  1. my mum recently bought a second hand car and I got for her only third party insurance. I have been thinking if it's been a good idea. That car has about 2 years left on it. Should I have it changed ? What is the usual insurance to take if given a choice?thanks in advance.
  2. I wonder does it make sense to only insure for 3rd party, fire & theft once there is no body value for the car? Ultimately, why pay more for comprehensive when the insurer would only re-imburse at market value (which is essentially scrap value for most bread & butter cars past 5 years nowadays) and the value has also dropped so much that it doesn't seem to justify the high premium for so low value coverage. In the worse case, scrap the car ourselves and get back the $$$ rather than repair. Why pay premium for insurer so do what one can do ourselves. What are your thoughts?
