  1. hola my first new topic here on MCF currently considering these 2 (or rather 3) cars but really having difficulty deciding between another. i have test drove only the Lexus GS450H among this, unless including the '08 XF 3.0 v6 petrol. First of all just listing some of my opinions on the cars, LEXUS GS450h (2010) Likes -SUPERB SUPERB Torque and power (254Kw) , Non-stop acceleration until there is not enough numbers on the speedometer -AWESOME handling even at high speeds (+sports suspension works) -The seats are far more comfortable and better feeling than on the Jag XF (maybe cause asian body?) -Easier to use infotaintment system than on the XF -crystal clear Mark levinson sound system dislikes -brand (aka face value) still bit of a setback on this. Some people say lexus for uncle lexus is expensive toyota ..... - interior not as posh as on Jag XF. bit boring la basically -boot space (yes, hybrid batteries... but not that important) Jaguar XF 2.2D /2.0T (2012 facelift) Likes - aircon vents and gear knob elevation ( every jag owner knows (: ) -POSH super luxurious interior, slightly less dated compared to Lexus -ITS A JAG - Diesel efficiency of 1000km full tank (2.2D) dislikes - the infotainment system seems a lot more complicated and difficult to use than on the Lexus - engine specs nowhere near the lexus for both the 2.0 or 2.2 ( lexus really no fight in this segment ) - seats (as mentioned above) - diesel clatter and pumping together with lorries and vans (for 2.2D) - 100hp less but drinks more than lexus (2.0T) anyone owns one of these cars can give an opinion? cheers bros, safe driving :)

    Jaguar XF

This car looks dam solid. Went for a test drive with my dad last weekend and we were impressed! Was wondering anyone here owns this car? How is it like to own one and how is the FC like? Luxury is currently at $195k Premium Luxury is at $220k Given a choice of the XF 3.0, BMW 530 ($241k), Lexus GS300 ($192k), Audi A6 3.0Quattro ($238k) and Merc E230 ($197k), Which would you choose?
  3. Guys, Just wanted to hear your views regarding these 2 cars.. Definitely aware that it's not Apple to Apple but I am only looking for opinions on 2 areas (1) reliability and (2) cost of ownership.. Both are 5 year old cars.
  4. At the New York show Jaguar has pulled the bandages off the XF after its mid-life nip
  5. I'm considering taking the untrodden path of diesel powered vehicle, and one of the more attractive propositions out there is the Jaguar XF diesel. Top speed: 230 kmh Acceleration: 0-100 kmh in 8.5 seconds Fuel consumption: 18 km/l CO2 emissions: 149 g/km Engine: 2.2 litre four-cylinder turbocharged unit, 190 horsepower (PS) and 450 Nm. Transmission: ZF eight-speeders Of course, there's the usual concern regarding diesel fuel quality in our neighbouring country, and the famed reliability issues which accompany every Jaguar model. Detractors aside, what the general opinion in owning this car?
  6. Jaguar has announced it will introduce all-wheel drive system on the Jaguar XJ and XF equipped with the supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine that delivers 335bhp and 450Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed ZF transmission. The AWD sedans have revised suspension and steering systems and Jaguar claims that they deliver the same involving handling as their rear-drive counterparts. In dry conditions, the all-wheel drive system operates a rear bias except during step off when torque is pre-loaded to the front for a smoother start. The front drives shafts run through the sump to lower the centre of gravity. The AWD system functions hand-in-hand with Jaguar Drive Control. This allows the driver to select
  7. For the 2013 model year Jaguar XF, the sleek four-door coupe continues without any alterations to its design, but the major changes will take place underneath the hood. The executive model's engine lineup is expanded with two new forced induction petrol power plants, namely a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 delivering 335bhp with 450Nm and a Ford-sourced 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-4 with 237bhp and 340Nm of torque. The 3.0-litre unit replaces the naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V8 in some markets. The introduction of a 2.0-litre engine for the XF follows the path taken by its main rival, the BMW 528i. The 2.0-litre XF completes the century sprint in 7.5 seconds, about a second faster than both the 2.2-litre Turbodiesel and the 3.0-litre naturally aspirated V6 petrol. As for the diesel options, the 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel range is now available in both 161bhp and 197bhp outputs with the latter replacing the existing 187bhp engine. These new power plants complement the existing 3.0-litre V6 Turbodiesel and the Supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol. My guess is that Jaguar may phase out the current 3.0-litre V6 petrol unit and replace it with the 2.0 turbo as the outputs of both engines are similar. In addition to new power plants, Jaguar will be equipping all gasoline and diesel engines across the XF range with its new 8-speed automatic transmission and start/stop system. Not all variants of the new XF will be available in all markets though. Jaguar is expected to release country-specific details on the XF in the coming months.
  8. Almost a year after the announcement on the development of a police package for the new Jaguar XF, the first ever pursuit versions of the British saloon are about to go on patrol across the Midlands. The Central Motorway Police Group, which patrols motorways across Staffordshire, Mercia and the West Midlands, has bought seven high performance Police-spec XFs. All are based on the Diesel S model that features a 3.0-liter unit, churning out 275-horsepower and 443lb-ft of peak torque while still returning 42mpg UK and a CO2 rating of 179 g/km. Geoff Cousins, Managing Director for Jaguar Cars UK, said: "Police forces across the country have been evaluating the XF and we are delighted that the team at the Central Motorway Police Group has chosen Jaguar to join its fleet." The police-spec XFs get a special package that includes a roof mounted light bar with 3600 blue flashing lights and integrated side alley lights, blue and white flashing LED lights inside the front grille, side mounted blue flashing LED lights, blue and red flashing LED lights integrated in the rear light clusters and a Home Office-specification electronics 'Police pack'. The seven Jaguar XFs will be put to work immediately throughout the Midlands.

    The new Jaguar XK

Like all Jaguars, the new XK looks like its in a class of its own. With curves which appear to be inspired by the Aston Martin One-77, and that new grille from the XF, the old 'Spitfire Wing' oval shape which dates back to the E-type of the 1960s will be retired to make way for this all new sheetmetal and grille design. The new Jag will be on sale to the public from 2013. This will be the British car-maker's first ever diesel powered sports car which will be powered by a 3.0 litre twin turbo V6, and with that lightweight aluminium body, the aggressive 3.0 litre turbodiesel will be able to reach a 100km/h in under 5 seconds with an average fuel consumption figure at 12km/l, its really the best of both worlds where fuel economy and performance are not compromised. The body work and the interior fittings have received the largest makeover. The new styling is parallel to Jaguar's revamp of their image which started with the bold and handsome looking XF and on the interior, Jaguar promise the highest of quality with the car
