  1. A worthy sacrifice. If you haven’t noticed, Jaguar and Land Rover are under new management. JLR’s new CEO, Thierry Bollore, officially started work in September of 2020 where he began rolling out his new vision for the stalling brands. Thierry Bollore started his first month working at JLR driving around every single Jaguar and Land Rover product to learn the brand. He also killed off the Jaguar XJ luxury sedan. Starting a new job is never easy and joining a passionate team like the group at JLR as CEO must be a daunting task. The situation when Thierry Bollore joined was very clear, Land Rover was a massively successful brand with a clear growth path and Jaguar could use a little work. Previous management imagined Jaguar as a BMW competitor and aligned the brand’s models to compete with BMW’s product offerings. Jaguar found some success with this strategy, but as Thierry Bollore told Autocar, why would you buy a product imitating something that you could simply go out and purchase. Thierry Bollore’s vision is quite simple, build Jaguar products that are uniquely Jaguars and stop trying to imitate customers. Thierry Bollore is tired of making copies and wants to see Jaguar focus on delivering originals. Bollore went on to explain his vision to Autocar, “ “The plan I brought to the company now looks like the minimum we can achieve. Reimagine is a live project and I have been amazed by the number of people who think we can go further and faster. It has become a cooperative effort with the team.” In addition to reimagining Jaguar’s products, reliability is a top priority. Jaguar and Land Rover products have suffered in recent reliability assessments so rectify these issues is an important step to build the brand. We look forward to the future of JLR as their new CEO enacts this masterful plan for a strong future.
  2. Good day fellow brothers. It's been long guys. Hope all of you are doing fine ;) I wanted to know, anyone here is driving the Jaguar XJL 3.0 SC? I'm looking at getting one as it's quite attractively priced in the used market to replace my ageing F02 730Li. However, since it's quite a "niche" brand, not too sure about the wear and tear, plus the parts availability. Was looking at the S400 too, but depreciation still too much for me to swallow. Would appreciate valuable input as it would greatly assist in me making up my mind. Thank You
  3. Both XF and XJ have been given the 2.0 engine and launched in Malaysia. The XF 2.0 is already available in Singapore. Wonder if the XJ 2.0 will be. http://paultan.org/2013/03/07/jaguar-xf-xj-2-0-ti/
  4. The sixth generation Quattroporte has yet to make its world premiere but it already have to start fending off rivals. Recently, Autocar UK pits the latest luxury saloon from Italy against the Jaguar XJ, thanks to Maserati which allowed the motoring press to review their newest model. The all new Maserati Quattroporte will be making its global debut at the upcoming 2013 Detroit Motor Show. In this group test, the Quattroporte is powered by the top-of-the-range 3.8-litre V8 twin-turbocharged with 523bhp. Its opponent's specifications are no less impressive. The XJ is equipped with a 503bhp 5.0-litre supercharged V8 motor. It is ranked 'Best in Class' by Autocar UK. This review is set to be a clash of the titans. Can the new comer overcome the formidable super cat? Read on to find out.
  5. Jaguar has announced it will introduce all-wheel drive system on the Jaguar XJ and XF equipped with the supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine that delivers 335bhp and 450Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed ZF transmission. The AWD sedans have revised suspension and steering systems and Jaguar claims that they deliver the same involving handling as their rear-drive counterparts. In dry conditions, the all-wheel drive system operates a rear bias except during step off when torque is pre-loaded to the front for a smoother start. The front drives shafts run through the sump to lower the centre of gravity. The AWD system functions hand-in-hand with Jaguar Drive Control. This allows the driver to select
  6. Jaguar surprised the motoring world with its XF, but that's definitely not the end of the road for Jaguar's design department. The new XJ completely overshadows its predecessors and I think owners of the old Jaguars would wonder why they even bought one in the first place. The new XJ is sportier, more luxurious and much better looking than ever before. For starters, Jaguar listened to feedback about the XF's headlamps and that they should have followed the ones on the concept car, and now those from the XF concept have made it to the XJ! Also, it shares the same steering rack as the XFR which makes it agile for a car this big. And the XJ is made largely from aluminium which makes it much lighter than its German rivals which will help with its fuel consumption figures. Its clever too. With its 'Dynamic' Chassis mode you get heavier steering with more feel, sharper suspension settings and a more lively throttle response. The Sport mode lets you have a more sporty feel to the car, which is the size of a limo really. Its unique sporting software setting for the gearbox allows a delay of a downshift, rather than disallowing one completely as in other cars when the computers decide that you're going too fast for 2nd gear, which leaves you hanging in 3rd. In the XJ, 2nd gear can be engaged once the computer decides that the engine won't be over-revved. This whole gear shifting revolution is called 'bending the shift line' according to Jaguar. To me, the sporting credentials and the fusion of luxury and its sportiness is unparalleled in this segment of the car market. Mercedes and BMW with their chunky cars just feel too mainstream for my liking. With the XJ, its luxury at its best and it has the whole package; good looks, wonderful engine and a stunning interior. Its just a class above the rest.
