  1. TL;DR – Nissan Kicks e-POWER seemingly 'steals' a carpark lot from another car and crashes head first into the MSCP railings. Cam car who witnessed and submitted the video claims that it was an accident. A 20-second video of a Nissan Kicks e-POWER stealing a carpark lot at a multi-story carpark has been circulating around social media and WhatsApp chats today. Here’s the footage What it looks like At first glance, it clearly looks like the Kicks had every intention to steal the carpark lot and received instant karma for being selfish and inconsiderate. Damage report 1. The Kicks hit the car that was reversing into the empty carpark lot 2. It also hit the MSCP railings really hard and caused cracks to appear on the walls 3. The force of impact was also strong enough to deploy all the air bags in the Kicks Video witness speaks up So, this found its way into one of my WhatsApp group chats. I guess we need to do some research on the Nissan Kicks to verify. Nissan Kicks e-POWER Screenshot by automotiveworld.com I think the driver begs to differ on the whole ‘enjoyable and engaging’ aspect of the Kicks’ ‘One-Pedal operation’. There’s also a brake pedal for emergencies by the way. Image by carbuyer.com.sg Online Chatter I’m going to include more comments this time round because a lot of people have tons of things to say. 2. The 2012 Detroit Motor Show is considered one of the biggest auto exhibitions in the United States and that is the best time and place for an automaker to showcase a new model. Some groups have wondered what Volkswagen will debut at the abovementioned show. There were rumoured reports that Volkswagen is coming up with a convertible version of the current generation Beetle. It seems that those reports were pretty close but still not close enough as Volkswagen has introduced an all-electric version of the Beetle with an open-top roof which is named as the E-Bugster. The name E-Bugster is a combination of the words electric, bug and speedster. The steeply raked front windshields, shallow side windows, lowered height profile and the sloping roof line indicate a speedster styled vehicle. But, Volkswagen has emphasised that it is not a true open-top speedster. But still, the three inch chopped roof gives it a masculine retro look (just like an American hot rod). Other unique features of the car include a rear spoiler that is wrapped around the body; just below the rear windscreen, a five spoke 20 inch wheels, a C-shaped LED lights that is situated on the front bumpers and a similar C-shaped reflectors on the rear bumpers. The real highlight of the car is the Blue e-motion electric drive unit that Volkswagen has applied to this sexy looking speedster. The E-Bugster is capable of a 100 mile driving range on a single charge. The lithium-ion battery pack which weighs around 315 kilograms is fixed under the trunk floor. Volkswagen did not reveal the battery
  3. [extract] Almost a year ago, Porsche revealed to the world their next supercar which is the 918 Spyder. It will be a limited production model as Porsche intends to build only 918 units. The car will boast a V8 hybrid engine which generates around 718bhp with an exceptional fuel consumption of 78mpg. Porsche will unveil a production unit of the 918 Spyder at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show and now, Porsche has officially revealed that there will be changes to the 918 Spyder which we can expect to see by late 2013 or early 2014. One of the key changes to the car is the engine size. The V8 engine will remain but the engine
  4. Here's the official brochure of the new Honda CR-Z, hailed as the successor to the CRX of the late 1980s. The brochure confirms that the CR-Z's hybrid drivetrain will comprise of a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol unit and an electric motor, with power being transferred to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. The petrol engine delivers an output of 113bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 145Nm at 4,800 rpm. The electric motor, on the other hand, delivers 13.4bhp at 1,500rpm and 78Nm at 1,000rpm. As a result, the CR-Z performs the century sprint in a rather relaxed timing of 9.7 seconds. The published fuel consumption is 25.0km/L. Those who are expecting the CR-Z to be a CRX replacement would be disappointed with the performance of the car. Nonetheless, this is the most stylish hybrid car to date.
