What went down On 10th May 2021 at 12:04pm, a Tribecar was seen crashing into a Mitsubishi Attrage as the it tried to make an exit out of the CTE tunnel. The shocking thing was not the fact that the car cut through 3 lanes to make the exit but rather, the driver simply continued driving off after the crash (like as though nothing big had happened just a few seconds ago). Additionally, the crash looked like something that you would see when two people hit each other with their bumper cars in an arcade. Do you see the resemblance or is it just me? Netizens' reactions According to Tribecar's official website, rental drivers involved in an accident are required to stop, take pictures of the incident and get eyewitnesses' statements so that the company could file for an insurance claim. However, this driver's irresponsible actions ticked off netizens as they reprimanded the Tribecar driver for driving off after causing an accident. Honestly, I believe that all of this could have been avoided if the Tribecar driver had just continued on his route and missed his exit. After all, spending a few dollars for extra rental time definitely beats spending thousands of dollars for repairs. I hope that all parties involved are fine and that the Mitsubishi driver is still able to make an insurance claim for the damages done to his vehicle. What do you guys think?
  21. Who says ninjas don't exist? This black Toyota Estima was the victim of a ruthless attack by a sneaky ninja who pounced on him while he was just trying to make a U-turn (rather poorly). BAM! you can see the ninja (van) went straight for the kill while the Estima stopped just inches away from the kerb. After the swift attack, the ninja (van) makes his (not so) quick getaway... not knowing that everything was recorded by a dash cam! This isn't feudal Japan, where are you going to run to? In all seriousness though, it is important to look where you are going when driving, especially so when making a U-turn. There's always a chance that the car in front hasn't completed the turn in one swift motion, they might even have to reverse, and you wouldn't want to be right behind them when they do! At least now we know why Ninjavan's deliveries are prompt, not even an accident can stop them! 🤣
  22. A round of applause for this true motorcyclist vigilante. We need more of such road users in Singapore to bring bad drivers to justice. In a recent SGRV Facebook video post, a cyclist can be seen cycling along Bukit Timah Road sometime at night when out of nowhere, a white Toyota Hiace van knocks the cyclist down. Seeing this, the motorcyclist kicked his bike into action and chased the van down to block its path. After which, he even called in the Police. According to the screenshot of the Police report in the video, the van driver claimed that he noticed that he had hit something but 'did not saw anything'. Seeing how the van driver failed his breathalyser test that was conducted after the incident, its no wonder he didn't see anything. He was arrested on the spot by the Police. Here's the full video. Netizens singing praises for the motorcyclist (well most of them).
  23. Well kids, welcome to Monday, and to start a new week we have this video that is proof that not all crazy and or whacky events that take place in Singapore necessarily have to happen in Yishun. For once, the east gets to have its own slice of the action, right along East Coast Road. To be frank, this writer likes the way the Mercedes looks. From the video, it looks to be a C-Class with some black wheels on white paint. Good combo. But that's where the good part ends. First of all, how were you driving to even make a u-turn at that spot anyway? Lest this writer forgets, "creating a space for a u-turn by crashing through the central dividing fence" wasn't in the basic or final theory handbook in driving school. If there was a recent addition like that, please let this writer know. It's a pity the video doesn't show how the Mercedes got themselves in that spot to begin with, but this writer will say that the driver is very determined to get his/her car out of that spot, despite all that expensive scraping noise that is sure to result in some interesting patterns and or damage for the undercarriage. Also, the Mercedes also completely ignored the man in a grey shirt who was walking towards the car, perhaps in a futile bid to find out what was going on or just to render some help. It is somewhat amusing to this writer that the Mercedes just accelerates away, leaving behind a mess of strewn metal fencing and a bevy of confused onlookers. Takes a real boss to do that, driving away nonchalantly with that "I can't be bothered with you lot" attitude. Here's hoping at least someone got the plate on that Mercedes as well, so that he can be asked... But honestly people. Don't drive stupid. Almost everyone has a smartphone today and so many cars have dash cameras. Do something silly, stupid, idiotic or all of the aforementioned and you may stand a chance to appear here on this very blog. Or any of the associated Facebook pages dedicated to, uh, giving you your 15 minutes in the spotlight for horrendous driving. And if that Mercedes driver does read this, would you care sending some photos over of how your undercarriage looks like now? Just for kicks.
  24. Hi guys, I was driving towards an HDB carpark today where a Honda Civic idiot driver was tailgating me so damn hard since 500 meters on the normal road. I even signaled and asked him what is he doing, and then gave indicator and turned into the carpark. After which, I entered and was about to turn left to go up onto the next floor of the carpark, I heard a huge bang at the back of my car. It was the same stupid guy and I walked out to ask him what on earth is he doing? First, he denied what happened and asked me what happened, claiming he didn't do anything. After raising my voice and shouting at him, he asked me to calm down and move ahead to talk, as we were "blocking other cars". I proceeded into my car and when I turned back a few seconds later after moving ahead, the a**hole was gone. During the incident, we were towards the turn for going up and down the multi-story Carpark, and so as I moved ahead, he went down straight and escaped. I was so furious at that point in time and before I could note his full number, he was gone. Luckily, I knew the numerical digits and make/color of the car. After a few hours, I went back to the same carpark and found his car parked upstairs. So, I even left a note on his car saying that he banged my car from the back and it is a hit and run, along with the fact that I have all his car details and a recording of the crash too. I also passed on my contact number. Half an hour later, when I went back to the carpark, the car was gone. I did not get any call/message from him either. What would be the procedure in a situation like this? This guy seems unwilling to pay up and confess his mistake. What a shameless and stupid guy. I noticed the fact that he was tailgating me since quite some time, and specifically signaled and asked him also what is he doing. My car is only 3 weeks old, and got dented and bruised quite a bit at the back. Please advise me on what to do in a situation like this. ASAP. If anybody has any details on the owner of this car, I would humbly request you to help me in this situation. Maybe if this guy had accepted his mistake and owned up, this would not have gone this far. However, this moron is absolutely shameless and rather tricked me into helping him escape. Attached is a photo of his car.
